A man shares his father's final lesson: keep moving forward through hard times, do the right thing, and ask for help when you need it. His dad taught him to push to the next level no matter what, and to seek guidance from mentors and counselors when lacking expertise.

My dad taught me one thing before he passed that I've carried through every tough season since then. One of the things that really impacted my heart is how he taught me, no matter what the situation is, you've got to forge forward and you've got to go through. You have to make sure that you honor other people in everything that you do. No matter how tough situations might get, no matter how things might hurt you, impact you, or whatever, you've got to do the right thing and go through with it and force yourself to go to that next level. And that sits with me every time I get into a place where things might not be going so good, I might consider them hard, I might consider them not so great, and I might feel like, man, I'm at the end of my tether. Always going through my mind is my dad. Always, son, do your best you can with the knowledge that you have. And if you don't have the knowledge, go find someone who has that knowledge to help you get through. It could even be your counselor. At the end of the day, it doesn't always have to be some business guru or whatever. It might actually be someone that walks you down that path so that you can get to where you need to get to. So I've carried that with me, and I hope it helps you in some way or form that you always look to those amazing parents that you have in your life, or caregivers, whatever it might have been for you, that left you a message, whether direct or indirect, that message is something that you hold on to, to go make a difference in the world and be the awesome human being you're meant to be.
