693 - Are you pivoting too often? - 5 MINUTES OF MOMENTUM

Christine Corcoran warns that constantly changing your offer confuses your audience and kills sales. Once you have a course, program, or mastermind, commit to it for at least 90 days before pivoting. If something isn't working, check your reach, fit, pricing, and visibility before you change the offer itself.

Are you ready to get started? Let's go. Welcome back to five Minutes of Momentum. Today I'm going to talk to you about the possibility of you may be pivoting too often. When I talk about pivoting, I mean shifting and changing your messaging or what you're selling. Too often this has come off the back of a couple of different conversations that I've had within my masterminds, but also other conversations that I've had with people at events. And it's so interesting. Like when you're building your business, I think we would go through different stages. Like if you have built your profile, then you can pivot and bring people along with you. And so it's okay. Absolutely. You can pivot. Like, yes, we need to see what's happening in the market and we need to respond and adapt a thousand percent. But sometimes we may be damaging our business or we could be slowing our progress if we're pivoting too often. Right. And so we want to think about this from the perspective of our customer. What is our customer seeing from us and how are we creating a consistent message across the board that they know who we are, what we do, how we help, what results we get for our customers. If you were talking about too many different things at once for too long, and you're constantly pivoting and changing and doing all these things that can absolutely damage the progress of your business a hundred percent. And I've seen this time and time and time again. This is also why I feel like it's so important that you choose what you want to sell and you make sure that you sell it multiple times before you give up on something. So a program, a mastermind, a course, like whatever it is that you're wanting to sell especially is a one to many offer. I must highlight this. So in the beginning of your business, it's natural for you to pivot. Okay? Totally natural for you to pivot in a way that feels good for you because you're starting to fine tune who you are, what you do, who you help, and how you want to help them. That's normal, part of your progress and part of your evolution as a business owner. But if you are getting to like two, three years in, four years in, and you have developed some type of one to many offer, a course, a program, mastermind, whatever it might be, where you're selling to the masses and you're actually wanting to sell to multiple people at once, not just one to one, like one to one conversation or a one to one offering. If you are pivoting too often, you are confusing your audience. So if you're selling one thing one month, a different thing the next month, and then another thing again, then a month later you're most likely losing people in the process because they might be interested in the one thing one month one, and then that month two, you're selling something different. And then they're like, hang on a minute, what does she help you with? What's going on here? What am I? What? Oh, that doesn't sound right. That's different. It is absolutely damaging your business. I'm a big believer of really choosing and honing in on one thing that you want to sell. And if it's new, give it 90 days to sell it, right? Do a really good justice by you are backing that offer and go to sell it now. If it is a one to many offer, you will find that if it's a good offer and it fits your ideal client and what it is that they truly want and they trust you already, they that offer will sell in that 90 days. Now, it may not sell to the numbers that you hope it to, but it should sell. If it completely bombs, you always want to ask yourself a few questions. Did it get in front of the right audience? Because maybe you need to develop the audience that wants what you is what it is that you're selling, right? If you have the audience and it didn't sell, was the offer not the right fit? Was there something going on there that maybe you need to do a bit more market research to find out whether the offer was the wrong fit and maybe the price point wasn't the right price point, right? If it completely bombed, but if it's sold to a few people, you have proof of offer, right? So people wanted it, they saw it, they bought it, that's great. Then you may need to look at your numbers in regards to visibility to get in front of more people. Because when you're selling one too many offers and maybe you're doing it through a webinar, you're doing it through an event, or you're doing it through sales pages, whatever it might be, there are so many tweaks and you will find that you'll get better traction if you then over the next three months you then go to sell it again and then you do it again and again. And I found this like it builds a level of reputation and consistency with your audience and reliability that develops trust and they know what to come to you for. Right. But if you're chopping and changing between so many different offers and different types of services because you're trying to find the one thing that's going to hit, like you just want to ask yourself, am I giving it the amount of time that it deserves in order for it to see if it's a viable offer? And if you're not, because you're shopping and changing all the time, it's actually, you're creating more confusion than you are clarity for your audience. So really starting to consider that because sometimes we need to take a step back and be like, hey, can I just stick to one offer for three months, develop a name for myself and become known for this in my industry or in all industries. So then people know to recommend me. People know exactly how I help and how what I do for them and why they should work with me and, and that's when you start to create some really great traction. So I hope this resonated with you a lot. If you have any questions about it, feel free to reach out. And if you're feeling called to really step into support for your next level.
