How to find great employees? Because this is one thing most owners struggle with right now. Most of the time I can see people hiring people that they want to be friends with or actually hiring friends. That's the biggest challenge. You need to hire people on performance. Can they perform the job and can they get it done really, really well to make sure your business gets to where it needs to get to? When it comes to hiring people, the two things you're looking for in terms of what they have. Number one, can they get the job done? Do they have the performance? Are you going to get the outcome that you're looking for? Because here's what happens when you hire friends. Or people you want to become friendly with because you're lonely or whatever the situation might be, it becomes highly emotional when you want to let them go. In fact, you really struggle to let them go because it impacts your culture, and that's a really hard thing. So I want you to think about this. Are you hiring in the next week or two, maybe in the next month or two? Make sure you're hiring on performance, that you're hiring on outcomes that you're looking for, and you're not hiring someone to be your buddy, or maybe even hiring a buddy. It's the worst thing you can do in your business. It'll hold you back and won't get you to that next level and allow you to step away and actually truly have a business that runs without you.
