If you use Facebook messenger, you need to listen to this. Hi, I'm Caitlin. I'm a cybersecurity and data protection expert and I want to help you protect your data online. Let's go. Facebook messenger now offers encrypted messages end to end encryption, but both parties have to turn it on. Meaning if I'm messaging my mom, I have to turn on encryption from my side and she has to turn on encryption from her side. So what is encryption? Encryption is super important because if someone happens to get into your messages, they won't actually be able to read any of them if it's encrypted. Before we continue, be sure to share this with someone who you always do Facebook messenger with. So here's how to turn it on. Go to Facebook messenger, click on the person you want to turn on end to end encryption with. Then from there, click on their profile in the top left, scroll down and click on Go to Secret conversation. It'll then enter you into the end to end encrypted messenger system. Make sure both parties do this and once you both do, then you can send messages safely like and follow for more cybersecurity tips and be sure to share this with friends.
