Stephanie.
Hi, everyone.
What was happening in your job search before you joined the program?
I wasn't interviewing as well as I could have, and, like, I was definitely getting interviews. And what really prompted me to then, like, reach out to you all is that I would make it to, like, the second or last round or final round and not get it. And I was like, I literally have to do something different because I can't keep being the almost pick.
So when you joined the program, what changed? How were you able to move past that doubt and move beyond it and start landing your offers?
I think knowing that I finally had a prescriptive method and I now, like, have all the tools at my disposal, like, be able to see, like, this is what I need to check off. And I specifically went to, okay, like, how do I interview better? How do I answer those questions? And, like, being able to have that on demand content. At the end of the day, I was like, I know I need more help because I'm not seeing what I'm doing wrong. I had turned 31, and I was telling my family, like, I literally have to get a career coach because it's not working.
First of all, how many offers did you get?
I ended up getting three offers.
Could you explain kind of, like, what that experience was like of first of all getting those offers? Like, how did that feel? And then getting that coaching of, like, walking through, okay, how do we maneuver these three offers? How do we juggle them? How do we align all these timelines?
Because it is such a high demand market right now, it really is just, like, the small stuff. And, like, I'm not, like, a terrible candidate. Like, it's just like, small things that make a big difference. And again, seeing those small things. But I feel like they say, you know, like, when you get one offer, it leads to more. Um, and so when it came for negotiating, you know, just being able to talk to you and talk to Mason, another person on Madeline's team, like, talking to people that have worked with hundreds of candidates and can coach you through this is exactly what I needed. This investment does pay off. I got a $7,000 increase on the offer that I wanted, and they gave me a bit more equity as well. And it was such a cool feeling to actually be in the driver's seat and not just be along for the ride.
So you'd been job searching for nine months, and then how long until you started landing offers? When you were in the actually in.
The program, it was like six weeks.
What would you say to someone who's pretty freaked out to invest in this type of coaching. What would. What would be your advice to them?
I think it's more like the cost of not doing anything or not. Because if it's not. Like, I just kept saying to my family, I was like, whatever I'm doing is not working. And I've always been a big believer in, really my whole life is like, you have. You have to, like, change and adapt. And if something's not working, then you have to adapt accordingly. And then, you know, like we both said, like, that you do that, you can make up the money. And I told myself too. I was like, even if I got part of it back, that would be good. And then I was really stoked for healthcare again that I can finally book, like, going to the doctors. So, like, there's so many other benefits aside from just like that dollar amount. And so if you're freaked out to book that, like, you just need to think about what at this point, like, you were losing, like, I was paying $400 a month for terrible health care. Now I get it through work. Take a deep breath. There's not that anxiety anymore. So I think there's so many other benefits aside from just that hard cost.
