Before every keynote, there's a specific fear that shows up for me, and I used to pretend about it, and now I don't care anymore. When I was going onto stage every single time, still to this day, there's fear that comes up inside of me. Will people like me? Will I do a good job? Will I deliver the way I've always delivered? Will the message get through to the people the way I want it to get through? And guess what? It always does. Not from a place of ego or anything from my side and being cocky or anything like that. But now I know what courage is like because I get up on stage, I step on that stage with courage. Fear sits right next to me, and I go go through with the presentation because I know what I have to deliver is of value to the people sitting in the audience. And I'm sure when you see this, you'll realize that you might say, I never want to be on stage, I never want to be in front of people. You're in front of people every single day, whether you're in a small boardroom, whether you're in front of people on stage, or whether you're speaking to people on a boat somewhere, whatever the situation might be. We all need to be on stage. It's one of the most important skills to learn in business. You will have fear. The fear will come up in you. The courage to go through that, step on stage, deliver the really perfect message you want to deliver, is the most important thing, because otherwise you take away from those that are sitting in the audience the gift of your genius and your brilliance to help them get to that next level.
