The US Just quietly killed a rule that would have protected your personal data. Hi, I'm Caitlin. I'm a cybersecurity and data protection expert, and I want to help you protect yourself online. Let's go. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or cfpb, was working on a data broker protection rule to stop shady companies from selling your sensitive information without your permission. Last week they pulled the plug. So now data brokers can continue business as usual and profit off of your privacy. They scrape, store and sell everything about you. Your past addresses, your family members, and even your political views. And then sell it to advertisers, insurers, employers, or worse. They basically sell it to the highest bidder. And without this rule, they're basically back to business as usual, selling your data behind your back without any real oversight. And most people don't even know it's happening. Before we continue, be sure to hit that follow button. Now, if you follow me, you know that I teach you how to find your data and delete your data manually. I have a how to delete your data series, so go check it out. But there are hundreds of data brokers out there. So I use a service and I partnered with them called Incogni because they manually opt out of all these data brokers for me. They send these requests on my behalf so I save tons of time and and energy and I don't have to worry about it. They're constantly removing it every month. Just this month. Look at how many hours they saved me. Want more information on the deletion service I use DM me Incogni and I'll send you all the info. Other tips besides deleting your data is to not accept cookies and terms of service blindly. That's how they track you and push for real time data privacy laws like and follow for more cybersecurity tips and be sure to share this with a friend.
