How to Launch Your Business at No Cost

Colin Sprake shows how to launch without spending your own money: create an offer, pre-sell to early adopters at a discount, collect the funds, then build the product. He walks through examples including a book, an anthology that raised six figures in preorders, and modular homes sold as prototypes.
Hi, my name is Colin Sprake and I really want to assist you in understanding how you can get other people to pay for a launch of something. Like you might think this is crazy, but I'm going to share something with you which is really meaningful. Most business owners think you have to find money to launch things with. Guess what? I'm going to teach you something really quickly here. Number one, if you're going to be launching a new course, a new program, a new book, whatever it might be in the future, right now, as you say that, as you listen to this video, you, you are in pre launch, I'm going to share something really cool with you to understand what does pre launch really mean. First of all, when I did my first book, the Entrepreneur Success Recipe, this book, I went out, I got a three dimensional graphic graded, it cost me $65. I went to all my events and I pre sold this book. In other words, I created a prelaunch. I was going to sell this book and actually launch this book eight months down the line. Guess what? I hadn't even written the book, I had the graphic created. I decided to get this book launched at our events as a pre launch. And for eight months I pre launched this book, took orders and actually processed the money. So this book sells for $23.95. I sold it during that time for $11.95 and said to people, you are early adopters, you're getting the pre launch price. And I pre launched and sold this book at $11.95, nearly half the price of what typically the book actually sold for when we launched. But guess what? We did tens of thousands of dollars pre launch. Eight months later we launched the book with the money that we made from the pre launch. In fact the $65 graphic that it cost me just to do the COVID you know, just for the to get the COVID designed. That's all it cost me. And for six, seven months that's all I did was was use that graphic, create an order form and take prelaunch orders, process the money and we did tens of thousands of dollars. I want you to think about this for your business because most people don't really think about this. Imagine you're launching a course coming up in the future, maybe launching a new website, a new product, whatever it might be. So maybe it's three months down the line that this new course is launching. Maybe that course is going to be a $995 course or 997, whatever it might be. So why don't you pre launch it today to your entire database. Pre launch it to people that know who you are, people pre launch it to people that trust you and say, you know, instead of it going to be $9.95, they're going to get in early for being early adopters, they get rewarded during your pre launch and they get it for like 297 or 397. You take all the orders, you process it, the building of your website, all that kind of stuff that cost it again, that often cost, you know, a huge amount for you in terms of the back end of a website. You fund that through the money that other people give you during your prelaunch. So a lot of times you give yourself enough pre launch time so that you can actually collect a whole bunch of money. Just imagine you go out and get a hundred people paying you $297. All of a sudden you've made thousands of dollars and you can use that money to pay for the full development of your final launch. I want you to think about that. Just recently I launched this book called Entrepreneur Success Stories. Entrepreneur Success Stories was amazing. We had 21 authors. This is an anthology of authors that came into this book. I sold that for $5,000 a person. We did $100,000 in six hours. All I had was the graphic for the book and I went out to our key clients in our database. Four months later, I launched the book. And guess what? The book cost me around $30,000, 30 to $40,000 to produce. So I'd collected all the money, made nearly $90,000 prior to the book even coming out. I want you to think about this. Think about it for your own business. Most business owners are so stressed about where they get money to do things. I was just busy with a lady recently who does modular homes, really small modular homes, which is like sort of the new environmental friendly way of doing things. This lady came to me and she said to me, colin, I have no money to buy one of these modular homes that are like $10,000. I have no money for it, but I need one so I can show my clientele. I said to her, why don't you do this? What do they cost? She said, around $5,000 to get one in terms of the cost for her to buy one. I said, why don't you go into pre launch and say to the people that early adoption, the model that you have, that they will get their unit for $6,000, guess what? She went out and sold 10 of them, made 60 grand, bought her prototype, went out and could just demonstrate it to people, could bring people on board, get more sales at a full launch price. So think about this for your business. You are so concerned of where I find money, money sitting right in front of you. You're just not looking for it. You, you keep on thinking there's an old way of doing things. Mostly I want you to think about is when you say the word launch, which is going to happen months or weeks away. You're in pre launch right now. Reduce your price, get early adopters, get them on board, collect money, use that money to drive you forward and fund your entire launch. You start to think about business this way, you will start to do things so differently and you'll never use your own money. You'll always be using other money. Now, one disclaimer I have to make. When you decide to go into a pre launch and you set a launch date, you better deliver on that date, number one. And number two, you always deliver with quality and over deliver and under promise so that when people get your final launch, you go to the next level and the same time. Another disclaimer, once you launch, please don't continue your pre launch because that will really irritate the people that were the early doctors in the beginning. So if you want some, you know, people to fund some growth in your business, keep on thinking pre launch every time you want to go into a launch. And you won't have to take a dollar out of your jeans in order to do a full launch of anything that you're looking at. So think outside the box. Be creative, be brilliant. I can tell you one thing, I've launched so many things here at make youe Mark. Our business got to a level now where we're growing abundantly into so many countries around the world. And I use this prelaunch formula and every single time people talk about launch formulas, there's a big formula before called the pre launch formula where you get other people, you take orders at a reduced rate, you get them to fund your growth. That to me is the most brilliant part of who we are as a company. And I love teaching this to our students and I'd love you to learn how to do this more. Come out and see what we do. We have more secrets, more tips to really help you grow a business as a guerrilla business owner to take you to the next level with without having to always use your own money. Thank you so much.
