A short YouTube clip by Codie Sanchez presenting the "1 to 1000 hour rule" to manage overwhelm and increase income. She recounts asking a friend who runs multi-million-dollar businesses for advice; the rule instructs viewers to list everything they do over 24 hours–1 week, sort tasks into four hourly-value categories ($10, $100, $500, $1000) on sticky notes, and outsource low-value ($10/hour) tasks with an expected ~4x ROI from hires.

I was overworked, maybe like a lot of you guys, and I wasn't making as much money as I wanted to. So I went to my friend Daniel who runs a couple multi million dollar businesses and I said, I'm overwhelmed. I got too much going on. But I don't have that much money so it's not like I can hire a team. And he told me about the 1 to 1000 hour rule. He said, you sit down with whatever status or position you're at, you take out four sticky notes on those. You're going to write everything that you do for 24 hours to one week and you're going to put them in four different categories. Over here you got the $10 an hour work, then you've $100 an hour work. Then you've got the $500 an hour work and 1000 dol inside of each thing. That is only $10 an hour work. If you make that much money, you have one job to outsource it. Try to turn those $10 an hour works to ROI or return to you 4x your spend. That means if I hire somebody for $10 an hour, I expect them to make me 40.
