The real reason why most closers stay broke

Christian Polk argues that high-ticket closers stay broke because they set realistic goals. To hit $50k-$70k monthly, you need an unrealistic vision and unreasonable execution. He uses Elon Musk demanding SpaceX compress a ten-year timeline to six months, delivered in eight.

Most closers stay broke because they're too realistic and too reasonable. In order to make $50,000, $60,000, $70,000 per month in commissions, you have to be unrealistic with your vision and you have to be unreasonable on how to get that vision. So when we're talking about setting unrealistic goals, if you're asking yourself like, hey, can I hit that goal, you're already limiting yourself by how you're asking the question. You need to ask a better question. If I had to hit it, how would I hit that goal? For example, when Elon Musk first went out to create the rocket that could catch itself and they could reuse parts. He went to the engineers and he asked them, hey, how long would it take in order to build this? They told him, hey, a realistic number is going to be 10 years. Did he just accept that? No, he was unreasonable and unrealistic and said, fuck that. If we had to do it in 6 months, what would the plan be? Go ahead, create a new plan. If we had to do it in 6 months, what would it be? They came back, had a new plan, and then they followed that plan to a T. They were unreasonable following that plan, and then they got there in 8 months. So 10 years down to 8 months just by being unrealistic and unreasonable when it comes to your goals. So if you want to make the type of money, $50,000, $60,000, $70,000 plus each and every month, you have to be unrealistic and then unreasonable in terms of how you actually get there. So ask yourself, if I had to hit the unrealistic goal, what would the plan I need to follow in order to get there? And be unreasonable in terms of following that plan to a T. And if you do that, you will hit that goal.
