626 How to stop the income rollercoaster in 2025

In this episode of the Next Level Life Podcast, host Christine Corcoran addresses the common "feast‑and‑famine" income cycle that many female entrepreneurs experience. She begins by urging listeners to make a firm, personal commitment to end the roller‑coaster pattern, framing it as a "line in the sand" moment. The core of the episode walks through a step‑by‑step framework: (1) review historical revenue data to uncover seasonal, market‑driven, and personal patterns; (2) ensure offers are truly profitable using a profitability calculator; (3) shift money‑related mindsets from scarcity and hustle to abundance and alignment; (4) design a clear sales system (discovery calls, masterclasses, workshops, etc.) and embed consistent, repeatable sales activities; (5) align lead‑generation tactics with the identified buying cycles and create promotional plans for quieter months; (6) move away from hustle‑culture push tactics toward a balanced, value‑first approach that attracts high‑quality clients. Throughout, Christine intersperses motivational language and personal anecdotes, and concludes with a call‑to‑action to join the waitlist for her "Unstoppable Sales" coaching program, which offers one‑on‑one support and deeper work on the outlined strategies.

I hope that you are having a beautiful break over Christmas. If you're listening to this or if you're it's already 2025. Happy New Year. I hope that you are excited, feeling refreshed and ready to dive into an incredible year. I thought I would start the year or kind of end the year with talking about Drawing a Line in the sand. So if you've experienced rollercoaster income in 2024, there needs to come a point where you decide for yourself and for your business that that's no longer going to happen. You need to draw the line in the sand and I'm going to share with you the practical strategies in order to overcome it within your business. Yes, that's what this episode is all about. But first and foremost there needs to be that conviction, that commitment to your growth. Without that, everything else feels so much harder. You've got to draw that line in the center and be like, no, I deserve better. I deserve to receive income in my business. I deserve to have consistent income in my business and I'm willing to do what it takes to make that happen. So let this episode be that line in the sand and let me give you the practical strategies to overcome rollercoaster income. So let's first talk about feast and famine, because that's what's really the roller coaster. Another way to put it would be right the feast and famine cycle that happens within businesses. Now, over the years of your business, your business has shared data with you. But the first thing you need to consider is are you paying attention to the data? Are you extracting the patterns that your business shows you? Because sometimes the feast and famine isn't actually happening because of you. It's because of the market and the changes in season that happen within your business. So first and foremost you need to Go back and look at that data. Just by looking at how much money you brought in each month, every year since you've been in business. I know if you haven't done that type of data reflection, holy crap. You're going to learn so much through this episode. So go back through and look at your data, look at every month that you've made income, write down the amount of income that you've made and then next to it, write down what you did to bring that income in. A lot of people listening to this episode will not do this work. And this is why you're most likely having feast and famine within your business. Your business cannot thrive and survive without you looking at your data. Your data is going to give you so much information that you can learn from it and then take away the scarcity and take away the frustration and despair that happens when you have famine happen in the business when you have that drop. And so firstly, we need to know the patterns. What are the patterns of your business? Because sometimes you need to look at a couple of different things. So one, you would need to look at when other highs within your business. When are you making the most amount of money in your business? There's going to be certain months that are repetitive in your business. In the first couple of years, you're just kind of like figuring it all out, right? Like you're figuring out your target, target market, you're figuring out what works, what doesn't work. You're figuring out your offers, you're figuring out social media, like all the things, right? So the first couple of years, it's kind of going to be always naturally roller coaster. But once you head into like your third and fourth year, you should have some good data to look back on to be like, hey, why is this happening and when is this happening? First and foremost, is it happening because of what's happening in the market? Is it happening because of the season changes? So is it normal for your customers to invest in your business at certain times throughout the year? Definitely for me. Like, I find February is a big one for me, June is a big one for me, and then November is another big one for me. So why is that? Why is that? So you want to look at that. It's like, is it the shift in mindset? For me as a coach, it is. So people come into the new year, January is pretty hectic, but February, they're like, I don't want this to be the same as last year. So I'm wanting to actually get the support that I need. In order to thrive. And, and so that's when they people reach out. So people invest in their business. Same thing with June. We get towards the end of the financial year and we're like, again, I don't want to be in the same place next year. So what am I going to do to change that? I need to get a coach. Same thing in November, heading towards the end of the year. And they're like, okay, I don't want to start the new year in the same place. What do I need to do? I need support. And so they get a coach. So there's certain patterns that happen within your business and so you want to be conscious of that from a customer's perspective, the mindset shifts that happen for them in order for them to take the next step. Step. And then there could be other things that you might have specific sales throughout the year and you want to look at when have they worked best? You want to look at, is there any other things that impact your business? Is it certain public holidays? Is it certain school holidays? Is it times like an election or times like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, like end of financial year, like what are the things that impact your business income? So firstly, we want to look at that because we don't want to be taking a negative response or reacting to the dip in your income if you, if it's based on customers patterns. And so when we know that we can do something about it. So then we look at, okay, let's say you have a high in June, but let's say April or May acquire. So then we know what are we going to do in February, March in order to support the quieter months. So if you know people are more likely to buy from you just before Easter, what can you do? Is there a promotional thing that you can do? Is there a focus that you can have in order for your customer to know that you are ready to be worked with and it's time for them to invest in order to support the months. April, May, there's certain things that you can do within your business to prevent this type of income drop. And so I'm going to talk about the practical strategies as well when it comes to sales, which will stabilize your income. But the first things is just looking at the patterns. Creating consistent income is so important because I don't want you to be dipping in and out of scarcity and freaking out about paying your bills when there's certain things that you can be doing in order to prevent it. One is actually making sure that you have profitable offers and you're selling at times that actually serve the growth of your business. So if you haven't worked out whether your offers are profitable, you need to start there because that's obviously going to be impacting your bottom line no matter what. If you need help with that, you can check out the link in the show notes where I share with you the profitable offer formula and you can get access to that which has a profitability calculator to work on your offers. Okay, so definitely download that, it's free. And then start looking at your offers profitability first. So then you're going to the new year with strong numbers. Okay. Then we need to look at shifting your mindset around money. So when we're activated by scarcity, we usually make bad decisions in our business. So we want to make sure we're making positive decisions about money in our business. And so then we need to look at what are the belief systems and mindsets that I have around money that are impacting the way that I show up and manage my money, receive money, sell it all impacts our mindset and all impacts our actions and behaviors within our business. So if you're already having a mindset around money, that I don't feel comfortable asking people for it, or, or if I feel like when people pay me, they're, they're, I'm leaving them with less and so I'm taking their money. Uh, when you're not seeing the value in your offers and you're worried about people spending money with you and it feels like you're taking from them, then all of that shows up in the way that you charge, the way that you undercharge, the way that you over deliver, the way that you receive money into your business, the way that you spend money in your business, the way that you manage it. So your relationship with money can often be the impact or the catalyst that, that impacts roller coaster income. Right? So if you're avoiding your numbers, that would be a really big red flag. Right? So we need to make sure that we're building a really positive relationship with money and we're across our numbers and we're managing money really effectively in our business that impacts feast and famine massively. This is why I spend a whole month on it within unstoppable sales, because it is huge. When people do that module, they're like, oh, I see now I see why this has been happening in my business and why it's been happening in my life in general. And so when we shift our relationship with money and we start developing an Abundant mindset. It is much easier to attract money, but it's also much easier to really navigate what's happening within your business. All right, now let's talk about the practical strategies that you can do to stabilize your income. First things first is getting really clear on what your sales activities are and what the consistent habits need to be in order for you to make consistent sales. Right? You want to have consistent income, you need to have consistent sales. So what are the things that you do? What when it comes to selling, where do you even start? One is would be reflecting on where clients have found you from in the first place. What value do they need to see from you in order to invest in you and how can you develop that into a customer journey? So then you can actually increase the conversions and you can also speed up the conversions as well. So when we look at this within your business, there are certain things that you should be doing. And I so with this I'm giving general advice, obviously, because I'm trying to speak to everyone that's listening to the podcast. So depending on your type of business, there'd be different advice that I would give you. And this is what I do in Unstoppable sales is get really clear on what your sales activities are, what your money generating activities are that you need to be doing consistently that will serve the growth of your business, that will create consistent sales. So depending on the type of business that you do, there are certain ways that you sell. So working out what your sales system is to begin with, right? So how do you sell? Do you sell on a discovery call? Do you sell on a masterclass? Do you sell at a workshop? Do you sell with a consultation? Like there's certain things that you would do in order to sell. So we need to make sure that we're driving more people to those types of elements within your business. And if we have no focus around those, it can feel really confusing and really like uncomfortable to know, well, what do I actually do? Where am I driving people? So we need to determine what your sales system is first and then we determine what are the activities that are going to drive more people to those sales systems. So it helps to then take away the guesswork and helps to take away that confusion with like, where am I going to find my next client? And obviously working on lead generation is really important as well. But how do we convert those leads? So if you don't have a system in place, then that's where we can be leaving our income up to chance. So we get really clear on Your practical strategies and what you need to be doing consistently in your business on a regular basis, we need to make sure that that's building a habit within your business. So usually when I have someone join unstoppable sales, what often I find is that they haven't been doing any type of lead generation or they haven't haven't been doing consistent sales activities within their business. And that's why their income has been so inconsistent. One, they're not really sure what their system is, or they felt uncomfortable with sales, or they just, you know, didn't really have a focus or a plan around it. And so they were kind of just like flying by the seat of their pants. And so what happens is they'll get referrals come through, which is great, but they're something that you can't control. That just happens, you know, without you even realizing it. And then they come to you. Or they're so busy servicing their existing clients that they forget to spend time on sales activities. So this is where you need to build this into your business on a regular basis. Because if you're not doing that, that's what's most likely causing the feast and famine and causing the roller coaster. So if you're done with having that roller coaster happen within your business, it's time to start building in sales activities on a regular basis. Which does not mean selling constantly. I just want to highlight that does not mean selling constantly because that can be exhausting for your audience and it will not work because people will get annoyed with that and they just won't buy. It's making sure that you're nurturing, you're attracting, you're nurturing, and then you're harvesting. If you're not spending time doing that within your business, then that's where we could be missing out on opportunities to sell. And then secondly, it's really highlighting one on one conversations like how are you having more sales conversations? How can we increase the sales conversations? And the last thing I want to speak to is really breaking free from the hustle culture. Because hustle is like this push energy and this is where we get stuck in just push, push, pushing, where it's really not attracting consistent income. We've got to build a really positive relationship with money so then we can trust that money will come and we take the aligned action that will create that income. Right? It's building both sides of the of the coin. So it's the masculine and the feminine. When we're stuck in hustle, we're pushing and we're trying to make it happen instead of taking aligned action that's being guided and led by the feminine. I'm not going to dive into that, into too much depth, but it's shifting away from hustle culture is basically what I'm trying to get at is when we're in hustle culture, we're actually in lack and we're in scarcity. So we're not believing that more money will be coming. We don't. We're not really believing that there's enough clients out there. We've got to shift that hustle culture into believing that there is more than enough clients to go around, that the next client conversation that I could have will convert and trusting that you have an incredible service that people really need and they're willing to invest in. When you have that mindset, you are taking action from an aligned place and you're more likely to attract the right client instead of attracting a client that is just responding to your hustle energy and is most likely going to be a really challenging client to work with. So we want to attract the high level clients that are going to value what you do, appreciate you for what you do, and also want to invest in it. Right. It just takes away the battle, I guess is probably the thing the way that to describe it, we don't want to be battling for clients and to create that consistent income. We want to be adding value and we wanting people to see that value and want to actually invest. So I want you to think about how you're adding value. So stepping away from that hustle culture, we're adding value not from a place of wanting to get right. We're giving unconditionally, we're giving, trusting that that will absolutely serve you in the long run. So another thing that shows up with the clients that I have through unstoppable sales is that they've gotten lost in where they serve their customer and they're waiting for the person to pay them before they serve them. When really, if you want people to invest in you, they've got to see the value in working with you, which is based on the value that you're giving. So really, when you think about it, if you take the time to go, how can I add more value to my audience? How can I add more value to my ideal client? Then you can come from a place of giving and that reciprocal energy will happen and then people will want to invest in you. So I hope that these practical focuses help you shift the way that you think about rollercoaster income in your business and I hope that helps you draw a line to be like, hey, maybe some of these things that I've shared with you today that you haven't been doing and it's time to do them, or maybe you recognize that you need more support with this.
