Codie Sanchez says monogamy is her one non-negotiable rule for marriage. She rejects side quests and multiple partners, arguing modern culture wrongly normalizes them. She frames her marriage as deep friendship and calls for celebrating strict monogamy over narratives that bring others into it.

This feels unhinged to say, but one of the rules I have in marriage is monogamy. That means no side quests, no flirting, definitely no girlfriends or boyfriends, no laughing around. And I have to say this because it's so common. It's just my rule. You do you. My husband's my best friend. I think I'm his. I'm not trying to tell people how to live their lives, but I see too many people trying to normalize stuff that I think is crazy. So don't let other people in by talking about things that should just be between the two of you and the sanctity of marriage. Don't feel like it's normal to experiment with all of these other people. There's just a lot of people who are unhappy, filling holes inside of their heart, who don't have enough purpose in their life. They want to chase adrenaline. They've got a bunch of stuff, now they feel like it's not enough. And I think, just for me— you do you— but I think that God put us here to find the other half of who we are on this planet, and that that's a beautiful thing, and you should never apologize for that. Other people can do whatever they want, but we need more people saying it's actually super fucking awesome to be married. It's one of the greatest joys of my life. And anybody who tells you that you need to let other people in, or it's fine to with other people or all this stuff. I don't know, it's not for me, so I'm calling BS on the whole thing.
