A short advice clip by Codie Sanchez aimed at people in their mid-20s about finding a long-term partner. Key points: don’t rush into marriage/relationships, cultivate a strong sense of self and interests outside of a partner (these need not be career or monetary), and avoid making another person the main source of your identity or happiness.

If you were 25, what advice would you give yourself around trying to find a partner and aiming to not have that partner be somebody you're going to get divorced to? Especially for women I'd say don't rush into this shit. And I think our generation is realizing that. The second thing that I'd say is you don't have to work, you don't have to be a boss, babe or girl boss or any of that fucking nonsense people talk about. But I personally think it's really useful for you to have a very strong sense of self and that self to not only be wrapped up and being married and having kids. I have just seen that not work a million times. It doesn't have to be monetary. It could be that you're really into gardening, working out. But make sure that your full identity is not given to others because guess what? You cannot allow somebody else to be the source of your happiness.
