I actually think your 20s are a cheat code. If I could tell my 20-year-old self 5 things that would make me richer, it would be these 5 rules. The first one, spend to build. Don't ever spend to impress anybody. The Rolex doesn't make you rich. It makes you broke with something fancy on your wrist. Rule number 2, be the dumbest person in the room. If you're the smartest one at the table, you picked the wrong table. Like, your job right now is just to learn from other people. Rule number 3, move before you're ready. The more you procrastinate, the more you try to be perfect, the less you're actually going to get done and you're going to spend your life thinking about the thing you were supposed to do. Rule number 4, marry the partner who tells you you can do more, not the one who tries to make you feel good. Yeah, you need a cheerleader, but you also need a little bit of a bully who believes in you more than you do. And the last one, number 5, shut up, talk less. Because in this moment, you want to hear what other people think and steal all their brilliant ideas. Because maybe there's that brilliant 35-year-old woman who did a bunch of things wrong and you get to steal 10 years of work from her. So that's going to be you, unlike everybody else in their 20s.
