I was feeling frustrated. I had been at the same company for most of my career, had gotten to a place where I needed to leave. That's when I started to reach out to her to help understand why is it that I was doing really well. I was being asked to take over some new responsibilities and really move up in the organization, but for whatever reason, it wasn't quite sitting right with me and I couldn't figure out what I really wanted or needed in order to feel like I was in the right place. She's so outgoing and warm and comforting when you talk to her, so it felt very safe, but also her having worked in marketing and had a big career, it really felt like she would be able to relate to what I was going through and understand who I was, where I was trying to go in my career. We did the values exercise very first, and I think some of that really helped me understand why am I in this place seemingly doing all the right things, seemingly having all of the success, but feeling completely out of whack with where I wanted to be. And I could never really put into words. My values are excellence and impact. A lot of things wrapped up in those two values that just weren't coming to fruition. So being able to articulate those both helped me with, ah, I am out of balance in this job. And then I later went on to another job where I quickly realized it was not gonna be a good fit for me. And I was able to not say, oh, I failed again, it's not a good fit, but be able to say, this company doesn't align with the values that I want to carry into my life, and therefore it's not going to work for me. It has nothing to do with me. It has nothing to do with this job. It's— I won't show up in a place like this in the way that I want to. That was the big, the big one for me that really I think I've carried in almost every conversation since then. It's one of the big things that I recommend to people when they're feeling that way is like, go see Courtney and talk to her about values because it can really open your eyes to a lot of things. I think it's really hard to muddle through your stuff alone. You really get caught up in what's around you and your insecurities, right? Any of those things. And so for me, coaching really helped me have that objective point of view on the things that I was thinking and feeling and saying. It doesn't matter to them one way or another. And Courtney was good about just trying to get to the root of really what was going on. And so I think I could not have, have gotten where I got today without, without a coach. And honestly, it was the best investment that I've ever made. Really would do it 10 times over again.
