Reality might be consciousness itself, not matter. The speaker connects idealism to Vedantic and Taoist philosophy, argues quantum physics and depth psychology support this over Newtonian materialism, and is working on a video to explain it clearly.

Imagine if we actually exist inside of a universal mind, a galactic mind, a cosmic consciousness, that everything is actually consciousness or mind. This rock is actually not matter or energy, but just the interaction of this consciousness with a piece of the larger consciousness. This is what's known in philosophy as idealism, and it actually is the same view that they had in ancient India with Yogvedantic philosophy, and Taoism accords with this, and It seems to match up with the discoveries of quantum physics from the last 100 years and depth psychology and all that. So it would actually be more sort of simple explanation for the nature of reality than the Newtonian kind of scientific materialist explanation that we all are given in our education systems and through the media. And I'm just trying to figure out how to talk about it in a way that's accessible and interesting and fun. So here I am in the mountains of Southern California trying to work that out. So look for that soon, hopefully.
