A business owner's stubbornness, not cash flow, is what kills most companies. The speaker calls out entrepreneurs who ask mentors for advice then ignore it, calling them "askholes." Real success comes from actually listening and doing what experienced people tell you to do.

The number one factor to causing most business owners to go out of business is not what you think. You think it might be cash flow, running out of money, whatever it might be. That is a symptom of what this cause is. The cause is stubbornness. I meet a lot of business owners who get— who ask advice and continue to ask for advice all the time, but they don't take action with the advice, or they say the advice is wrong and they don't listen to that mentor or key person that they'd ask the advice from. Your number one thing in business is to be open, to really be open. Understand when you ask advice from people that know more than you, take the advice. That advice will help you grow, get to the next level. Don't make the advice better. Just take it exactly the way they say, go and implement it, and you'll grow your business. I've watched this so many times because, you know, in terms of where it goes and because of what it does to business owners, if you don't go and implement, you just become a stubborn person and then you become what we call an askhole. All you do is ask, ask, ask, ask and you do nothing with it, or maybe partially do something with it. Number 1, make sure you take advice from people that are great mentors, highly experienced. Go and implement and do not be stubborn. Always be open to learning, receiving, and growing your business. So think about it in your business. The last advice you got, did you go and implement it fully from that mentor that was helping you, or did you become stubborn, closed, and say, no, I don't do it that way in my business? Guess what? There's a reason why they're successful. There's a reason why people are millionaires and billionaires. And if you want to get to that next level, Be open, 'cause stubbornness won't get you there. Resilience will, but stubbornness won't.
