If your team has to guess what you are thinking, you're already failing as a leader. Let me put a little bit of context around this for you. You know, you hear the story of you need to have a vivid vision for your business. That'll give clarity to your team, and they'll understand where things are going within your company. I like to take the vivid vision and build it into a blueprint. The blueprint is what the building looks like. What are we building here together as a team? All the detail. I don't have all the detail in the blueprint. They bring their experience from those different areas of the company to build that properly. But if I don't have the blueprint, guess what happens to my team? They are honestly sometimes like headless chickens running around trying to understand what does Colin really want in this area? Does he want round windows in the building? Does he want square? Does he want rectangular? What kind of windows? Single glazed, double glazed, whatever. If you don't give your team a blueprint, how does your team know where to go? At the end of the day, does your team have clarity? Are you transparent on where you are taking things within your business? Because That blueprint is one of the most important documents you can build out for your team. And once you build it out, they'll all be on the same road or the same direction, all going to one place together because they know exactly what you want to build, but they can bring their genius with them. So look at that from yourself. Ask yourself today, does my team know where we're going?
