Have you ever felt like you are one of the best speakers in the world, but your bank account doesn't show it? Hi, I'm Myron Golden. I used to struggle to get on stages, but now I make hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars per hour speaking on stage.
I'm going to share with you the three biggest mistakes that public speakers make that keep them broke and struggling. Mistake number one is they have the wrong business model. There are two basic business models in public speaking. One is getting a speaker fee for 5 or 10 or $15,000. The other is making an offer from the stage and having the people who are listening to you vote for whether or not they liked your content with their pocketbook. The second one is what produces the highest paid speakers in the world. And before you say, yeah, but I don't want to sell anything, the. The fact is you already are selling something, but you're attempting to sell one person on paying you $5,000 instead of talking to an audience full of people who could each pay you 500. So that's the first problem. Wrong business model. Second problem is that if you are making offers as a public speaker, you're talking to people about the features of your product. I always tell my students, look, when you're selling something, don't sell your person. I've been in the speaking business for blah, blah, blah years on leadership, blah, blah, bl. Nobody cares. Okay? Number two, they say, don't sell the pieces of your product. Well, it's got three of these and four of those and five of these and six of nobody cares. The only thing you should be selling when you're selling from the stage, Hear me and hear me well. Sell the payoff. Don't sell the pieces. Don't sell your process, sell the payoff. When you learn how to do that correctly and speak to people's emotions, you will make more money and in an hour than you used to make in a year. I know this because I've trained people on this and I've got students that go out and make six figures and multiple six figures the first time they do a live event after taking my training. And I'm talking about people who, before they took the training, they laid an egg and nobody bought anything. The third one, the third mistake that speakers make is when they're making an offer, they're trying to sell the product. You've got one of my favorite movies when I was a kid was Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee. And he had talked about the art of fighting without fighting. Well, I teach people from the stage the art of selling without selling. And so the objective is to make a presentation, make an offer, have people love your content so much they don't want it to end so they buy your product from you. That's how you solve the third biggest mistake. Don't try to sell your product, solve their problem and let them buy your product. That's how you take your public speaking business to the next level and stop struggling to get paid and start making more money in an hour than you used to make in a year.
