Welcome back to five Minutes of Momentum.
Today I want to talk to you about scarcity thoughts and the sneaky scarcity thoughts that actually prevent your growth. This one that I want to share with you today has been showing up so much recently and I've been having a couple of conversations with a few people around it and it seems to be quite prevalent in Australia and New Zealand and it is definitely around kind of tied into like the tall puppy syndrome, but there's definitely a lot of lack around it. So when I talk about scarcity, I talk about having a lack mindset. So not believing that there is enough, right? So enough clients, enough business, enough money, enough anything, opportunities, all the things. And so this, these scarcity thoughts can play on our minds and prevent us from taking action in ways that could serve us to create more abundance. And so one of the ones that I want to talk to you about today is definitely the comparison thoughts. So when we see someone else win, when we hold ourselves back from celebrating that person's win, we are actually in lack. So I want you to start to pay attention. Like when you're thinking about supporting someone else or you're thinking about celebrating someone else or you're thinking about even just doing the smallest of things from sharing someone else's content or celebrating someone else on your stories, or commenting on someone's post. Like it's such a sneaky way that scarcity shows up and this lack mindset shows up by thinking, you know, sometimes you don't even know that it's happening, right? This is why I wanted to highlight and this is why it's so sneaky is because that deep down thought that we had, it's like, oh, if I share this, it might take away from what I will gain. So if I share this, then someone else might work with them rather than working with me. If I comment on them, then maybe a client will see that and they'll go work with them instead of working with me. Or if I go and celebrate them, what if I share their win? Or what if I celebrate them in some way, then I'm taking away from what's available for me or they're getting these opportunities, and I'm not getting these opportunities. And if I share theirs or if I celebrate theirs, then it's going to take away from what's available for me. And the reason why I'm sharing this with you in so many different scenarios is I want you to start paying attention to where you're getting stuck in that lack mindset, where you're getting stuck in the comparison. You're getting stuck in focusing on it being competition rather than collaboration. So I remember having a conversation with someone recently about this and, you know, being conscious of, like, conflict of interest, and you want to be absolutely conscious of that. But sometimes if the energy is right and such a great collaboration that will benefit your ideal clients, then sometimes you've got to push the thought of competition out the window. Honestly, the amount of collaborations that I've done recently, the amount of people that I've had on my podcast that, you know, do slightly similar things to me, like really just going, well, hang on a minute, like, how can I just lift this person up, right? I'm not putting them on a pedestal, but I'm just sharing them with the world. And I know without a shadow of a doubt that's not going to take away from anything that I do. And so when we're in that lack mindset, we're not believing that there is more than enough to go around. So I want you to notice that within yourself, where are you not sharing or celebrating somebody else? Where you could possibly be commenting on someone's staff or where you could possibly be supporting and encouraging and cheering people on, but you're so focused on your own stuff. You're so focused on you needing more money, on you needing more clients that you're not willing to give. And this is where you block your own abundance. If you are not willing to give, then you're not being open to receive. Whenever I have lack or whenever I have scarcity kick in for me, and I'm not don't have a lot of money, I think about, like, how can I give back? How can I give in this moment? And I don't mean like give frivolously or give where you give too much and then you're putting yourself into more scarcity or lack. I just mean in small ways. So I think about how I can give of my time. I think about how I can give of my love, my attention, my encouragement, how I can give of small little things. I might buy someone a coffee or I might, you know, celebrate someone or whatever it might be. Like, I'll do small little things which don't necessarily cost me a lot of money, but it's just showing the universe that I'm trusting that there will be more. I know more is coming. And so I want you just to acknowledge this within yourself and pinpoint like, am I holding myself back or getting stuck and staying in lack because I'm so fearful if I celebrate someone else or if I share or if I give in some way that I won't get back. And that's where you're focusing on the wrong thing. You've got to give to give and being open to receive. I hope this resonates with you and I hope you have a great week.
