UX Insider: Product Hunt's Weekly Roundup - Episode #1 (18 - 24 Nov.)

In this episode of UX Insider, Daniel Andor from Duran reviews the three most‑voted Product Hunt launches of the week – Postiz (an AI‑driven social‑media scheduler), Vozo Video Translator (a transcription, translation, dubbing and AI‑rewrite tool), and SuperChat (an AI‑powered WhatsApp/Instagram business assistant). For each product he walks through the website, sign‑up flow, onboarding steps, and core feature interfaces, offering real‑time commentary on usability. He highlights recurring UX issues such as confusing CTA hierarchy, inconsistent button styling, over‑used “bento‑box” layouts, vague copy, missing free‑tier options, and unclear navigation. He also evaluates the AI‑centric features (content assistant, transcription, rewrite, dubbing, lip‑sync) and notes performance quirks like long processing times and missing UI feedback. The review ends with a brief synthesis of the common patterns across the three tools and practical design recommendations for clearer hierarchy, better visual cues, and more helpful onboarding guidance.

Hey, Daniel here from Duran, and today we will take a look at the top 3 most voted products on Product Hunt last week, and we'll try to analyze them briefly on the product and UX side and see how the products work and, yeah, what they can offer. So we will start with Postiz. As you can see, your ultimate AI social media scheduling tool. And take a look at the website, looks decent, I would say. We have these 2 CTAs here, it's slightly different, but at least we can see the product. This I find a bit confusing, even it has the same weight as the Start a 7-Day Trial, but it's obviously not that important. And since the product is already live, I don't know how much value this brings. Then, yeah, we have a bunch of bento boxes and, oh, the pricing page. Or the pricing section in this case. And as you can see, we don't have a free account option, but we can start— oh yeah, so on the top it says start the 7-day trial, but here we have just get started, and here as well get started, and no mention of the 7-day trial anymore. Okay, let's get things started then, see how it goes. And You can see here is a big space that's not really used. It can be either replaced with, I don't know, features, testimonials, highlights of some sort, or maybe just move this thing here because otherwise we have to look towards that area. Okay, let's create the account. I filled in the information and create the account. Okay, I have to activate the account, so Yep, you can see here basically the email is just this very short message and just a link. It might be worth adding a button and maybe a bit more description and eventually put it on brand, but at least, at least a button here and a bit more description of what's happening. Okay, I'm activating the account and okay, there is like a bit of a social proof again, the 7-day Pay nothing for the first 7 days, cancel anytime. So it gives a bit of a reassurance of how things will work. And if something doesn't work out, you can, you can opt out. We'll go with this plan. Let's go with the standard one. I immediately have to add bank account. So, okay, let's just add a card and start the trial. Okay, so we are on the onboarding part. I have to create my own profile. Okay, put my— oh, my name here. Okay, next, you can create social profiles. Let's go with the Instagram. Okay, this works. And maybe this one, and again this one. And oh, there's a lot of clicks that you have to perform, but that's on the Facebook side, so I'm not sure if anything can be changed. Okay, selected this and saved. This doesn't work from the get-go, but okay. Next, you can schedule a new post, buy posts from influencers, and sell your services. As you can see, everything has the same weight on the bottom side, so there is not— it's not necessarily hierarchy of like, this is the first thing that you should do, or Whatever, it's like you have 3 options, you can pick whatever you want. It would be maybe helpful to highlight the one that most people would use at this point. Might be scheduling, I assume. And this is how you schedule something. You can also design, which opens an editor on top of the editor, which looks a bit weird since— oh, how I can close this? Here, probably. Yes. So basically you have this view and then when you click on this, this thing opens on top. It gives a bit of a context, but we have this. What's this thing? AI Content Assistant. Okay, let's see what this thing can do. Okay, let's just skip it for now. And you can add comments and you can add it to your calendar. You can preview, edit, stuff like this. Cancel for now. Analytics. I don't know from where they have this stuff. What? Yeah, they have it. Marketplace and message. These are quite generic, I would say, on the illustration side. I know that I, I saw them in a lot of places, and from what I see, it's kind of— that's it. So yeah, kind of that's it. You can set a whole bunch of stuff, but— and this Cool. Okay, let's try adding, adding some content here. Insert the media. You can upload. As you can see, the buttons are weird a bit, so there is not a very good hierarchy between the buttons as well. This and this is the same color, though this is cancel. Save as draft is like, I assume it's secondary, and this is very small. Nothing happens for some reason when I click on design media. So I can design stuff here. But when I try to upload— oh, now it works. For some reason it didn't work. Okay, let's just upload something random, like a Dribbble image or something from another project. Okay, it's updated and I add there testing post-it. So this is the preview and I can add it to calendar, but where do I have the option to click? Oh yeah, I can click on it. Okay, so this is a bit weird. I'm not a big fan of these kind of buttons that basically hover on top, it opens something below, and that's red. What if I click on this? Yes, let's just try it out. It's a bit confusing, I would say. I'm not sure what happened. Now let's go back, close this, and let's try it again. So we have preview. This, I assume, this is the preview. Or I'm not sure, doesn't do anything else. I can enlarge this, I can add a comment if I want, but when I say add a comment, I can upload something new. Is it the same thing here? Write your reply. Oh, this goes— this looks more like Twitter than Instagram for me, but yeah, kind of weird. Maybe I'm not the target audience. Something like that. Okay, so this, yeah, and this also looks a bit, I don't know, weird. Maybe weird is not the best word, but if you see it, like when you upload it, it kind of fades into the background. It's a bit of a green. Maybe it could stand out a bit more, but yeah, the message is there. Okay, let's just delete this one. The next one, the next one being Vozo Video Translator. Okay, they already showcased that they need support on Product Hunt, which is not that helpful for us. Now there is a lot of overlaying stuff, as you can see. Okay, we have sign up for free, powered by OpenAI, preview of the product.
As a storyteller to the world, what's your biggest challenge? Turtles could simply provide your background and set your style.
A bit quite generic and a lot of examples. Okay, but yeah, the backgrounds are, I don't know, they are quite generic, I would say. Also the layout, if you can go back to this one, the layout is very, very similar to this one except the bottom part. But yeah, there are quite a lot of similarities. Okay, let's try out a product. Then sign up with Google. That's the only option we have. Okay, let's sign up with another account. And this is the onboarding. So how did you hear about us? Product Hunt in our case. And again, we have this cookie consent thing. Accept. And you can select just one, but then you have also to click next. Just put other for now. Features are you most interested in? Please enter your work email. I just provided an email. Okay, it's just weird. So yeah, the onboarding, it's— I would say it's a bit weird. And then we have this pop-up, 7-day, 30 gift points. Okay, start exploring. And another thing here on top, it's a lot of things happening. So we have translate, rewrite. Okay, let's see what this thing can do. Open this. I should have some videos somewhere. Yeah, we have some some here. Okay, so language, number of speakers, it's 1. Language is still uploading. It will probably take a while. It requires 26 points, so basically from those 30, I'll be left with 4. Kind of that's it. Let's continue. They are transcribing. Oh, it takes a lot of time. I'm not sure about this one. Oh, you can, you can get the notification. Okay, we'll just leave it off. For now. And we are back. We have 2 options now, rewrite manually or use AI. Let's go with the AI one, see how it goes. Click to rewrite with AI. Okay, let's say make it more— oh, we have a bunch of options. So you can rewrite, you can refine, you can make it longer, I assume shorter, find and replace, search and remove, rewrite Let's put it motivational speech, see how that works. So as you can see, the whole thing, it's broken down. There is a transcription there, and now it's rewriting the things that I said. Okay, let's apply this one. And you can see here is the background audio, and here is the— Redesigning digital products is one of the main things that we do here at Duran. Okay. Update dubbing. Let's see. So that was the original one, and now I assume it should update everything. Okay, it should be updated now. Oh, sorry.
Hello everyone, at Duran we believe in the power of transformation through redesigning digital products. When faced with challenges like customers leaving or finding our products difficult, we see opportunities for growth, but mission to guide them to success.
Resonates somewhat with my own voice.
When customers seek features.
Let's see if we can on the lip sync. Okay, start lip syncing. See if this works better. Oh, okay. I would have to upgrade. So basically it can already present.
It's a T and accessibility.
Weird. Yeah.
By revisiting it as it is.
And if you go back, you have this thing on the top so you can easily start a new project. And there should be Oh, there was a bug or something. So there should have been my projects, I assume, but for some reason it didn't show up. Okay, and to the next one, and the latest one, it's SuperChat. SuperChat, which is an AI agent for WhatsApp Business and Instagram and stuff. Let's see, we have the cookie consent, similar layout as you can see. We have login, book a consultation, Try Super Chat for free and book an appointment. It's a bit weird. So we have login and book a consultation. Here you have the option to try it out or book an appointment, but here you don't have that option. There is also an AI chatbot live now that you can test, a bit of a preview of the product. And then, yeah, I know, the standard bento box again. Yep, kind of a standard bento box. This is like very overused, I would say. I just saw this robot everywhere nowadays. Yeah, Mentabox, Mentabox. Okay, let's see if this works. Yeah, we have to register. Okay, password created. Let's register. And now we have to complete this whole thing, right? Daniel. Okay, let's just put customer service. Industry, B2B. Service, and we can maybe put other for now here. Usually when you select other, it's another input field that opens, but we don't have it here. And also the layout looks, looks quite clear. So we have this whole part that needs to be filled in on the left side and a nice image on the right side. I don't feel that it adds a lot of value, but yeah, at least there are a couple of logos from companies that already are using the product. So yeah, overall it's nice. Now have to confirm the email. Super Chat. As you can see here, we have the option nicely displayed with the button and also the link confirming this. And yeah, you can scan to start using the product or trying it out. Just curious if I can go past this one. You can scan it with my phone at least. Open WhatsApp. Okay, and here it is. This is how the product looks. We have these bullets here to guide us through. Also, first steps here. Something is loading, but I don't know what. Let's start with newest display options. So it's basically what order things are displayed, what to show here. This is for filtering, and here is the option to filter down stuff, which is okay. Let's do first steps. So there is a video, and then we have a checklist. So add a communication channel, invite your team, and create your Super Chat account, which is already stroked out. We already created the account, and we can also connect WhatsApp. So I don't have a business account, I will leave it as it is for now. But overall, the layout, it's nice, it's clear. It might be a good idea to have maybe a bit more guidance, but there is this video, so it might work for most of the clients. But yeah, I'm usually not the one looking at the videos, kind of skip them. But yeah, overall it looks nice. Even the background, I would say it looks similar. It's quite the same as, as the WhatsApp one. And I'm, I'm not sure what this thing is that it just fills in every time. And you have the team chat campaigns and so on, everything that you need. Analytics even, it's here. Nice, nice looking product. Cool. So kind of that's it. Hope you find something interesting around here, and at least you saw a couple of new products and how they do onboarding. So hopefully that was useful. Thanks.
