Caitlin Sarian shows three ways people can misuse your phone number: reverse lookups to find your address and history, impersonation through phone verification, and relentless harassment. Cloaked generates disposable numbers to keep your real one private.
Three creepy things that people can do with your phone number hi, I'm Caitlin. I'm a cyber security and data protection expert and I want to help you understand what people can do with your phone number. Let's go. The first is that they can look up your life history. Literally all they have to do is do a reverse phone lookup and get all your information. Second is that they can pretend that they're you. A lot of companies just verify your account through your name, your birth date and your phone number and they can get all this information through the reverse phone lookup. And the third thing they can do is just never stop harassing you. And these are the reasons why I never give out my real number to people that I meet on dating apps, etc. Cloaked is a consumer privacy startup that helps you generate real working phone numbers, emails and passwords that help you stay safe online. With Cloaked, I'm able to generate real working phone numbers that forward to my phone to generate a new number, open the cloaked app and press new number. Then assign it to a contact and press next. It's that easy. Comment below with the name of your stalker and then send this to a friend who needs to hear this.
