Let's go. Welcome back to five Minutes of Momentum. Today I want to talk to you about why you still feel guilty making good money even though you've earned it. It's a really interesting element because especially if you hit new money milestones this year, especially if you find that you've maybe increased your prices anytime that you've had people pay you and maybe even money's come out of the blue from other areas, maybe you haven't actually earned it and yet you feel guilty about it. This is really interesting because guilt is not a thing that we should be feeling around money. Guilt is an emotion that we experience as a human to have remorse, to ensure that we don't do something we shouldn't do. Right. So we feel bad because we have done something wrong. But earning good money and receiving money does not mean that you've done something wrong. And so we've got to, we need to be consciously aware of why we're feeling the guilt around it. Like, what is the association that we have with money that's causing us to feel bad about it? This is a lot of conditioning, a lot of conditioning and hidden beliefs from our childhood, from culture, from our family systems, from early career environments, like where we first got a job, when we first got paid. And if we haven't updated our belief system around money, it can cause us to feel a certain way. And so if you've hit certain, hit certain milestones, or maybe you've actually hit more money that your family has ever earned. Right? I was talking to a client recently and she's hit some really incredible milestones and no one else in her family has ever made that much money in a month before. And, and so then around that she was feeling a little bit guilty. And I'm like, well, why? Why are you feeling guilty? What is the narrative that your brain is playing that's causing you to feel that way? So we need to unpack the belief systems and the associations that we have with money in order for us to change our narrative, in order for us to change those belief systems so you no longer feel guilty. Because really, if we look at it, it's just a conflict. It's an inner conflict going on. We've received something and we don't feel okay that it's part of our identity, that it's okay for us to receive that. And so if you want to be a wealthy person, if you want to be good with money, if you want to continue to earn really good money and not feel guilty, we need to update that identity so that your nervous system feels like it's okay and safe and familiar for you to receive that amount of money. And so the way money grows, your identity starts to expand. And so it's important that you attribute these new experiences to your current identity. Otherwise you will keep replaying the old story from the past and keep feeling bad about earning good money. And a lot of the time you have to remind yourself, like, you have to be like, it's okay for me to receive this money. I exchanged value for this money. I supported my clients to get a certain result, I delivered something, I spent a lot of time, like, be conscious of what you're telling yourself, because you're not just getting it for free. It's not like you're doing nothing for it, right? And then even completely side note to that, you actually don't have to do anything to receive money, as that's a whole other concept, is a little bit more woo. Maybe I won't get into it today, but when we are receiving, you are vibrating at a certain level, which receives a certain level of abundance into your environment. So you attracted it, right? So we need to make sure that when we're okay, when that happens, we are okay with it. We need to shift from feeling guilty to gratitude. Right? Rather than feeling shameful about it or guilty about it, or feeling bad about it, we've got to shift it to cool. How can I, how can I be better with money? How can I receive this with grace? How can I receive it with gratitude? How can I feel better about it every time I receive money? Because then you're able to actually hold onto it. Because if you continue to feel bad about it, if you continue to judge yourself, if you continue to believe that you weren't worthy of receiving that, then you will absolutely sabotage it. You'll get rid of it really, really fast. So if this is something that's showing up for you recently, I want you to do the work around this and not take this into 2026. Unpack those belief systems and ask yourself, are they my belief systems? Do I want to continue to believe this? What else could I believe? Instead of belief systems are just thoughts you've thought many, many times. So if you want to rewire them, if you want to change those thought patterns, we need to rewire that part of the brain by repeating new belief systems that you do want to adopt. So write them down. It's a really powerful practice of actually writing down the new belief systems. You want to start to believe, and at first they won't feel true, at first they won't feel right and it'll feel uncomfortable. But the more you do it, the more you repeat it, the easier it will become and the more likely is you will adopt it. And then you need to find situations and evidence in the, in the present to prove to yourself that this is true for you. Right? You will attract certain experiences and you'll have money come your way. And it's in those moments that you feel gratitude and that you adopt the belief system of like, yes, this is normal for me. And you bring this into your identity of, like, this is just who I am. I receive this large amounts of money on a regular basis. I hope you like this episode and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
