Andrea's Client Testimonial

After four years of layoffs in psychedelic-assisted therapy, Andrea hired coach Courtney Addy. Courtney used specific tools: personal thresholds for grounding, an "icky-guy" framework to surface doubts, and saboteur work to quiet Andrea's inner judge. The gentle accountability helped Andrea overcome self-judgment and pursue her real aspirations.

I have spent the last 4 years working in the psychedelic-assisted therapy. It's an emerging field and it's very tumultuous and a lot of these startups have financial issues and I went through a string of layoffs. I was really struggling. I felt defeated. I care about the space so much. When I first met Courtney, I was so stuck. And really unsure as to how do I move forward? I'm someone with big dreams. I know where I wanna go, how do I get there? And so I was just feeling super, super lost. Courtney really uses a lot of different modalities, which I think really drew me to her. Like everything from very science-based structured modalities to more new age modalities. I love that she had such a diverse way of working as well as just her energy. I think meeting her for the first time, and I immediately felt like she was in my corner and rooting for me and saw my potential. I had never worked with a coach before, but I knew the tools I had in my toolkit weren't going to be enough to move me forward. I needed to bring in an expert to help me unpack some of these things, someone who understands the landscape I'm working in deeply, which, which Courtney does, but also someone who has a very clear approach, right? It's not like we're gonna spend the sessions talking. She has tools and resources, a clear process and method to helping people move through things. I think setting thresholds and using that as a way to ground the work we were doing was really helpful. It's not just goal setting. It's so much more than that. And that kept me on track and moving forward. But also I really love the framework of icky guy and finding your purpose through that. It was also how Courtney and I used the framework to peel back some of the layers of doubt I was having about myself. And she also leveraged the positive intelligence saboteurs. I have a very loud inner judge, which prevents me from pursuing the things I know in my heart that I wanna pursue. You know, where you want to be and where you want to go, you just need to get over the fear and the judgment. That's preventing you from going there. And Courtney had so much belief in me throughout that, not that I needed permission, but she helped me give myself permission to follow what I actually really want. The level of accountability she brought to the work we were doing, which I know it's inherent to coaching, but I think the gentle but firm way that Courtney held me accountable she knew when to lean in and when to sit back as well. I think she really saw a path forward for me and allowed me to come to that journey in my own way, which is real— really nice. If she had gone all in in the beginning, I probably would've gotten a little scared. She timed things really appropriately based on where I was. I think that excelled my growth. Really being strategic about when to bring in tools or when to give me assurance versus when to push me. That was just so helpful.
