These three brothers made billions just by copying ideas. And they never went to jail, and you'll see why. So in 99, they saw how successful eBay was in the US and they thought, why don't we just bring that to Germany? So they did. They launched a company called Alondo, and 100 days later, they sold to eBay for $53 million. The deal became their blueprint. The strategy was simple. Find successful companies in the US Copy them fast in Europe, and either sell them, clone back to the original company, or take it public. And they did it over and over. They cloned Airbnb, they called it wimdo, they cloned Groupon. That became City Deal, and they built dozens more like that. I think the crazy part is actually that the big companies were actually thrilled often that they did it. Why? These guys opened a new market for them, and that allowed them to buy the asset so they could keep building. Today, each of these brothers are worth 1.2 billion.
