I can see everything your camera sees and so can hackers. Hi, I'm Caitlin. I'm a cybersecurity expert and I want to teach you how easy it is to get on your cameras. Let's go. By the way, this is for educational purposes only. Anything with a camera can be hacked if it's not properly secured. That includes your phones, tablets, computers, PlayStations, even your car cameras, baby monitors. There's a real website called Shodan IO. It's basically like a Google, but for devices connected to the Internet. And you can see any camera connected to an IP address. And fun fact, every camera has an IP address. So if your security settings are weak or on default, all your camera feed could be on full display. For anyone who does research, all the hacker needs is your IP address and voila, they can open the camera on that address. And fun fact, a lot of these data broker sites have your IP address on them. Here's how to protect yourself in general. First is to change the default router login information. You can actually find out how to log in and change that default on the bottom of your router. The second is to use strong WI password, so don't use a default WI password, change it. And the third is to enable this encryption. Also, on my cybersecurity go page, I break down how to protect each device as well as how to protect yourself online and delete your data online. Stay safe out there.
