This Is Why You Can’t Overcome Partner Objections (Costing You $$$)

Christian Polk shows why "I need to talk to my partner" is usually a stalling tactic masking real objections about time, money, or value. He breaks down three belief shifts that help you move past the deflection, then walks through live calls with clients Jared and Ethan to show what works and what doesn't.
Right now, you're losing out on thousands of dollars each and every month. If you're getting to the end of your sales conversation and your prospect is telling you, I need to talk to my wife or I need to talk to my partner, and we do not know how to overcome it. As somebody who's closed over $6 million in sales and overcome a ton of partner objections, in this video, I'll show you the two biggest mistakes that salespeople are making that's preventing them from actually overcoming the partner objection. And I'll be taking you through what to do differently so you can actually start overco those partner objections so you can make more sales. And if you stay till the end, I'll be breaking down two different live sales calls, examples of clients of mine, when they ran into the partner objection, and show you exactly in a real life situation how to get those people across the line. Before we go over the two big mistakes, first and foremost, we need to understand that a partner objection can and should be overcome. If we're getting to the end and somebody tells you that they need to talk to their wife and we do not try to overcome that, you're leaving thousands of dollars on the table. Oftentimes, there is something underlying beneath that and it needs to be uncovered. So that brings me into mistake number one. People treat it like it's a real objection when it is a smokescreen. So if you're getting to the end of your conversation and somebody tells you just straight off the bat, you've gone through the price, you've gone through everything, oh, I need to talk to my wife. And we just go right into trying to overcome the partner objection. Oftentimes we're not going to be addressing the real thing. Why? Because typically when somebody says right off the bat that they need to talk to their partner, it is a smokescreen. They're saying that they can't move forward because a third party who's not there. So what you need to do, and what I always do is I need to flush that partner objection into a real objection because there are only three real objections. Time, money, and value. So what I do to flush that objection to something that I can actually tangibly handle is I'll ask him what that conversation is going to be about. It's going to go as something like this. They say that they need to talk to their wife. Oh, this sounds great. I just need to talk to my wife. Okay. And that's, that's not a problem. Just to see what best information I need to send over to you. What's that conversation mostly going to be about? Just to see if I can help. What that does is, number one, it's very nonchalant and it diffuses the objection. And number two, I flush it to a real objection. Nine times out of 10, they need to talk to the partner about the money. And the reason why I want to flush it to a different objection first is because oftentimes if you handle that objection, the partner objection goes away. But if not, I need to make sure I tick every other box before I overcome the partner objection. Because what can happen is I can spend 30 minutes overcoming somebody's partner concern, but they still can't move forward because they don't have the money for it. So I need to flush it to a real objection that I can handle right away. So use my word tracks to make sure you're flushing it to a real objection. The second big mistake I see people fall into is they're not able to shift somebody's beliefs when it comes to the partner objection. Understand, when you're handling any objection, there is an underlying belief behind that objection. And it is our job as salespeople to help them shift that belief. For example, when somebody tells you I don't have the money, there is a belief behind that statement. They're saying, I don't have the money, but therefore I do not get what I want. I as a salesperson need to help them make the shift to I don't have the money, but I can get resourceful to find the money to get what I want. I need to get them to make that shift in their mind. When it comes to the partner objection, there's three big shifts that we need to help the prospect make. Number one is understanding the responsibility. Number two is shifting it from not having the conversation to what conversation would they rather have? And number three is the only thing that really matters is going to be commitment. So let's take it down to number one, the responsibility. When somebody gives me a partner objection, like I said before, I'm going to flush it to a different objection, get more buy in and making sure everything else is crossed off, that they're bought into the program and they're actually committed to make the change. Then from there, I need to make a shift to get them to admit that they are the one that is responsible for getting the outcome that they're looking for. So I'll ask who is responsible for getting your outcome? And if you've done a good enough job, they will say it is themselves. Now, typically I like to get a bit visual here. And I'll use what I call the crown analogy and what it is. It's an analogy heavy as a head that wears a crown. And I'll take you through it. When somebody says it's my responsibility, I'll go through and be like. And I can appreciate that because it reminds me of the phrase, like, heavy as a head that wears a crown. Have you heard that phrase? Like, yes. No. It doesn't really matter what they say. It's like. It's an old Shakespeare quote. It's like a. It's a king's crown. And it's not heavy because of, like, the gold or the jewels. It's heavy because the king has the burden of responsibility, like that person who is responsible, who has to make the tough decisions. Like, that's heavy. So given you're the one that's responsible for a, B and C, is it going to be fair to your wife if you try to take off that crown and put it on their head like, no, you should get a no. I've never got anybody say yes. Okay, so if they say, yes, go back to go, do not collect 200. You did something wrong, you done messed up, Aaron. Then from there, you're going to ask them why. It's really important that when somebody takes a step in my direction, I ask them why. It's a little bit of a pushback. So what that will do is it'll cause them to dig themselves deeper into the position that they just took. So when I ask them why it wouldn't be fair, they're going to tell themselves even more why it's not fair for them to put that responsibility on them. Then that brings me to step number two is I need to shift the conversation from not. Not having the conversation with their partner. It's we're deciding what conversation that they will have with their partner. Because you need to explain to your prospect whatever decision that they're going to make, whatever way they're leaning, that their partner is going to feed off of their conviction. So how I'll go through it is I'll explain. I'm not saying don't have the conversation with your wife. What I'm saying is there's two different ways we can have this conversation. Because you can go to her with a big bill to pay and all these problems. Or option two is you can show her exactly how you've solved your problems and the steps that you have taken and really lead her to that decision. Which conversation would you rather have One, why would you want to have that conversation? So what I'm doing there is I'm shifting the belief. It's not that don't have a conversation, don't talk to your spouse, don't talk to your partner. It's what conversation would you rather have? Because they're going to feed off of your conviction. So do you want to lead them and show them that you are serious about this when you have that conversation and get buy in on that? Not going to them with all these problems and now they have the big bill to pay? Once I get buy in that they want to have a conversation and help lead them and show them that they're serious about this, then from there I'm taking and I'm shifting. It's not about the money, it's about the commitment. So how I do that is once I get the buy in that, oh yeah, I definitely want to lead them to that decision. Why do you want to lead them to that decision? Oh, because of this, this and this. Okay. And I can appreciate that. And money. That's not the important part. Money is the easy part. The hard part is that commitment to change because change is uncomfortable. So are you actually committed to change? So what can we do to make sure we're taking that step forward and we are committing to change? What can we do so that way we can get them to tell you what they can do and what you can also do as well? Again, if it would help, this tends to help me is I will take away the risk in a humorous way. For example, if I am selling somebody something that makes them more money and I'm selling a man, once I get all those different things at the end, I'm like, okay, are you committed to change? And if we move forward right now and your wife tells you like, no, John, you're gonna make way too much money. Buy a portion. Leave me for a 21 year old. Like, if she tells you that, like, we'll give you your money back. The money's not important. What's important is that we take that step forward and we actually make sure that we change. Typically that's gonna get a laugh and then you can just move forward from there. And to really hone in on these points, we'll be breaking down two sales conversations where each of the rep fell into one of these different mistakes. The very first call is going to be one of my clients, Jared. Now he's closing 60 to 70%. But this is one of the, you know, three out of 10 that got away and in this call, what he fell into is he wasn't handling the actual concern that was coming up. So let's take a listen, take notes, and I'll break down exactly where he went wrong, how he can approve to get prospects like that across the line. So again, we can get him up to 80 and even 90% close.
Right.
All right, let's dive into this call.
Okay.
George, I just.
I like to go over. Yeah, what's. So what's the pricing for both?
Yeah, yeah, for sure. For both, you said.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah.
So for the 1.0, the. The investment comes out to 3K.
Okay.
And then for the 2.0, the investment comes out to 6.
Okay.
If you were to split it into three payments, we could do three payments of 1833amonth in a 500 discount.
Yeah.
Or if you do prepay in full, Reuben actually runs a special for coaches who do that. He'll drop it a thousand bucks to just 5K.
Okay.
Okay.
That's it. And you don't got to worry about it.
Okay.
Which of those were you leaning towards?
Man, to be honest, I would like to go over, think about. I'm thinking about maybe taking some out of my, my business and savings account and maybe doing the full one. I want to think over it because I want to. Because when I, When I'm committed towards something, I'm going 100. So there's more consideration in it. But I'm thinking. I'm thinking the second one. So I do have that accountability.
But. Yeah.
So I'm just gonna talk over it, think about it. But I think I might go with that one, to be honest, because again, I mean, if I can have that push and it will probably help out a lot. Yeah.
Why is the accountability important to you?
Because if I know I have someone that like, like can keep. I mean, I. I feel like I will stay committed, but I know that if I know there's someone like, yeah. That's going to be looking back at it and keeping me accountable, I can always think back on that and kind of that can be that, like, motivation for its like, for, like, if I have a day where I'm like, you know, I. I work two jobs today. I don't know if I want to make a video. I know I'm supposed to post today, I can look back on that and be like, okay, I have someone that's going to look back on it. Okay, let me do this. And then I can go after it.
So, yeah, 100, man. Well, and some people are like, Some people aren't. Because really what, you know, accountability, what that looks like from a coach's perspective is telling you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
Noted.
Are you okay with having a coach that. That does that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So why is that? You can get him to just expand on that more, but that's really good. You're getting him to expand on, like, why he needs to be held accountable and why that's, like, why he's open to it and that he is open to it. Well, it'd give you a lot more free reign right now as far as, like, handling any concern.
Concern.
Just to make sure I do send you the most relevant info.
Right.
Because I know you said you want to take some time to think about it and stuff. I guess, like, what is it that that's coming up for you now that makes you want to do so what.
To commit towards this process, to go.
And think about it.
Just because, I mean, I mean, it is, again, not the cheapest purchase, you know, And I'm very. I like to think about a lot of things. I feel like I will gain the most out of this for sure. But yeah, I'm just. I know I made. I bought a lot of courses in the past, and I just want to make sure I'm doing the right decision. That makes sense.
So. But I like. He kind of. He just kind of like shotgunned a bunch of objections at you. But he did. He mentioned price now. He's mentioned it a few times. So I would go down the money route personally.
Haven't had a course. I had a lot of courses where when people would reflect and show all the information, there would be some things where I'm like, okay, I might gain some stuff from that. I may gain some stuff from that with this course. Every single thing. I literally told you the past two calls I said I needed help with. So when you reflected on this course and all those things I needed help with, it kind of opened my eyes to the sense that this is probably the thing that will help me out the most.
Sounds like you did a killer job in discovery.
Again, if I. All the questions and the things I need help with that I asked you about, that course is going to explain that. So.
For sure, man.
Yeah. Yeah.
Well, money aside, like, this is something you feel.
Good job, man.
Percent confident that, like, you would move forward with it.
Yeah, you know, 100%.
Yeah.
I don't. Again, like, I. Like I said, I in person is great. And I mean, you get a more surreal sense of accomplishment with your clients. But I still want to grow in that sense. And I don't. I need. This will be the best start for me to literally, like, fully commit towards this process because I've been.
Well, why actually invest in yourself to fully commit to the process but get a deeper. Like, get a good.
Why that. I've been waiting for a while to finally Launch and like go 100 towards online, but I haven't had the confidence till now. So if I didn't take a. Take a shot at it, I would have a drag and probably feel demotivated. So having this help would help out a lot.
So 100 man. So is it. Is it fair to say that maybe there's like a little bit of nerves. Nerves here?
Well, 100 with all things. I mean, if you know that you're going to try to.
I would try to get like that why of like, why does he want. Like, why actually invest in himself to go online or whatever it is.
100 towards it. There could be a sense of like, could you fail even though you're putting all this work in. You know. But I mean, still with it comes.
Yeah.
Comes a commitment towards certain. I mean, with most things, if there's. If there's not that sense of where you have to reflect on it.
Because right now. So he's throwing a lot of things at you. Like, that's what's happening right now. But it's. It's a bit unclear on what the actual objection is. Now my hunch is because he said get it out of his savings, his business, something like that. That he just. He doesn't have that money liquid at the moment. That's what my hunch is telling me. Now we don't know unless we clarify. But that's why we want to make sure we fully flesh out the money first before we move on to anything else. Because no matter what he says after that, if he literally just doesn't have the money in his bank account, we're just. We're fighting the uphill battle at that point.
See if this is the right path. You know, I, you know, if that makes sense. I don't know.
So, man, that's a good thing, though. Like, you're supposed to feel that way.
Yeah, exactly.
When was the last time you were outside of your comfort zone?
That's.
That's exactly it. It's like I built a comfortable sense of doing in person. I mean, I used to not feel like that. I used to be nervous for every single session. But. But now I got to Not a plateau, but it's like I'm maxing out, like, a lot of the things in person. I mean, there's always more I could do. Right. Like, but still, it's like I'm. I. I'm at a point to where I'm making a good amount. You know, I know everyone in the gym. You know, I've been even trying to network outside of the gym, and I know a lot of people in this area and stuff. People in different areas of. Of Florida. And it's like, you know, it's like it. Where can I grow from here? You know? And I feel like that would be the next step, you know, so.
100, man.
Yeah.
And like, I get it because I've. I've definitely been there too, man. Um, can I. Can I make a suggestion?
Yeah.
Because. Because right now you really have, like, two choices.
Right.
Choice one is to allow those nerves to. To really hold you back.
Yeah.
Stay inside your comfort. And then choice two is to. To really, like, feel those nerves and then to use them to push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
True.
And allow yourself to really grow into the opportunity of being that online fitness coach like you want to.
Yeah. But before.
Before I get anything else, man. Like, has ever been a time in your life where you had to bet on yourself and you felt the fear, but you did it anyway?
So we set it up really nice. It's just like, finish, finish a loop. So which one would you rather do?
And you got, like, a good result.
Yeah.
I mean, in person, personal training, that was not an instant thing for me. You know, it's like having to market without having an outland and gym. That was pretty hard. There was a commitment towards having a market with business cards, flyers, website design, and then all those other things to market.
Right.
Paying for all the marketing side of things and not gaining anything immediately. So.
100, man.
So, yeah.
How did it feel like knowing that you stepped outside of yourself and you did it anyways and then you got. You're killing it now.
Yeah.
Once I. Once. I feel like I do lose that sense. You know, whenever I'm. I. I do get better, I lose that sense quick and then strive for the next goal.
Right.
So sometimes, like, I. It's hard for. To reflect on where I was at before because I'm always striving for the next goal. So it's kind of hard to. Sometimes I do reflect back and I'm like, wow, I was not at this place. So it does. It does feel good sometimes. For sure.
100% man.
Well, it's.
Because this really is nothing different, man.
It's.
You feel the fear, you do it anyways, and you get the result.
Yeah.
And so the tough question I had to ask is, like, what happens if you allow that fear to. To stop you, man?
It would definitely hold me back, you know? Yeah, I really so.
And, like, it's a good question of, like, what are going to be the consequences? But I would want to ask, which one would you rather do first? Allow it to constrict you or shape you into taking massive action? Get him to say, like, oh, I want to shape that feeling and taking massive action. Why would you. Why would you want to do that? Oh, because I know I need to change. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I do have to ask. So then you can go into consequences.
Really?
Yeah.
I don't. I don't. I don't like to not take opportunities, you know, so it would. It would drag me. It would be something I would think about a lot for sure.
So are you willing to settle for that?
How do you mean by drag you, though? So be. So be real. Like, I want to really dig into this consequence right here to tie off that loop. How do you mean by drag you, though? So if you really had to. Had to picture it, man, like six months, a year from now, more time goes by and we don't actually do the things we know we need to do and we stay exactly where we're at. What type of impact is that going to have, like, on your day to day, being, being demotivated like that. Demotivated? That was his word.
No, not at all.
You don't really struggle like the kind of person that would.
Right?
Yeah.
Have you ever heard of the concept of, like, be. Do have a bit.
Yeah.
So when he said, like, no, I'm not willing to settle for that. Why not?
Right.
Just get him to expand on it more. Get him to start talking and convincing himself. So right now our frames are really landing and we're doing well. There's really good rapport here and you know where you're going as far as, like, what you're handling. Okay. Probably should have got a little bit more clear on the money, but there's a little too much of us doing too much talking rather than him getting to buy into our frames and allowing him to expand and talk himself into it.
Okay. Nice. Nice. Yeah. So then, you know, like, it's. It's more of a mindset, right?
Yeah.
People, they. They think more backwards where it's like, once I have X, I can do Y and I'll be Z. Yeah. But being that six figure coach, like, yeah, it's about the right skills and the marketing and all that kind of stuff, but really it's about like being courageous and leaning into that fear and stepping into who you know you're capable of being.
Yeah.
Because when you're that six figure coach, man, like you hold yourself to a different standard.
Yeah.
100%.
And so like for you to like grow into that six figure coach, like naturally things have to die off. And so for you to like actually make that shift, like what do you feel like needs to die off?
That's a good question. I don't, I don't know. I think I just have to expand my, my goals and needs and realize that I can do a lot more than I think, you know, but realistically, that sense of like feeling accomplished and settled to where I'm at, I don't have that feeling. You know, I'm always driving again to do more. So at that sense, in that sense, I don't have to worry about feeling like I'm good where I'm at.
Mm.
So I'm always striving to do more, but I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. It's just taking that commitment, you know?
Yeah.
So why is that commitment so important?
You committed to, to making that change so you can grow into that next version of yourself.
Yeah, yeah. No. 100%.
That's the hard part, man. It's like being willing to commit to yourself and to make that shift.
Yeah.
And so to bring it back to what we were talking about earlier, man, we have those two choices, Right. We can allow the nerves to hold us back or you can feel the nerves and allow it to push you forward.
Yeah.
How do you want to move forward from here, man?
I've, I would like to commit towards this. I do, I really do.
Awesome, man.
Yeah.
How do you want to take care of it?
Is there a way for me to. I want, I do want to go over it with, with my parents, you.
Know, see, because we didn't fully tie off the money, like I don't know if financially he can do it. So it seems like the parent or partner objection here is more about a money thing.
That's what I'm hearing right now because again, yeah, just. But this isn't, this isn't like. I know in a marketing perspective there's a lot of people that say that. Right. Leave and then forget about it. The users has a way to get out.
Right.
To not commit To. To say, yeah, I'll think about it, you know? Right. But I want to tell you that this is because I really want to commit towards this process. I want to figure out how I can move forward, but going, like, I want to tell my parents. Okay. I want to commit to this. I'm going to be paying this much. Okay. I'm fine with that because I'm willing to commit towards this process. But I don't want to go out of the blue, say, hey, I did this. All right. I do want to go over with them and tell them what I'm going to do, but I want to commit towards this. This isn't something I'm trying to steer off. I've been waiting.
Yeah. So he's saying that the most. The main conversation is going to be about the money. So I would just make sure we tie off the money, and it's something.
He can do while to commit towards this process. And I think having this opportunity and having this phone call is that kind of realization where I need to start, you know, going after it. So.
100, man. Yeah, I can appreciate that, man. Because it is important to get an outside perspective. And so I. I do want to ask, man, have you ever heard the phrase, like, heavy is the head? Who wears the crown?
I have it. No.
Yeah.
Which again, good frame to go into. I know I use it a lot, but we need to make sure we set it up. So he kind of told you what the conversation is going to be about? I'd probably still clarify. What. What mostly are you going to go over with them just to see. See if there's anything I can help with on my end. Okay. Make sure we tie off money. Money is still, like, lingering in the background. I don't know what this kid can do. Okay. Once we understand, like, what he can actually do, then we can start to overcome, like, the partner objection. I always make sure I have everything else tied off before I get to the partner objection. Because it doesn't matter how well and how much urgency I build. If literally he doesn't have the cash, he don't. He doesn't have the cash.
Okay.
So just make sure that it's something we tie off. And then from there it's like, okay, well, what? Like, is it more just kind of like letting them know, or are you more asking for permission? Oh, I'm just, like, letting them know. Well, I do have to ask. Kind of mind playing a little bit of devil's advocate because, you know, they don't know much or maybe they don't know much about us or they're not really into the online fitness world. Like, what happens if you go to them? And again, like, for whatever reason, just. They just. They say no. Like, what happens then? Oh, well, this or this. I'll still do it. I want to get them to say, like, I'll still do it. Well, why would you still do it? Because, like, ultimately, I know you said you want to go, go, go, but whose responsibility is it that you get XYZ outcome? Oh, it's my responsibility. Then I can go into the crown for each frame. Yeah. Because it reminds me of the phrase, like, heavy is the head that wears a crown. You know what I mean? Have you heard that phrase before? Yes. No. And it's like a king's crown. It's old Shakespeare quilt. And it's not heavy because it's of gold or jewels. It's heavy because of the burden of responsibility. Because the king, the one who has to make the tough decisions, the one who is responsible, like, that's heavy. So would it be fair to your parents, given that you're the one responsible, to try to take off that crown and put it on their head? But why wouldn't it be?
It's a.
It's a. I think it's a Shakespeare quote where it's not heavy because of the gold and the jewels and all that stuff. It's because of the weight of responsibility that comes with wearing the crown. Because at the end of the day, whose choice is it to. To make the. To take the action you need?
Yeah. Yeah.
It's not whose choice I'd flip to whose responsibility. It's subtle, but it's important.
Right.
Well, it's my choice. I still just want to get their feedback. Well, it's my responsibility. I have to do the work. You know, I mean, so it's just different, like, choice versus responsibility.
Or is there your parents?
Well, at the end of the day, it's. It's my goals, my needs, and I'm the one that's gonna put in the work. So it is me.
Yeah.
So what happens if they tell you no.
Were my.
They.
They've been spending. They've. These are the courses they do.
They.
This is their thing. My mom builds online businesses for. For women to help them grow financially. My dad works and goes around as a. As a. He does veteran speeches and stuff like that and goes out and speaks and he does online coaching, stuff like that. They're not going to be down. They're going to be helpful with this. They're they're just gonna steer me in and I just want to get. This is gonna be down their alley for sure. I mean, they're the ones. I go out with them to the Aspire things and we do those together. This isn't new to them and they know that these are beneficial. This is how they grown to become really wealthy themselves. So I, I, they believe in these. I just want to go over them, tell them what it is, because I haven't really talked to them about what I'm, I'm gonna do soon. But they're, they're not, they're one to love these opportunities and take risks. So it is, it's not something that they wouldn't be down.
He didn't answer the question. Like, he saw it. Well, what happens if they say no? Well, they're not gonna say no. Right. Which a lot of people will try to do. It's like. And I can appreciate, we want to hope that they're not going to, but we do kind of have to peer down that path a little bit in case they do because, like, you know, they just not. Might, might not be familiar with what we do or really when it comes to, like, online fitness businesses, it's going to be a slightly different. So just for whatever reason, what happens if they do say no?
They would love this. So.
Yeah. Cool. Yeah.
No, actually that explains a lot about how you are, Kaden, in the type of person that you are, because you're a lot different than most 19 year olds I speak with.
Thank you.
Of course, man. But I ask these questions because, remember, as a coach, it's our job to ask those tough questions. Right?
Yeah.
To pull out the greatness in us.
Right.
So I respect that though, dude. Like, you got to talk to them. You want to talk to them. So what we could do is set up a time to hop.
Now go for it. Okay. Especially when you're talking to somebody who on some level is going to be selling to too. Right. I mean, there's a couple different ways that you could have just framed it a bit better and then really gotten, gotten to like, okay, well, it's my responsibility, so is it fair to put that on them? Like, no. So which conversation would you rather have? Like, you go to them, like all these problems, big bill to pay, or because they're going to feed off of your conviction, go to them with the plans of how you solved your problem and, and then showing them the first couple steps you took. Which conversation would you rather have with your parents? And again, for like, for whatever reason, if they're just like, totally on board, there's like, hey, Kaden, we're going to kick you out the fucking house because of what you just did. Like, if they tell you at that point, like, we could just give you the money back, that's not important. What is important is a commitment to change and something you can always do. Like, he's a. He sells things too. Like he sells fitness. Like he sells fitness programs, I assume. Right, right. Or that's what he's going to try to sell, so you can always put it back on him. Well, I mean, if you're talking to somebody and they know they needed to change and everything was lining up, but they told you that they needed to talk to like a partner, they need to talk to somebody else in order to make that change. Like, what would you tell them to try to help them? Why would you tell them that? Like, would you try to overcome that concern? Why would you try to overcome that?
Right.
You can start to, like, you could flip it back on them. Like, if you're in my shoes, how. How would you go about this? So those are just a couple things you can do. Like, overall, man, like, really conversational, really good as far as, like, like handling. Handling the concerns. So, I mean, really, really good on that front. I would say just a couple things. You can just be a little bit. A little bit tighter with some of the different frames and things that you're doing can definitely get us to the point where we need in the conversation always, though, make sure we tie off money, because it sounds like maybe logistically he can't right now and he has to like, move money around, like, I don't know, because we didn't dive too much into it because he talked about like a business savings plan or something like that. So I don't know what he meant by that. But overall it was decent as far as the objection handling. But if you, if you tighten some things up, like that guy, that guy's coming in, he was super bought into your frames. Just allow. Allow him to do more of the heavy lifting. Right? You don't have to do so much of the heavy lifting. On this second call is another one of my clients, Ethan, who's closing over 50%. And in this call, he didn't know how to shift the belief of talking to the partner. So we break down exactly how you can actually shift the belief to make sure we get him across the line. All righty, man, let's go ahead. Let's hop into this.
I'M still going to talk to my wife as well. So this is really interesting for me, you know.
Okay, so we got a partner. Objection. I don't know what led up to this point, but let's go about like, how are we actually going to try to overcome this?
Chat with yourself. Obviously what I want to do and how it's going to go and everything. I really talk to the family side first. If you can give me a bit of time to get back to you.
Yeah, yeah, that's not a problem. Like that happens all the time. So if you need to talk about our partner or talk to your parents. Not a problem at all. It happens more so. In fact, just so I know how I can best help, like what's that conversation going to be mostly about?
I think it's mostly about the income side of things.
The income side of things. In terms of like the investment to start the business or in terms of how much you can expect to make out of it.
So that's good so far. I would say don't overly justify like, oh yeah, like tons of people. Right. There's no need for. Okay. And that's, that's not a problem. And you can just go into it rather than like you could, you can overly justify it.
Well, invest on. In expect as well.
Okay, so can you help me understand what that conversation is going to be later?
I would say the investment for. Just to explain. For the income coming in to make them understand that obviously it's something worth its while and then moving forward from there.
Okay. And when you say like the investment. The investment for what? Exactly. Just so I can also get a.
Layer of land investment anyway, obviously from you guys helping.
Okay, so like the full 787. Sorry, first of like the, the course thing that they sell.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, that's not a problem.
So that side of things, obviously if, if I don't know anything about it, then obviously if I don't have that help, that mentor.
Yeah.
Forward. I can just say, yeah, I can go to the house and you know, you know, put advertisement over it and it's gonna, it's not gonna work, is it?
No.
Yeah, that makes sense. I get it.
Again, mental side of things. I believe, you know, it has worked for me. If somebody hasn't had a mentor in their life or I've experienced it, they wouldn't be talking.
Now he's saying like the finances and the return. I would go down the route. Like, does he have it? That's, that's where my mind went immediately. Well, it's like, is that the, the, the investment required, is that actually, like, doable for you to make sure we can actually start getting these homes and start getting passive income coming in? Right. So you can just ask it because right now it's, it's a little bit muddy as far as like, what objection is actually underlying the partner objection?
Like this. You know, I believe the mental side of things is really worth it because obviously if you don't know something, you're learning and you're expanding towards the learning side of things.
Yeah.
Okay, that makes sense. And so is this going to be more of a, like an FYI conversation? Like, for your information, I'm doing that.
Because I wouldn't go into that until I know, like, okay, like, yes, I have the money. And then I would also like, let's just say, yes, I have the money. It's just a conversation we need to have. Okay. And if they're on board and they're just like, they give you a thumbs up, like, would you do it? Yes. Why? Like, you get more buy in. Why actually invest in yourself? Then you can go more into. Okay, well, is this just more like asking for permission or you just kind of, you want to let them know? It's more like an FYI.
Yes. Or more of an asking for permission to do.
No, no, no, not for, for information. It's more of. What do you mean? Like who to who?
Like when you're speaking to your partner, because you mentioned that you wanted to speak to your partner to like, know whether you're going to do it or not. Is it going to be more than FYI?
See, we don't know exactly what the conversation is going to be about. Right. We didn't really clarify and it's a little bit muddy right now. So now he's like, oh, no, no, no. Right. So just slow it down. Don't assume.
I would say it's most likely to.
Yeah.
For, for information, as well as making sure that the understanding what I'm getting myself into in a way of. It's no. Nothing to be worried about because there's no fallback with you earning more.
If.
You understand what I'm saying.
Okay. So can you.
Yeah. What do you feel like. Would cause them to be worried.
Worried a little bit on that.
Like, so, so there's more income to come in. Obviously, if you invest. Invest into something you'll get. It'll come back to you.
Okay, that makes sense. And that, that, like. Can I share a perspective with that?
Sorry?
Can I share a perspective on that?
Yeah. Yeah.
Okay, cool.
Because, like, that reminds me of the. Like the saying, heavy as the head that wears the crown. You know, that thing.
No, no, no.
Yeah. Because, like, as a king or as the leader of the house or as the.
I would always ask them before I go into this, I guess, like, what. What happens if you. Now, again, I want to get more information up top as far as, like, is it something that fucking financially they can do, tie everything off? If they're on board, would you do it? Yes. Why? And then from there. Well, what happens if they say no? He didn't really answer the question. As far as. Is it more like an FYI, like, he said, information. I. I don't really know what he was talking about. So I make sure get clear, like, oh, it's just an FYI conversation. Yeah. Because what would happen if you do go to her and just, again, like, for whatever reason, you know, she's not really. Knows much about us, or she's not really into the whole investment space. Like, what happens if she says no? Okay. Can I make a suggestion? Ultimately, whose responsibility is it for you to get to your XYZ outcome? Oh, it's my responsibility. Right. Like, I want to get that first before I go into, like, a crown analogy. Yeah. And I can appreciate you being open with that because it reminds me of the phrase, like, heavy head that wears a crown. Have you heard that before? No. It's like, it's an old Shakespeare quote. It's like a king's crown, right? Like, and it's not heavy because, like, gold or jewels. It's heavy because, like, the king has, like, the burden of responsibility. Like, they're the person who has to make the tough decisions. You get what I'm saying? So would it be fair to her, given, like, you're the one that's responsible to try to take off that crown and put it on her? Well, why wouldn't it be?
