A brief conversational YouTube explainer where hosts Caitlin Sarian (cybersecurity/data protection expert) and Ashish (cloud security expert) give a high-level definition of cloud security: securing resources and applications hosted on public cloud platforms. They name the three major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and close with social media call-to-action.
Cloud Security Simplified hi, I'm Caitlin, I'm a cybersecurity and data protection expert and I'm pairing up with Ashish, a cloud security expert who will help us understand all about the cloud. Let's go.
Cloud security, simply explained, just means that if you have an application that you build, whether it's facebook.com, google.com, whatever the application that you're building, you need a place where you can host whatever is running behind the scene, which is whether it's your server that is basically making the page load or if it's just networking around so you can connect to the website, which is facebook.com things like that is what can be configured in something called the public cloud. The three most common examples of these cloud service providers are called AWS or Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. Basically doing security of resources that are hosted in these cloud providers is what people call as cloud.
