Especially if you're interested in academia. I have an alternate path for you that could also be incredibly rewarding, so check that out. Industry Number one Home Home Health Care and Outpatient Care Centers Home health care services and outpatient care centers are two of the most thriving industries within the healthcare umbrella now. Side note, this whole list comes from Data from the U.S. bureau of Labor Statistics and the analysis was done by Seek Business Capital. I will link their article in the description. Okay, so a really great path for you to go down in these two industries is nursing. Nursing is great for those who have empathy, social strong endurance and work ethic. Excellent problem solvers and you have an interest in science. If you have a lot of these strengths but don't want to go through extensive schooling, you could become a home health aide or caregiver. You don't need a college degree for these jobs, but you will need a bit of training. So if you have great skills in anticipating needs, being patient and taking care of others, this could be a great path for you. Finally, home health care services and outpatient industries need people on the healthcare administration registration side, including titles such as branch manager, customer care manager, sales rep, and recruiter. So explore these if you're into a more collaborative, potentially even competitive office environment with a bit less emotional weight to your job Industry Number two Forestry and Lumber if you're focused on the environment, the outdoors, great pay, lots of opportunities, then I would say for sure check out the forestry and lumber industry. This industry uses a lot of sustainability sustainable practices including replanning, fire mitigation and biodiversity efforts, and investing in a ton of technology focused on minimizing waste and maximizing strength and longevity. Jobs in this industry are vast. Some of those titles include accountants, biochemists, loggers, foresters, geologists, designers, tree planters, engineers and marketers. In addition, the future of construction is looking to mass tech timber as a renewable and sustainable building material. If you have interests in the earth sciences, you have a strength in innovation and one of your values is stability, then I definitely recommend you check out the forestry and lumber industry. I will throw some links in the comments and the descriptions of open rolls right now in the forestry and lumber industry as well as some other materials to learn more about it. The forestry and lumber industry has been a sponsor and partner to Self Made Millennial, a very valued one that so shout out to them. I'm so grateful and make sure to check them out. Industry Number three Computer System Design and Software Publishing. You probably saw this one coming. It's the technology industry, the industry that I come from and I'll tell you it's growing quicker than a baby can. A well paying job is a software developer, which is a great thing for you to do if you have an analytical mindset. You love solving puzzles and you really love learning. A related college degree will help you to get a software developer role, but it's not actually required and odds are is if the company you're going after is founded by a brilliant developer, they likely never even finish college. Instead of getting college degree, you can join a coding bootcamp in lieu of it. If you are an excellent problem solver and communicator, then a technical support specialist or a help desk technician would both be excellent careers for you. If you are extremely persuasive, organized and on task, then a project manager role would be fruitful. Now this industry has all kinds of other roles that you can explore such as Human Resources Accounting, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Support Sales. If you're interested in building a career in human resources, I have a video of the top five most in demand skills for human resources professionals Absolutely. Watch that video. I will link it in the comments and in the description. Industry number four Office Admin Services. We're all freaking out about AI taking our jobs, but another trend is that many companies are outsourcing their operations. So what you can do is you can actually work for one of these organizations and be the one who's owning the operations of many different companies. That means there is big potential for all of you out there who are detail oriented, methodical, social, have a professional communication style to land a killer job in this career path. You could have a future in billing and record keeping, personnel services, financial planning, distribution and logistics on behalf of other companies on a contract or fee basis. And number five, other educational services. If you find yourself attracted to academia, but you also have a bit more of a fast paced personality where you like working on a team and you're achievement oriented, then it might be a good thing to explore going into the corporate world and focusing on education. With people losing their minds and their shirts over the rising cost of tuition and student loan debt, this other educational services industry is starting to look real good to people right about now. Companies in this industry include Coursera, General assembly, which is Learning Tree International, and Life Labs, just to name a few. This industry includes training programs, technical and trade schools, and educational support services. So if you're into education, school yourself on these opportunities. Okay, now your next step is. If I mentioned a career in this video that sounds interesting to you, then I want you to hop on LinkedIn. Okay? Find people with those job titles, send them a message, ask them to do an informational interview and really figure out if that career could be a good fit for you. Try before you buy. Now what the heck do you talk about in that informational interview? Well, I created a full guide that you can follow. I will link it in the comments and in the description and I will also link a video that takes you through every step of the way. It goes really well with the guide where it tells you how to message these people, how to do the informational interview and how to stay in touch with them and afterwards. So make sure to get your free guide in the comments and in the description. Also take that strength assessment. Let me know what your strengths are in the comments. You've got this Wi Fi high five.
