Steal My Sales Process to 2x Your Sales | Live Sales Roleplay

Christian Polk roleplays a sales call for a real estate mentorship, walking through discovery, quantifying what the prospect loses by waiting (missed earnings over three years), and closing on a first deal in three months. Watch how he frames consequence and builds commitment.
Yesterday I collected $36,000, the most I've ever collected. It's just fucking. We're cooking.
Yeah. I'll be sharing one of my one on one coaching calls where I go over my sales process. So you can take that sales process, apply it to what you're selling so you can make more sales. It's a sales process that I use to make me over $7 million in sales and also what I've taught hundreds of clients to make them more sales and get more commissions as well. Just so you understand the context of this call. So the person that I'm working with sells a real estate investing offer. Now I sold for Ryan Pineda like three years ago. It was something similar but pretty different. But it doesn't matter what you're selling as long as you have a good sales process. Why is because you're selling change. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you're selling. So the reason why I'm able to hop on a role play or even hop on different offers like I have and start selling immediately is because. Because I have a process down where I understand how to get people to actually commit to change. Once we get people to commit to change what we're presenting and the close become a lot more simpler. In the first part of the call, he goes through he role plays and I give him feedback on how he can tweak and get better and then I take him through the process. So make sure you stay tuned for both of those. A bit of a caveat as well. Understanding the words I'm saying is definitely important, but what's more important is understanding the why behind it. So if you want to understand more about the why behind it, check out the links in the description. But if not, take notes, pay attention and drop your biggest takeaway in the comment section.
I guess just be yourself. I mean, be the 9 to 5 guy. Because now that the marketing is slowly getting more dialed in, we don't really have the investors coming in. It's more so people that just want to invest faster. Yeah. So they'll go into the higher paid ticket items or whatever.
Okay, cool. So it's mostly just bizarre.
Finally now it is so marketing still getting dialed in but day at a time. So.
Okay, cool.
But anyway. Christian, can you, can you hear me okay?
Yeah, I can hear you, man.
Okay, good. My camera's coming through clear. You can see me good.
Yeah.
Okay, well we can kind of jump into it like right away because I know you booked in here pretty recently. Booking Some, like, possible outside help with real estate to, like, start investing and doing all that fun stuff. Is that right?
Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
Okay. And then just so we're on the same page, and so I'm kind of caught up to speed on that, I guess. What did you see on that made you want to look into this mentorship more?
I like Justin. He has a lot of good things to say, so I've been following him for quite a bit, and I know he does a lot of real estate, so just another way to just make some more money.
Oh, make some more money. Okay, well, between you and me, no one comes to us to make less money. Um, but I guess as far as, like, making money goes, what are you doing for work right now?
So right now I work for my dad.
Oh, okay. What do you do?
So I work in heating and air.
Okay. Like. Like H vac?
Yeah.
Okay. One of the cool guys. How long have you been doing that for?
So I've been doing it a little bit over three years now.
Little over three years. All right. And I guess, like, what. What got you involved with that?
I mean, my dad does it, and then, you know, just went to technical school and just been under him. I make decent money doing it for, you know, just work with my hands.
Okay. So I mean, what's. What's even coming up for you right now with the. With the job that you have in H vac, that makes you feel like that's not quite enough and has you looking for more money through real estate?
It's just that I feel like my time's really connected to the amount of money I'm able to make. So if I can just have a little bit more, like, leverage on my time, like, that would be the. The biggest thing, like, make more money for the time I'm putting in.
Okay. When you say, like, more time and leverage it for money, I guess, like, can you expand on that for me?
Yeah. Cause I'm pretty much capped as far as the. The amount of hours I'm able to work, so.
And.
And, you know, I make. I make good money, like, per hour, but if I can make more money per hour with the same time of putting in, like, that's what I want to do.
Oh, okay. I guess, like, how long has, like, that kind of been the case for you felt like you've been capped?
Well, I just got a bit of a raise, but the entire time, just with the amount of work that we get coming in.
Okay. And it'll remind me again, that was over the Last three years.
Yeah.
Okay. I mean, like, you, you kind of be in that capped income of what you can actually make due to the time, I guess. Like, what impact does that kind of have on like your month to month?
I mean, in the month to month, it doesn't really have much of an impact. I mean, I'm probably not saving as much as I want to, but I don't really have much as far as like living expenses. I live alone right now, so. Yeah, not too much.
Yeah. Okay. And I guess. Can I share a perspective around that?
Yeah.
Yeah. So for you, do you think that's kind of part of the problem a little bit?
Like, how do you mean?
Yeah, like, not really acknowledging that at where you're being at where you are, like at that capped income is kind of a problem.
Well, yeah, I understand. Like, it's a problem, but it doesn't really affect like my month to month.
Okay. I guess, like, I guess for you, like, and most people, I mean, like, why do people change?
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Yeah, it's going to be either because they're in pain or it's a fear of future pain. Because like, if, if you were in the super bowl, let's just say, and you had a teammate that didn't really care if you, if you won or lost, did you? Would you really want them on your team?
No. No, I wouldn't.
Yeah, I guess. Why not?
Just. Yeah, they didn't. Didn't care.
Yeah, they just don't care. Like, dude, I'm on your team. So, like, when you say it doesn't really have an impact on your month to month, I mean, like, what is that kind of like leading to, though?
What do you mean?
Yeah, not being able to actually make the money you want to on like a, on a month to month basis.
It's just leading to. I'm not living the type of life that I, that I want.
Yeah, but I mean, like, why is that a bad thing?
Well, like, I just want to, I want to do more.
Okay. And when you say do more, I guess what do you mean by that?
You know, just have, you know, right now I live in a part of town that's not the, not the best, you know, move to either like a better part of town or, you know, be able to maybe travel a bit more and, and not just be kind of just stuck in the, in the same spot.
Okay. I mean, like, I know some people who live in the same spot their entire life and don't really travel. So for you, why is that, like, a bad thing to not be able to do that right now?
Well, it's just, you know, I. I grow up and grew up in a small town and still here, so I just always wanted to go ahead and explore.
When you say explore, like, what do you mean by that?
I just travel different parts of, like, the U.S. different, like, go out of. Go out of the country and just travel to. To different destinations.
Okay. I mean, like, if you're making fairly decent money right now, I mean, why can't you just go do that?
Because I have to. Like, I'm tied to the location. Like, I have to be there for the jobs.
Oh, okay. And, like, I. I don't really want to assume anything because, like, I don't run your business. But you being. To have to. You being, like, tied down to, like, that one location to make money and not being able to actually, like, move and travel, I mean, how. How does that make you feel?
It's a bit frustrating.
In what way, though?
Well, it's just. I feel like I'm tied down.
Yeah. And I mean, like, some people are okay with being tied down. So for you, why does that make you frustrated?
Well, I. It just has always been something that frustrates me.
Why is that?
Well, like I said, you know, I grew up in a small town, so I've. I've wanted to. To kind of branch out.
Okay. And I guess, like, why not actually just look for a different job in a different area and kind of branch out in that way?
Well, I definitely could look for a different job, but then I'll just face the same thing there, where I'll just be in that location.
Okay. So it kind of sounds like you're looking to have that location freedom as well.
Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. So besides, like, wanting to make more money so you can, like, have that freedom, I guess why might you be looking into, like, the. The proper training and mentorship for real estate rather than just going out there and trying to invest on your own?
Well, just. I don't want to, you know, lose money. Like, so I just want to, you know, other people have figured it out. So if there's a way that I could figure it, like, just follow what they're doing and not reinvent the wheel, I feel like that would just, like, get. I can get there quicker.
Okay. Getting there quicker. And I guess before we start speaking for you reached out to Justin. Have you been out there looking at other professionals or other mentorships so that you could get that, like, time freedom you're looking for? Or what have you been doing?
Yeah, I've been looking at different things. You know, just listening to, you know, bigger pockets and, you know, watching a couple different things on YouTube, just, you know, learning the basics.
Oh, okay. My apologies. I mean, like, have you reached out to any other professionals or.
No, no, this is my first call.
Oh, as what prevented you from going out there and, like, getting the proper help needed?
Well, it's just like. I don't know. I just. Just. I've been watching stuff and, you know, I saw Justin put this out, and so I just want to see what it's all about.
Okay. I guess. Can I. Can I ask you a question? Yeah, I guess. Like, where. Where does that way of thinking come from? Like, wanting to make more money for the last three years but never, like, going out there and getting the proper help so that you could make more money?
I guess I just never made it a priority.
Okay. I guess by. By not making that a priority. I mean, like, what do you feel like that's cost you?
Probably a lot of. A lot of time, A lot of money.
How much time and money do you think?
I'm not sure.
I. I guess, yeah. Really have to think about it.
I've. I mean, like, the past three years, if I, you know, gotten into real estate and. And been making, you know, good money, you know, like, probably thousands of dollars.
Thousands of dollars. Okay. And I mean, like, if we. If we look at this, like, more on, like, the technical side, I guess. Do you have, like, a calculator handy? Maybe even the one on your phone?
I just threw my phone.
No worries, man. I got mine pulled up here. So you said you've been looking at trying to make more money for the last three years. If you don't mind me asking, I guess. What are you making now?
So right now I make about seven or so per month.
Okay. Seven or so are months of 7K. I mean, like you said, your living expenses are low, so, I mean, like, what do you need to survive?
To survive? Just everything included. Two per month.
Two. Okay. So I mean, like, if we. If we look at the last, like, three years, given if you had the right skill set, how long do you feel like it would take you to go out there and actually start investing? A month? Three months?
Well, I would want to get it started, like, as. As soon as possible. So it just, like, what. What do you.
What.
What do you feel like would be, like, a reasonable timeframe?
Yeah. I mean, can. Can I make a suggestion with that? Yeah. Yeah. So what we see most of our clients do when they first come to us is they usually get their first deal within three months just because it buys them enough time to actually learn the proper education, go out there and actually implement it. So do you feel like within three months you'd be able to go out there and actually get your first deal?
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Okay. So I guess we kind of do the math on that. There's 12 months in a year. Times the last three years you've been kind of looking to make more money. Now, given that three months you had the proper education, you could then go out there and get the proper skills. We subtract that, we get 33. Now you said just to do this, like just to survive, you need $2,000. So if we take 33 times 2,000, calculator wants to be slow, but that's 66,000. So by you not going out there and getting the right skills, you essentially missed out on 66 grand. I mean, does that, does that sound right?
Yeah, it does.
Okay. Could you, could you use 66 grand right now?
No, I definitely could.
Yeah. What could you use that on?
I mean, that sounds like a down payment for a house.
Yeah. So like, what, what goes on internally when you kind of notice that you lost 66 grand for not executing?
Yeah, it's definitely not good and not good.
How so?
Well, it's just. Yeah, I feel like I'm. I'm leaving a lot.
Okay. So I guess is that way of thinking, like, not really prioritizing something like this worth holding onto?
No, definitely not.
Okay. And why not though?
Well, because I feel like I've. I've left a lot of opportunity and money on the table.
Okay. And I mean like a. Because it kind of sounds like you're looking to go from like that 9 to 5 employee almost to that like full time investor. Does that sound right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay. And I'm like, the, the reason I ask is. Cause while yes, it is part skill, it's also part of like being a better person. Like, would you agree?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Cause if you're that investor that has that time freedom, can go where he wants. I mean, like, you gotta walk that. But right now you're the, you're the guy that's like working for his dad, stuck in that same spot. Would you agree?
Yeah.
Okay. So I'm like, the tough question I have to ask is, are you committed to actually to get into that full time investor status? Because like, dude, if you're not, I'll be the first one to Tell you just stay with what you're doing.
No, I'm definitely committed.
Okay. I guess what happens if you don't commit though, and you kind of just stay with where you're at?
Then I'd just, I'll get more of the same.
I mean, the same isn't that bad. So for you, why is just staying the same bad?
I just feel like I'll be stuck.
In what way though?
Just stuck doing the same thing, making the same type of money and in the same place.
Okay. And like, do you, do you want to change that?
Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
Okay. I guess just to. Just to make sure that we can help you specifically and actually get you to where you need to go. Suppose it was like you, me and Justin, we were all in his office and you could actually map out your ideal mentorship so you would be able to actually make that transition to that full time investor, I guess. Like what would you be looking from us as the team to actually get you there?
I say the biggest thing, just a blueprint of how to get, you know, my first deal and then how to like really start to, to scale after that.
Okay. And I guess, like, why, why is having that blueprint so important to you?
So I just know what, I do know what to do so I'm not wasting any time and I'm able to, to get profitable as quick as possible.
Okay. Yeah, I guess. Can I kind of make a suggestion as well? Yeah, yeah. So what a lot of our other clients typically ask for is kind of that similar thing like the blueprint roadmap. Also like how to fund the properties and actually source them. So would that be something you might be looking for as well?
Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure.
Oh, okay. And I guess if we dive into the numbers for a little bit, like you're making seven grand a month now, I guess. Where are you looking to be within the Next, let's say 12 months?
Well, like within the next 12 months, if I could transition and do this full time, I feel like that would, that would be pretty big.
Okay. And I guess if we're looking like where we're looking to be month to month, I guess. What are you looking to make?
At least. At least 10,000 per month.
At least 10,000 Per Month. Okay. So let's say we're able to come in and help you like we do with all of our other clients. So you are able to actually make that transition from that 9 to 5 employee and investor actually make more money. I mean, at the end of the day, money is Just a vehicle. So it really depends on where it's taken you. But you being able to, like, actually get to $10,000, like, a month on your own, I guess, like, what. What difference would that make for you?
I think that the biggest thing is just give me more freedom overall.
Okay. And freedom, I guess. Like, what does that look like to you?
Just being able to travel more, have, you know, the things that I want, like, not just be tied down in one location. So, like, that way I can, you know, just do more of the things I'm wanting to do.
All right. And I guess, like, travel, I guess, anywhere specific in mind.
Like, there's nowhere, like, super specific, you know, wanted to, you know, go somewhere by the beach or maybe even South America. Just. It just depends.
Oh. I mean, South America is pretty specific. I mean, what's down there?
Just, you know, it's. I know it's. It's pretty cheap down there, and, you know, it's like, there's. There's a lot of beach towns and things along those lines. So I feel like, you know, weather's good.
Okay. So, I mean, like, making the extra money, having that time, freedom, like, all that's great, but I guess, like, what would that do for you?
On.
I guess on, like, more of a personal level, I'm just.
I'd be a lot more fulfilled just having the. The freedom that I'm looking for.
Okay. I mean, like, if you can picture it, you just collected that check for $10,000. You're your own boss. You're hopping on that flat, that plane to fly down to South America. I mean, like, in. In that moment, like, getting on that plane, like you're flying first class. Like, how would that feel?
Feel really good.
In what way?
Yeah, just, you know, be happy. Like, I would. I'd just feel free.
Okay. And I mean, just because I do have to ask, if nothing changes, you stay working in H vac for your dad. I mean, how close are you to actually getting that freedom?
Yeah, not. Not very close.
Not close. So what happens if you. If you don't do anything about this and you're unable to get the proper skills so that you can start investing in real estate and acquire the freedom that you're looking for? I mean, what. What would the consequences of that be?
Just be. Be stuck.
In what way, though?
It's like the same old, same old. Just keep on doing what I'm doing now and, you know, nothing ever changes.
Okay. I mean, are you. Are you willing to settle for that?
No. No, I'm Definitely not willing to settle.
Yeah. So, like, whose choice is it if you. If you do decide to settle, though?
Well, it's my choice.
Yeah. So time to. Time to possibly make a change then?
Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
Okay. I mean. I mean, you don't have to. I'm like, you sound motivated, though. I mean, like, why not kind of just like, kick the can down the road and hope and pray everything just magically works out?
Well, no, like, it's definitely. Definitely time to make a change.
Right. And I'll just hit transition from there.
Cool.
I know I shut the bed at the end of problem awareness. I felt that.
It's the. The biggest thing that I see is you not going down the right path.
Yep.
I felt again, it. It just comes down to understanding people and being genuinely curious and not trying to put them in a box. So, like, that. That's really what it comes down to. Because I felt like you skipped a little bit when it came to connection. Like, you heard more money than. You just moved on. Right. Where it's like, okay, but why. Why actually, like, get into. To real estate to make more money in the first place?
Connection issue. Okay. So kind of dive deeper.
Then you have like, a more, like, broader, more better understanding. So when you dive into it. Because if he's like, if I say, like, oh, like, I just. I feel like it's a good way to make money, you know, with not having to, you know, be stuck in one place. So then your problem is completely different because you're less focused on the money, which you can still hit the money, but you're more focused on freedom.
Yeah.
You get what I'm saying?
Yeah, I. I felt that in the beginning too. I was like, no, this was too easy. Why did I hit? Like, as soon as we got to the end of problem awareness, I was like, no, that was vague as fuck.
Like, I felt that. No worries, man. Because, like, once you get your footing, like, you're. You're good. And it's just like, sometimes you just go down, just maybe not the. The best path. Like, you're still getting pain, which is good. But, like, there's probably a deeper pain, and it just comes down. Sit and think to yourself, what do I feel like this person's pain is? And just genuinely listening to them and genuinely being curious of what they have going on. Makes sense.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think that would help in the beginning of just being able to actually sit there for a minute and go, okay, so where is this person's pain?
Yeah, where is this person's pain. And like you have that, that thought process going in your head. And then also that, that comes down to understanding, like why we're asking these questions. What am I trying to get out of it? Which is also going to shape your tone. Because like there, there are times when like you, you do shift your tone a bit, but where we really probably need it. There. It's not, it's not there. Yeah, it's just not there.
Okay.
So. And again, it comes with practice. But I think the biggest thing is once you understand like the why, where I'm going, all these things. Because you have the structure down. You can do the structure, man. Okay. And that will get you to a certain level of proficiency. You're never gonna have to worry about money again. Fan fucking tastic. You're there. Okay, cool. Now we're talking about, like, we're good. Now we're talking about going to. Great. Then it just comes down to understanding the why behind everything, Dialing in the tone and really being able to connect with people on a different level. Makes sense.
Yeah. There was a moment I was going to hit you with the good to great frame as well, and I didn't. I was like, ah, fuck, I should probably use it there.
Yeah, but, but the thing is you put me in a box that maybe I didn't belong in.
Right.
Like you're, you're handling a person that you're more comfortable handling than the person who's just in front of you.
I thought the fucking truth. Yeah. Right.
So it's like, I'm not going to assume that this person is another person or they have the same type of problem. I'm not going to assume that this person, because they're making 7,000 per month that they're comfortable with making that type of money.
Right.
Maybe they have a deep seated anxiety if they're making anything less than a hundred thousand per month. I don't fucking know. I'm asking. So it's just about not assuming, just asking and then just going where the conversation takes you. Like, don't have any certain expectations.
Okay. And when you were saying that, were you talking about like the, when you mentioned you were making like 7k? So I was like, oh, well, I know some people who are fine with making 7,000amonth. So why aren't you?
Yeah, like things like that are definitely good to get, but like at the top you're just trying to make it all about the money. And then it's like, well, right now like the money doesn't have an impact.
On Me.
Because you got to think, put yourself in those shoes. Because it's like, again, I've never been that person, but I know that person. My dad does do H vac. Okay. His living expenses are dirt fucking cheap. So if you ask him, like, hey, how is making this money impacting you right now? Like, it's not really having. The money's not having an impact.
That's where it was. It was that. So does that have an impact on a month to month and where it didn't like, click. I was like, ah, I don't know the to go here. So I tried to save it. That's where I noticed I got up.
So it's like, what would it be? It's like, okay, well, I have to look, the money doesn't have the impact. Time has impact. You got to go into fucking crawl spaces. You got to go to home, to home, to home. You're tied to a location. You get what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So it's like, it's just not assuming, you know that. Okay, it's definitely a money problem.
Yeah. Because that's kind of like the last role play we did where it's like, with that, like when I was role playing the grocery store, like, it wasn't the money, it was the actual. Just the, the feeling of working in that like, lower status area.
Yeah. So it's like. And if I'm able to tap into that, I'm able to tap into what's really going on. So. And that's how you get very precise with your, your questions, very precise with your language. And then by the end of it, I just say your words. I'm just speaking the way you speak. It's like we've known each other for 10 years.
Yeah.
Like, that's how I should feel about, like at the end of the end of the discovery, like, you should open up to me the way you've never opened up to anyone else before.
And when we, Because I was having this, me and Kelvin were talking about this. How far do you go in actually connecting? Because like, everyone.
Until I get what I need.
Okay. Because everyone in seventh level, like, don't probe in connecting. Like, it's just to start the conversation diffuse and keep moving on.
Yeah, well, like, I'll clarify. I probably won't go too, too deep into it. Oh, like, how do you mean by that? Like, clarify how. What do you mean? How do you mean? Can you, like, what, what is that? So clarify so you have a better understanding. And then like probing deeper is like, well, how long has that been going on? What type of impact? Right. So, like, you can make the distinction between the two.
Yeah. So you. You still clarify. Sort of been like, oh, I want to make more money. Oh, how do you mean? Yeah, and then you would.
Yeah. Why? Why? Why look into real estate? To make more money.
And that. Yeah, it starts in connecting. Because then it would have shifted the conversation. Yeah.
And then you're having the conversation you need to have rather than the conversation you want to have.
Yeah. I think when I've been connecting, I just. In my head, I'm like, tangible, problem, goal, whatever it is, get the problem or the role. Oh, go make more money. Cool. So what are you doing right now to make money? Yeah, so I'm, like, getting there. Okay. Yeah.
Which on some level, for a good chunk of people, work, but the 60% of people who don't fit into that box, like, we're not able to connect with them on the level we need to.
And that's how we get to the 15k month. So I kind of need to connect with those people to get there. That's the type of people I need to connect with. Because I've been watching this other guy on Brand new. He actually invested in real estate. He came to the same, like, sales company, and dude has no sales structure. His calls are an hour and 40, 50 minutes long. You froze for a minute. His calls are almost two hours long. But he's collected 100 grand this month, and he's been doing this for two months. It's because he just talks and talks and talks, and they gets people to open up and talk. So I'm like, how can I do that in a shorter amount of time? And that's actually doing this, which is finding the actual.
Be more precise. Because, like, he has no structure, so he can't help but be curious about people.
Yeah. Okay. All right. Going from there. All right. Any chance that we can do role reverse? Do you still got time for that?
Yeah, we've got time.
Okay. Because these are. This right here is what I study. The fuck? I'm going. What did he say? Why did he say that? Write that down.
I gotcha, I gotcha.
No pressure.
Okay, cool, cool. Hey, man, can you hear me? Can you see me?
Yeah, I can see you, man.
All right, cool, man. Well, it looks like you booked in about, you know, possibly giving some help starting your own real estate business so you could make more money. Is that right?
Yeah.
Okay, cool, man. Made it to the right spot. Just so we're on the same Page, I know you're talking to Justin in the DMs, but I don't want to assume too much. What about what you saw or just like, what we have over here that made you want to go and book in the call today?
Yeah, I. I kind of just want to learn more about real estate, how you guys make money through it and kind of what strategies you guys are using.
Oh, absolutely, man. And we'll definitely go over that for sure. Like, what we do, it's a. It's a bit customized based off, like, what you feel like you actually need and. And where you feel like you want to go. So if you. If you had to think about it, as far as any potential help with real estate, do you know what type of help you're actually looking for?
Like A to Z? Just getting started.
Yeah. Okay, so we're just jumping in?
Yes. Okay.
So what. What's coming up for you, though, to even have you wanting to. To jump into real estate in the first place?
Yeah, I mean, like, right now I'm a lineman, so I'm like, I'm kind of looking to step away from the trades and kind of look for alternate ways of making money.
Okay, so you'd want to go like, full time into real estate?
Yes.
Okay, cool, man. Yeah. I love working with people are really, I'd say, like, in that transition of being more of like a. Like an employee to really. To a business owner, because you go from, like, taking orders to taking action. You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah.
Because, like, right now, because you're a lot like, alignment. Like what. What specifically is that?
Yeah, it's essentially all the power lines that you see. I'm the one putting those up.
Yeah. How long you been doing that last 12 years. Oh, wow. We've still been doing. Doing a lot. We'll get you. She got her started in doing that.
I mean, I got stepped in the trades right after high school, and I've been doing it since, so. Yeah.
So what.
What's.
What's coming up for you that would, I don't know, maybe make you feel like just doing. Doing that work just isn't quite enough?
I mean, yeah, I've been. I've been doing this for a while now, and it's just. I'm tired.
Tired?
Yeah. Like, my body hurts and I just. I don't see a lot of guys in this for long. They'll probably do it for 10, 20 years, and then they'll. They'll retire, but they don't really have a life after that, you know, I.
Get it man, because like those people who do do it like 20 years plus, have you seen like the aftermath of what their, what their body actually looks like after they're done?
Yeah, yeah.
Like what, what? I, I haven't been in that line of work. Like what do they typically look like?
I mean like they're, they're old, they're grumpy and they're in a lot of pain.
Yeah, that could be trouble for sure. Well, I guess, like how long have you been feeling like you're tired though, with the, with the, with the work?
More like, more that I've actually sit and think about it probably like the last three years. Oh, wow.
That's a, it's a while. Like what do you, what do you feel like is causing that on your end?
I mean it's just the, no pun intended, but the line of work we do, like. Yeah, actually it's physically demanding. So having to do that 8, 10, 12, 15 hour days, it takes a toll on your body.
Oh man. Like on, on a typical week, like how many hours you actually working right now?
It could be on and off. Like some weeks I'll be working 80 hour weeks, other weeks I could be working 40, 50.
Oh wow, that's, that's still quite a bit, man. I mean I, I don't want to assume on my end, but what type of impact does it have on your, on your day to day having to work, you know, 80 plus hours per week with a, like a high demand job like that?
I mean, it sucks.
Yeah, but how so?
Yeah, I mean like I'm working nine times out of 10 to 80 hour weeks and because of that I'm, I'm not really able to do the things I want to do.
Yeah, but especially when we're talking about on your body, like what do you feel like that's leading to.
Early retirement?
I get it, man. Because when you, when you sit and you think about it like you being stuck in this job for at least the past three years, feeling like you're tired, I guess. Like how does that actually feel?
I mean it's, it's draining after a while.
Training in what way?
Yeah, I mean like I'm getting up and doing the same thing every day, going to, I mean, different locations, but still like intense work, depending on the weather, it just, it's draining.
Yeah, but what impact do you feel like that's actually having on your body like after 12 years?
Oh, it's, it's, it's destroying me. Yeah.
Do you think you could hold up another eight years, do it, do it for 20 and then try to retire.
Yeah, no, that, that, that's why I'm on the call with you today, man. I don't want to do it.
So, like, apparently some people have, like, why, why don't you feel like your body could hold up?
I don't, it's not that I couldn't hold up. It's just I don't see myself doing this till the 20 year mark. Okay.
Because what, like, what, what do you feel like you'd need to be like making, though, in order to transition into actually doing real estate full time?
I mean, like, ideally I'd like to match my income. It's like 16,000.
Would that be okay? So 16,000, okay. That's not, it's not a bad income, I guess. Like, what would be the, the main reason though, you'd be looking into, I guess, like real estate rather than just, I don't know, going out and just trying to find a different, different job that's not so labor intensive.
Yeah, I mean, I've been, obviously, I don't know if you've worked in the trades at all, but I've been doing this for the last 12 years. And for the last 12 years someone's always pointing a finger and told me where to go, when to be and yeah, the whole like jump, how high? So to speak.
Okay, so it's like you don't want to be that guy that's just getting told to jump. Right, yeah, no, I get it, man. So before like we started talking, have you been out there looking for any other ways to like, branch off, do your own thing, get into real estate full time, not have to take orders? Or, or what have you really been doing about like, making that transition?
Nothing really. No.
Okay, what's, what's prevented you from doing anything in the past?
I mean, like I'm working 80 hour weeks, so I just, I just never really had the time. Okay.
I mean, can I, can I make a suggestion?
Yeah, of course. Yeah.
Because you should probably know like Justin, he, you know, he's in the trades. We talk to a lot of people who are in your exact same spot and they're able to find the time, make sure that they can transition. So like, what do you feel like it's actually prevented you from making the time?
It's a good question. I don't know.
Well, if really sat and thought about.
It, probably, I just, there's a lot of, a lot of fake gurus on there. I just didn't know really where to start. Okay.
But I do have to ask. If we've been tired, we know we want to transition for the past three years. Whose responsibility is it to. To go out and try to find a. Find a solution for that?
That's mine.
Yeah. So. So be real with me. Like, I'm on your team, but I can only help if you help me. What stopped you from going out and actually looking to. To do something about this?
Just, I don't. I feel like I just didn't know where to start. I know who was legit and I was always too scared to take that first step.
Yeah. And I appreciate that because it is scary, I guess. Like, where do you feel like that that belief comes from, though? Like, being in pain for the past three years, being tired, but being too scared to go out and try to take the leap.
It was probably just ever since I was a kid, like, my parents were so anti investing. I get it. Dad was in the trade, uncles, grandpa, they were all in the trade. So I always made the joke that we're like, hey, we're part Mexican. If we can't make money with our hands, we can't make money elsewhere.
I get it, man. I've been in your exact same shoes. But do we want to take financial advice from people who aren't where we want to be?
No.
Well, why not?
Well, I mean, because if, if we did, it would be somebody that is like just in the higher status. Yeah.
Because, like, I'll be real. I love my dad. He's in the trades too, but he's the one who told me not to go into business. Now I make what he makes in a year, in a month. Right. So it's just about making that shift because you holding on to that fear for at least the past three years. Like, what do you feel like that's cost you.
Probably could have saved my body a little bit.
Absolutely.
Yeah. I mean, if I was able to kind of grow a pair and make the jump three years ago, I probably would have gone through this last three years of hell, essentially. Yeah.
So do you feel like holding on to that fear? Do you feel like that's actually worth keeping?
No.
Well, why not?
Well, I mean, because I'm still in the trades and I haven't been able to leave, so.
Yeah, because, like, I'll be real, man. And the reason why I bring this up in the first place is because you can get somebody the perfect diet plan in the world, but if they don't have the right mentality to Actually use it. Like, what type of results are they going to get? Jack? Yeah. So it just comes down to, yes, skills. But another level is being a better person. Because if you're that person who makes 16,000 per month. Right. Live wherever you want doing these real estate deals, you don't have to do it with your body. Like I'm telling you right now, like, you walk different. You have a different level of confidence too. You know what I mean?
Yeah.
It's just right now or that person who has just been scared and stuck. Is that right?
Right.
So I do have to ask, like, are you okay staying that person? Because you are. I'm the first one to tell you, just, hey, keep doing what you're doing now.
I'm not.
But the real, real tough question we have to ask ourselves is if you stay that person, the person who we have been for the rest of your life, like, how is that going to feel?
I feel like.
But in what way?
Like kind of like you said, like what your dad makes in a year, you're making it a month now. Like if we look back on it, knowing that we missed out on the opportunity, it would. Yeah, it would sting. Yeah.
So are you ready to stop being that guy who misses out on the opportunity?
I am, yeah.
Okay, then what do you feel like you would actually need?
Right.
If we're going to map it out.
Okay.
Got the right mentality. Now we're talking about the actual skills that we need. What do you feel like you need from us to make sure you can come in, be profitable as quick as possible and we get you to that point where you can transition to be a full time investor as quick as possible?
I mean, probably like a good blueprint would help. Okay, why is that? I mean like being in the trades, working with my hands, I can read a good blueprint, so if I have the right instructions, I can go out and do it.
Okay, so got the right instructions. And then do, do you also know the different ways that you can like fund deals and make sure you can accelerate your growth or do you feel like you might need help with that as well?
I would definitely need help with that.
Well, why do you think so?
Just because I've, I've never done it before. And if I'm investing money in real estate, I don't want to just look it up on Google and hope and pray I find an answer.
Yeah. People tend not to, not to get the results if they're just hoping and praying, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah. So then let's say like we're able to come in, get you the right blueprint, making sure we're finding the right funding, we're accelerating our results. I know you said 16,000 is what we'd be needing to make to transition, but is that like the. Just like, that first goal, or what's the actual goal we're trying to achieve here?
I mean, like, 16,000 is comfortable. It's nice. But I feel like if I could, like, take that next step to, like, even 20,000, that that'd be good.
Yeah, well, it's like, when we're talking about comfortability, because it's an interesting thing as far as, like, making that transition. Like, is it going to be comfortable?
Hell no. Right.
So it's like, we gotta make that. That goal that we're shooting for. We gotta make it worth it. Because if we're shooting just for comfortable goals, like, what do we end up gonna get?
Same thing. Yeah.
So B wrote me, not just the goals you want to say out loud, but what do you actually want to make, like, each and every month. If you had the right skills.
I could make like, 30 grand. Okay.
Why 30?
I mean, that would be. That'd be almost a doubling the money I'm making now.
Yeah.
I'd have the time freedom. I could continue invest, and so I'll maintain, like, the lifestyle I want to live.
100%, man. So if you really had to sit and think about it besides investing, because we all know we need to reinvest money, at the end of the day, it's just a vehicle. So you being able to double your income and have the time freedom, what difference would that actually make for you?
How am I actually be able to travel?
Oh, how so?
Yeah, I mean, like, well, right now the only travel I get is when I'm going from site to site. Yeah. So to actually be able to travel and see the world, I mean, that would be pretty cool.
Yeah. Is there any. Any place specific you'd want to go?
Iceland would be really cool.
Oh, that's a. That's an interesting one. It's the first time I've heard that. Why Iceland?
I mean, me and my girlfriend have wanted to go out there for years. Just beautiful place. I've heard they got, like, black sand out there. Really? Yeah. So it's a. It's a pretty cool place.
Yeah. Is there a certain, like, town or certain, like, tourist destination in Iceland or what's going on?
There's no. No final destination yet, but it's definitely on the bucket list of where to hit.
No I get it, man. Yeah, traveling is definitely an interesting one. So where do you feel like that drive to travel comes from or like, why is that so important to you?
Well, I mean, on my girlfriend's side, her family's never traveled just because I haven't had the financial opportunity to do that. Yeah. And as a kid, my family and I, we would do that, but kind of died off in later years.
Yeah. So you've really been able to provide for you a better lifestyle, but also like your girlfriend as well. Okay, so you being able to. To provide just on a. On a different level, but also have that time freedom, you know, can go to Iceland, I guess. Like, what does that do for you? Like, personally?
I mean, like, it would make me feel good. Yeah.
How so?
Yeah, I mean, like being able to actually just hop on a plane and go wherever we want, whenever we want, that's a pretty damn good feeling. I can imagine.
No, I get it, man. Because if you really, if you just, if you sat and you thought about it for a second, like, you sitting there, you're in Iceland, you're with your girl, black sand beach, and just you got no worries, you can actually relax at that moment. Like, how would that feel?
Probably the. Dude. Yeah. Like, I can't even put that in words. That. That just feel amazing. Yeah, man.
I do have to ask though, with what you're currently doing now, if nothing does change with what you're doing for work or just the skill set you have, like, how likely is it that you're ever going to be able to get to that beach and. And live that lifestyle?
Not very close now. Yeah.
Why not?
Just because I wouldn't. I would have no idea on where to start and how to actually start that lifestyle.
Like, and I can appreciate that because like, again, like I told you, I've been in your shoes before. Do you mind if I tell you a quick story?
Of course. Yeah.
Because like, like me, my dad grew up in the trades too, so. And I was always cognizant of, for me, knowing what I was going towards, like, knowing what I was running towards was definitely really important because I'm a very driven individual. But really what allowed me to, to break out of the mold and take that risk I've never taken before, was just understanding like, what I was running away from. Because I don't know about you, but I'm scared to death of being average. Like, I grew up in a small town, my dad's trading.
Okay.
So it scared the shit outta me. Cause I knew if I Stayed and did exactly what he did. Then I'd have that same pain in his voice every time he told me we couldn't do something. Or the same pain he has in his voice right now of all the things that he should have done, but he didn't. So you got to be real with me. If you don't do anything about this, if you keep doing what you're doing now, tearing down your body, stuck in a job, and you're never able to actually travel and have that freedom, what impact is that going to have?
You'll be working the same job I always have.
Yeah, but what would be the day to day impact of that, man? Be real.
I mean, like, I wouldn't. I wouldn't be able to see my girlfriend as much. Probably wouldn't be able to actually start a family because I'm working the 80 hour weeks. I'd just probably be miserable. Yeah.
And if you're a year, two years, three years down the line, if you take a look back.
Like, how would.
That actually feel if you didn't take that leap?
I would not feel stupid.
So are you willing to allow that to happen?
No.
Why not?
Yeah, well, I mean, I'm. I'm here now. I'm on the call. I want to make a change.
Yeah, well, it's like showing up to the gym versus doing a diet plan and working hard every single day. Two wildly different things. You get what I mean?
Yeah.
So are you actually committed to change? Because we don't sell no magic pill.
Yeah, I'm committed.
But why? Why now? Because you can be that guy who's like, new Year, new me. We keep kicking this down the road. So it's like, why do anything now?
Well, I've been. I've been that guy for the last three years and I don't want to be him anymore. Right.
So time to time to make a change then.
Yeah. Okay. Cool, man.
You sound pretty serious about it. I mean, because based off what you're telling me, especially when you're talking about I'm just going to it.
Holy fuck. That was like the. He goes, so this is what I teach my mastermind. Get. That was different.
Yeah, you got to get into it, bro. That was deal with biz op, people. I didn't turn the AC on. It got hot.
Yeah, that's hot in here too. It's like 80, but. Holy, dude, that was good. Okay, four minutes. Appreciate your time. That was well worth money.
Wow.
Holy. I'm gonna rewrite my old script tonight.
Yeah, so it's like, the biggest thing is, I would say, on some level, be able to connect with these people.
Yeah.
Okay. So some of these things, like my dad does. He didn't. There he is. They, you know, he does trades. And literally one of my biggest motivating factors is I love my dad, but I was not gonna live the life that he lived. Right. So it's like, because we have had conversations of all the things that he didn't do, and, like, that really struck a chord with me. So it's like. So you have to find that, like, in yourself, like, what are your consequences? Okay, this is what I was talking to people in the Mastermind today about. Like, when we're talking about handling objections and pre. Handling. Especially, like, when you're going into consequence, like, what are your consequence? Like, you open yourself up a bit to them, and it also shapes how they're going to answer. Because the reason I use that is because they'll put themselves in the position of, oh, if I don't do anything about this, I'm gonna have. I'm gonna have to talk to my kids with pain in my voice. And, like, that just hits, like, on a whole different level than, well, what happens if you don't go to the beach? You know what I mean?
Yeah. Like, I. I was. I thought I was nailing consequence too. Now I feel like, fuck, I could completely redo consequence. Now. The only phase I feel good about.
Is transition and solution awareness.
He goes, hey, you know how you felt good about this? Just give me that real quick. Yeah, okay. No, that was.
But if you also notice in the top half, a solution as well. Like, I needed a belief.
Yeah, you. That was.
So we. We looped around until you told me you were scared. Because that's what I need if I get the. Oh, well, I just didn't know where to look. Like, we both know that's bullshit. Like, you, bro, you got Google, you know, like, you got YouTube.
Yeah.
So it's like, if I allow that to be the thing I attack, then I'm not actually attacking the core, which is I've been scared because of my family growing up. Nobody has ever done anything like that. Basically, it's like, are you willing to take. Take their advice or take their lead when they're not where they. You want them to be, but they're not where you want them to be? Or you. They're not where you want to be?
Take that back. I just feel good about transition now. Only F. Okay, now this is good.
The more you dial it in, like, you'll just start to see these different things. Because, like, what can come up for somebody like that who's been stuck in something like, their entire life is I need to shatter their worldview, like, legitimately. I need to shatter their worldview because he's like, somebody like, that's been doing this, and if, like, their parents have been doing it their entire life too. Like, do you know how much, like, just years of reinforcing the same that, like, a person like, that would have.
So I had a lineman, dude. And the. On the only reason I felt like I got him because I almost lost him. Straight up, almost lost him. But I hit him again in the end with consequence of, like, what happens if you have to tell your kid about this? And that was the only thing that got him over the end. And he's like, it, let's just do the 2K. Like, payment plan. Yeah, I was like, so.
But you see, like, if I ask consequence that way, I'm getting a juicy consequence out of him because he's gonna have to think about, yeah, what if I do have to tell my kid? Like, that's why I ask it that way.
That's good. All right.
Right. But again, use your own stories.
Yeah.
Don't feel your crap if you. Well, it's like, it just won't come across authentic. Like, that's the biggest thing. Like, I can talk about that because, like, that's true to me. Like, what are your legitimate consequences?
No, like, for me, it's kind of the same thing. It's like being average. Like, just staying in that crappy lifestyle of just normal.
Yeah. So it's like, you, like, that's real. Talk to them about that.
That's good. Okay. Yeah. I got another call after this. I'm gonna be like, bamboozled, because now I want to use this. But I'm like, don't throw your stuff out the window.
Just. Just. Just role play, role play. Get comfortable with it first before you just try to be like, okay, now I'm just gonna sell this way. But there's like, there's just a couple different things that you can do to just, like, make it to where they shouldn't tell you. Any objection at the end.
Yeah, that's true. All right.
And if they do, it's a quick, like, five minute, like, slap on me. Let's do this. Yeah, you're right.
Okay. This was golden. Get this uploaded as fast as you can. I want to be listening to this tonight.
