One of my best friends. He had an opportunity to have dinner with Warren Buffett. He said something fascinating. By the end of the dinner, he realized that even though he was asking Warren Buffett a ton of questions, all Warren did was ask questions back. So at the end, I asked him, what'd you learn from Warren Buffett? And he said, God, I just realized that he learned everything from me. The dumbest people I know never stop talking, and the smartest people I know never stop listening. Every time I think that I'm doing it the wrong way, I use the two to one ratio, which is, can I listen to X as often as I talk? That's what the people who are worth the most deal.
