Colin Sprake says your business isn't special, but your mess is. He's run multiple six to eight-figure companies and argues that systems, not uniqueness, separate chaos from scale. Without them, you can't onboard people or grow.

So what running businesses, like multiple businesses, many 6, 7-figure, 8-figure businesses taught me about systems is that without systems, you don't have a business. I've seen this over the years of doing what I do around being a qualified engineer myself. I'm all about process and system because remember, it's very simple. Business is really easy. Now, business is easy until you add humans. When you add humans, make business complicated. At the end of the day, you've got to put the systems in place, operational systems. Sales systems, lead conversion systems, all these things are systems. And you can say to me, Colin, my business is unique. My business is different. I'm like, no, the only one that's unique is you, the one watching this video. At the end of the day, you can systematize just about anything in a business, all the way from hiring, operations, sales, marketing, everything. Once you have systems, that's when you have scalability. When you have no systems, you don't scale. You don't grow the way you should be doing, you should be growing. And it's very difficult to bring employees on board or team members on board and have them help you grow because they're running aimlessly around in the chaos that you've created. So most importantly, put systems in place that set you up for success. It's like building a house on a great foundation. If you don't have the foundation, your business will fail.
