Let's go. Welcome back to five Minutes of Momentum. Today I want to talk to you about the difference between proving your worth and owning your worth. Because firstly, it is so freaking exhausting to constantly feel like you have to prove your worth. And the thing is, this does not come from your clients. This does not come from them thinking you're not doing enough, being enough, creating enough, whatever it is enough. It's not, it actually stems from you. You must first believe in your own worth before you can stop having to prove your worth. So this can show up in a lot of businesses from a place of like feeling like you have to convince people to buy from. Feel like you are constantly having to give, give, give. So you're over delivering and doing more and more and more, especially when people pay you and then you're like, oh, I feel like that value exchange is off. So you feel like you have to keep giving in order for them to see your value, or, you know, just working twice as hard because you're trying to feel like you're enough. This is exhausting, absolutely exhausting and such a trap for so many ambitious women. And I want you to know that you absolutely can flip the script on this. You do not need to prove your worth. You need to believe in the value that you deliver in order for you to own it. So if you're constantly looking externally for that validation, for others to like you and others to see your value, it's a internal job first. You have to see it first before anybody else will. And that validation is no longer required. So what I mean by doing the inner work on this is because if you have developed a habit of this, as in your subconscious mind is always looking externally for that validation and then you feel good only when you get it, then you are always going to look externally for it. Now this is often created from childhood experience where we look to our caregivers to fulfill our needs and to love us and give us the attention that we needed, and if that wasn't met or if that was withheld, or if that was only given when you were being a certain way or doing a certain thing, then that could be where it stems from, right? So, for instance, when I was a kid, my dad was very closed off, very closed off, very stoic man. And really wasn't affectionate at all, right? And never actually really said he loved us. It was very much. He was stressed all the time, stoic all the time, and just did not know really how to communicate. And so when I was a kid, I looked to him for that approval because you do to. To a parent, to a caregiver, right? Our mom always gave unconditional love, right? So I got it meant from her. But because my dad didn't give it, I craved it from him. And so then going out into the world, into my adult years, I then looked for that from a plate, from a place of authority, right? So with any authority figures in my life, my bosses, other, you know, adults in my world, I look to them to validate me. And it was because I didn't get that need met when I was a kid. But then I did the work on myself. I did the work on myself to understand where that wound had come from. And then I understood that that love was still there. He just didn't know how to articulate it in a way that I needed my needs to be met, right? And so I did the healing work on myself in order to heal that part of myself. So I no longer then looked externally for that validation. Then and only then was I able to see the value in what it is that I was delivering for my clients, that I no longer needed to feel like I had to prove my worth. I saw the value in what I was delivering, understood that that was very in equal exchange for what I was charging. And then I was able to set clearer boundaries and not externally look for that anymore. I did that also by learning to acknowledge and validate myself. When you approve of yourself, you don't look for that externally anymore. So I had to reparent myself, right? That's what reparenting means, is you identify that a pattern that you learned as a child because your parents didn't give you the needs that you didn't meet the needs that you needed, and you learned to then give those needs to yourself. So now what I do, when I create something, when I'm doing something in my business, instead of looking externally for that validation, I ask myself, do I like it? Do I find it awesome? Am I happy with it before I go put it out to the world to open it to other people's opinions. Because if I'm only looking for that externally, you will always be looking for it. And that's when it becomes exhausting. So if you want to stop hustling, you want to stop feeling like you have to consistently prove your worth, you will always attract clients like that. You will always attract clients that will cause you to be in the same scenario that you had with your parents where your needs weren't met. Right? You have to work on yourself first before you then can own your worth so that it's not questionable, it's not debatable. And then you will attract clients that see your worth and value what you do and don't question it. It's a completely different shift internally. You have to believe in your worthiness before anybody else will. And then when you fully own it, everything else becomes so much easier. You don't have to constantly prove your worth. You don't have to constantly sell from a place of desperation or convincing. You can put in boundaries that become part of just who you are and what's expected of when it comes to who you work with and how people work with you. And your energy then becomes much more magnetic. Right? That's what the internal work means. So if you're wanting to do this next level of work, this is what I do with my clients in a one on one capacity. If this is something that you feel like you need to work on, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram and we can chat about it and we can see whether working on this one on one would be beneficial for you. All right? Lovely. I hope to see you at Unstoppable Women tomorrow. If not, I hope to see you there next year. Otherwise, check out my stories because it's all happening tomorrow.
