Clegg teaches that Christ removes condemnation, but you still choose how to live: spiritually minded brings life and peace, carnally minded brings death. The Spirit and flesh are in constant tension, and walking in the Spirit means actually paying attention to it.

There is therefore now no condemnation in Christ Jesus. So if he's saying therefore, therefore and wherefore always refer to what came before, he's saying, there is therefore now no condemnation. Where? Wherefore? What? Like, why is there no condemnation? Because I thank God that with the mind I serve the law of Christ, but with the body, I serve the law of sin. So I'm thanking God that as long as I am being spiritually minded is life. I mean, to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. So even though I'm in Christ and Christ paid for my sin, I've got a part to play. I've got a role to play. What is my role? Walk after the Spirit, not after the flesh. I love the fact that it says walk after. There are other places it says walk in. Walking after the Spirit and walking in the Spirit are the same thing. Believe it or not, being filled with the Spirit is the same thing. The Spirit is seeking our attention and warring against the attention that the Spirit is seeking. Is our flesh seeking the same attention?
