Hello, hello. This is just Danielle today. Rebecca is getting new kitchen cabinets put in, and I'm sure her house is mass chaos, so she is not going to be with us today. We're talking about why marketing can help you earn more with less overwhelm. Yes, I just said marketing can be less overwhelming. If you'll notice, Rebecca and I have been putting out posts this week all about this, and this week is all about that. So on Thursday is all Q&A. We will help answer your deepest marketing issues if you just show up to the live Q&A. So we're talking about marketing, and it could be less overwhelming if you allow it to be. So the first thing to know is about your branding. Your branding is a big part of your marketing strategy. What is your branding? Is it consistent? Or are you following the ADHD shiny object syndrome and changing your logo, changing your colors, changing what things look like, changing your name of your business often? I see this so often with female-owned businesses. This is not a male-owned business thing. I have, even with my ADHD male business owners, I've not seen this. But we want what's pretty, what's on trend. What are we seeing? Oh, we saw another logo we loved. Oh, we should change your logo. We should change your name. One of the best brand strategies when you are starting is, especially if you are a service-based business. If you are a product-based business, let's— we'll have a very different conversation. I'm just going to speak to service-based right now. Be your name, be who you are. You are your brand. Your brand is you. If you are the one offering your service, you should be the brand. There are a few exceptions. Uh, Jessica here is a Pet sitter, pet walker, pet something, and I can't remember the name of her business, but it has a name that makes sense. But if you were a coach, if you are a VA, if you were an OBM, if you're a web designer, it should be your name. Danielle Ralston OBM, Danielle Ralston Organized, Danielle Ralston VA Services, Danielle Ralston ADHD Coach. I have recently moved. You will notice. That it's not my name anymore. It is the original ADHD coach, but still my name is tied to every single one of those things. And the reason why I could do that is I've been around a long time. People know who I am. They know I've been around a long time. They know my name. They associate my name with my the original ADHD coach. There is a marketing strategy when you go to changing names, and it's a long-term move when you want to change names if you want to do it well. If you don't want to do it well and you just want to have fun and you don't care about the consequences, that's perfectly fine. That is absolutely fine. But know that there are consequences for doing it that way. Nothing wrong with that. Make sure that you understand that brand strategy and brand recognition— colors are part of that, a logo is part of that, pictures, selfies. It's why we say selfies. If you are a service-based business owner, Use selfies constantly because people associate you with the thing you're delivering. You with the thing you are delivering. So use that brand strategy to your advantage. Don't be changing it. It's very simple, easy. It doesn't have to be hard. If you don't have the money to buy a logo and aren't sure what to do, I know a couple logo businesses that you can hire. I would be happy to share links. I think Alyssa can share a link below when she gets a chance to logo this. Rebecca owns a company that makes logos. They're very low cost. They're very easy. They're more formatted, but they are perfect when you're starting out. If you can't even afford to do that and aren't in the place to do that, use your name and a picture of you. Period. End of story. That can be the logo for your business for the first year. You do not have to spend money on a graphic designer to make you anything. Oh, which means you could earn more because you're spending less. That is a big thing, and it really is a big thing. So the next thing is understanding how to find your ideal audience. Who's your ideal client? Go ask them questions. Literally offer them a free coaching call, a free VA service, uh, like 5 hours of free VA services or 2 hours of free VA services, a free strategy call, something in exchange for getting to ask them all kinds of questions. Do you need marketing strategy questions? Just ask me. I could drop a whole entire list of marketing strategy questions for you to answer below. Ask your ideal client. Don't assume that they like Instagram. Don't assume that they like Facebook. Don't assume that they're on LinkedIn or Twitter or TikTok or whatever. Make sure, verify. That's one of the bigger things that I see a lot of business owners do is they go with what they like, but they have an ideal client in mind, but they aren't necessarily making sure that they're speaking to their ideal client in the right place. That's a really big, powerful thing because you've got to know where they are in order to where they hang out. I know my ideal clients are all over Facebook. They are not on Instagram. However, I have a consulting business— or excuse me, not on LinkedIn. My ideal clients hang out on Facebook. They're not on LinkedIn. However, in my consulting business, none of them are on Facebook. I don't think most of them even have Facebook accounts. They're only on LinkedIn or Twitter. So that's where I hang out for those. And yes, I have accounts over there. And yes, I'm very active over there. Because for consulting, that's where I need to be. That's where it's more important. Know where your ideal client is. It's really, really important. And asking simple questions, going to a Facebook group or a LinkedIn page or, and ask the questions. Even ask them in your social media. See if you can get some engagement and answers to figure out where they would prefer to hang out with you or to watch your content or to read your content. Maybe they only like blogs. Maybe they only like podcasts. Maybe they only like YouTube. Know that before you really, really get going. With your business. Know where hanging out is the best place. Just know where your audience is. It's really a huge piece of it. Know what your business goals are. Your business goals are going to direct— I think is the right word— your marketing efforts. Your overall business goals are going to direct your marketing efforts. So if your business goal is to make $500 a week and that only takes one client then how often do you need to show up and what do you need to do for that? Know what that is. If you have a 6-figure goal for your business and you want to be making 6 figures by— today is June— 6 months from now, then you better be mega consistent, have a really good strategy, have it all laid out. And we're ADHD, so you have to really consider making sure that on your good, better, best days, you're always showing up for your marketing because it's so much a necessity for you to reach your business goal. So what are your business goals? Laura knows that she needs to show up a couple times a week and go live. I know that I need to show up a couple times a week and go live here, and I need to post in multiple Facebook groups, and I need to be giving value, and I need to show them my DMs. My DMs are my most powerful place for me to close sales and get leads, which means I have to be visible other places in order to get people in my DMs. So how do I get people in my DMs? I need to show up, and that means I need to go live, and I need to write content, and I know what those things are. And make sure that your business goals match your mental ability in your business. Is that overwhelming to you? Okay, get help. If you can't get help, then figure out how to make things easy. We've given you 9,000 tips last week. We gave you 9,000 tips on how to make things easy for yourself. We'll, we'll do that again on Thursday. Come ask the questions so you can make things easy so you can earn more with less overwhelm because it is possible. But there are some hard and fast rules that are sort of in concrete when it comes to algorithms on social media of how you need to show up in order to be truly effective at marketing. I teach about 900 different— well, no, I really not 900 different ways. I teach one way that you can make 6 figures in your business in 15 minutes or a day or less. That is something that we talk about all of the time around here. It is possible to earn more money in 15 minutes a day, period, end of story. But I show up 15 minutes every single day of the week. Do I show up on the weekends? No, I don't show up on the weekends. But you can do it in 15 minutes a day if you actually do it consistently. 15 minutes a day once a week is not gonna help, I'm not gonna lie. Is it better than nothing? Well, hell yeah, but it's not very consistent if you're showing up for 15 minutes on Monday and then not showing up for 3 weeks and then showing up 15 minutes on a Friday some other time. That's not going to get you to reach whatever your business goals are. And maybe you really aren't building a business. Maybe you just want a side hobby where you make some money here and there and you don't really have consistent clients. That is perfectly fine. So what do I get done in 15 minutes? In 15 minutes, I go through my top 5 Facebook groups in that 15 minutes every single day. And I Get visible. I just get visible. Is that answering questions? Maybe. Is that, uh, posting a link to something if somebody asks for help for someone? Yes. Is that tagging a VA I know when somebody's looking for a VA? Yes. Is that tagging an OBM or a web designer or somebody else? Yes. It's not always about what I do or what I offer. It's just about showing up and being visible. If somebody posts something that's really heartfelt and that doesn't necessarily need a a value-based response of me supporting them, or no, let me rephrase that, of me helping them and giving them advice or tips or tricks. I still, hell, I'm gonna still show up and support them and celebrate them for sharing whatever it was they shared. As in my name shows up on a post, I get visible. That is the number one strategy for any building any business is get visible where your ideal clients hang out. And yes, you could do that in 15 minutes or less. I do 4 15-minute sessions a day right now. Why do I do 4 15-minute sessions a day? Because I want BSEA to have a minimum of 10 new clients a month. So we're working on that. In order to do that, I need to show up more because I know that means I need to be more visible. Is it always me pitching and doing sales? No, I rarely pitch or do sales. I'm just showing up. It does not have to be hard. You can do it with less overwhelm. I promise it takes time though. That is not a fast strategy, but it is the most effective strategy. And I have done this in about 900 different ways over the last 25+ years. I've done it on forums, I've done it networking groups, I've done it many other places, not just on Facebook. Facebook is really powerful for BSEA. That's where I show up. But I know LinkedIn is not powerful. I know Instagram is becoming more powerful for us, but I know that's not necessarily the ideal. I know that Facebook is our ideal, and there are a lot of Facebook groups that I show up in. Know where your audience is. Know what your audience wants to hear. Know that you just need to be visible. Again, your first visibility things for like the first 30 days of getting visible and trying to get your name out there and people to recognize you Can it be you saying, oh, I love that quote. Oh, happy birthday. Oh, I know that Danielle does that, or I know that Lauren does that, or I know that Kelly does that. You should reach out to them. Has nothing to do with what I sell or what I do. And I know that Lauren has found a lot of power in this. I know that Catherine and Denise and Sonia, all of our BSEA members find a lot of power in this 15-minute strategy. Again, know what your goal is for your business though, because The bigger your goal, the more you have to show up and the more you have to do. Effort is commensurate with return. So what effort do you have? Do you have the ability to put out in order to reach your goals? Make— that is a huge part of marketing and why it's so important for you to really understand what those goals are so you could build a marketing strategy around it. Does it have to still be difficult? No, it's freaking easy. Marketing is one of the more, and should be one of the most simple things that you're doing for your business. Is it time consuming? Is it one of the most time consuming things you do for your business? Absolutely. But I didn't say it was hard. It's absolutely simple, but it is one of the most time consuming. It really is something that you're going to spend a lot of time on. I'm going to leave you guys with that today. I have this really long list and I'm looking at it going, that's a little bit too much. So Rebecca and I will be dropping written posts in about this all week.
