Learn how Stay Interviews will make a real difference and they'll make a difference today. It will engage your employees and especially the younger workforce who is looking for very direct and authentic communication. And that's going to ensure that your younger workforce feels valued and more importantly, they feel heard. With the big shift in the workforce, gen Z in 2024 is actually going to surpass the baby boomers as far as the numbers in the workplace. There should be a high sense of urgency to shift some of the things that we do on a day to day basis in order to retain the younger workforce. Currently, Gen z only averages 2.3 years in a role before they make a change. Let Stay Interviews emerge as the secret weapon. They will help organizations enhance the relationships and secure the brightest talent that you have in your organization. Now Stay interviews will stand out as a very proactive approach to solving your employees challenges. And it'll cut through all of the generational noise and negativity about the younger generation. And I have to say I actually agree with the things that the younger generations want and I'm thankful that they're here to make those demands for organizations to make those changes. There are five reasons why Stay Interviews are critical in retaining the younger workforce. Number one, personalized engagement. Stay Interviews offer a platform for personalized dialogue. And honestly. It gets to the heart of not only the purpose of every individual and the things that they want to achieve, but it also allows you to address very directly and authentically by the way, which the younger workforce certainly appreciates, any challenges or issues before they happen. Number two, enhance transparency and trust younger workforce. Expect transparency. The cloak and dagger days of previous workforces and some of the things that went on inside behind closed doors is not something the younger workforce not only appreciates but they expect. And if they have that, they won't stay. Number three, identification of development. You get a chance to learn what do they want in life. Now that doesn't mean they have to understand everything about that, but what's next for them right now? What's important to them? Where are their values? What are their standards? What do they desire? And if we can connect what they want with the things that they do on a day to day basis, it's going to provide you the loyalty that you need in an employee and it's going to provide the employee the things that they need to succeed and to achieve greater heights. Number four, preventative problem solving rather than waiting for the exit interviews or as I would say, the employee autopsy. Get ahead of any challenges or issues that might cause turnover. The stay interview will allow you to get right to the heart of any challenges immediately and give you the data that you need to make the changes. And that's why it's critical that the leader is given the stay interview, not human resources or some other leader that this person doesn't report to. 5. Aligning expectations and Values this is where you connect your organization's values and standards with the expectations of your employee. When those are misaligned, that's when you suffer from attrition. When they're aligned, you get significant amount of loyalty on both sides. Because remember, the younger workforce, they want to connect with a purpose. They want to understand what is their meaning. They don't want to be a number inside of an organization. As a reminder, the secret does not lie in all this generational noise and data that we get, which most of it is negative, but indirectly addressing any issues and concerns that your employee has. Which makes stay interviews the critical tool of choice in today's workplace. As usual, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
