Simon Sinek separates optimism from blind positivity. Real optimism means believing the future will be better while acknowledging present hardships. When a team faces difficulty together, cares for each other, and works as one, they survive the crisis and come out stronger.

Optimism is not blind positivity. Optimism is the undying belief that the future is bright, but it is not naive and it can accept darkness in the now. Both in my personal life and my professional life, I can walk into the team and say, okay, this is the hardest thing we're ever going to have to deal with. It's easily the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with. I do not know how to get through it. It's going to be hard. It's a rough time right now, but I know one thing and one thing for sure: if we stick together and we work together and we take care of each other, we will come through this and we will get through this and be even stronger than we are now. That's optimism.
