Christian Polk bought his father a Jaguar XKR two years ago. He credits learning sales, not luck, with earning the money to give it. Polk argues that mastering sales unlocks financial opportunities and lets you take real risks.
So 2 years ago, I bought myself my first sports car. Nothing crazy, a Jaguar XKR. And I remember telling my dad about it, and he told me that it made him cry. It was because I did something that he could just never do, or he could never picture himself doing, especially at my age. That broke my heart because my dad is the hardest working person that I know. It's just like he didn't take any specific risk because of how he grew up. And because he didn't take any risk and he played it safe, it allowed me to take risk. So what I did is I gave my sports car to my dad, because more than anyone else I know, anybody out there making like internet money, my dad deserves a sports car. And what allowed me to do that is the skill set of sales, being able to make money, being able to communicate. Wasn't luck, it was skill. So So if you learn the skill of sales, it will unlock every single door that you can possibly think of.
