A short YouTube video (Dec 12, 2022) by Caitlin Sarian advising viewers not to give out their real phone numbers. Sarian demonstrates and recommends Cloaked, a consumer privacy startup/app that generates working phone numbers which forward to the user’s real phone to protect privacy. The clip ends with a call-to-action to visit her website and comment.
Oh, my gosh, Katelyn. This guy asked me for my number. I'm not really interested in him, but I felt like I should just give it to him anyways because I wanted to be nice. Did you give him your real number? Well, what else would I give him? Would I say no? I feel bad. Cloaked is a consumer privacy startup that helps you generate real working phone numbers that you can assign to specific people. And it will still go to your phone. It's just not your real number. Wait, so you're saying I can generate a phone number to give to him and it's still forward to my phone, but it's not my real number? Yeah. I literally use Cloaked for any time I meet someone on dating apps or at bars, and I'm not sure I really want to get my real phone number out. Wait, so I could have given him a number that wasn't really my number but still gets forwarded to my number? Yeah, because you'd be surprised at how much information you could get off of a reverse phone search. I need to get Cloaked. For more information on Cloaked or how to get cloaked, go to my website and check it out. Also, comment below with what you'd use cloaked floor like and follow for more cybersecurity tips.
