Best Productivity Tools for ADHD

A person with ADHD shares her minimal tech stack (Slack, Monday.com, Google Suite, Calendly) plus a handwritten planner color-coded in half-hour blocks with Post-it notes. She credits daily check-ins with friends like Gina, Avery, and Emma as the real productivity tool, saying without her accountability network she'd fall apart.

Good morning, everybody. I hope everybody is amazing today. I hope you're having a great day today. So we're talking about productivity tools for everyone with ADHD. So I get asked all the time, how do you stay productive? So I have a very slim productivity tool stack, and I call this my tech stack. I keep them very, very slim. And you might think that that's insane, especially with everything that I do, but I really keep it very, very slim. So my tech stack is I have Slack. Slack is how I do instant communication with everyone and brainstorm, talk out tasks, things like that. Then I have Monday, which is for my personal, my agency, and for me personally, I keep everything in Monday. And then I have Google Suite, Google Drive, Google Calendar. Then I have Calendly or Acuity depending on the business, and I have to switch between the two because of different things that I need. But that is my tech stack. And then obviously I use AI tools here and there as I need them, like ChatGPT or Goblin Tools. But I really try to keep the tools that I use very, very slim. And I will tell you right now, this is my best productivity tool. This is my calendar. It's got— oops, other. Stop. There we go. It's got times in half-hour increments. I can't do this backwards. And then I color code everything as I'm doing them all day long. I can keep notes. I have my top priorities, gratitude, how I'm feeling to the day, my meals for the day. Everything is here. Handwriting is the best tool that I have. Why is handwriting my best tool? Handwriting is my best tool because I'm very, very visual, and I know that I'm very visual. And in order to see things laid out the way I need to, I need to see it. See everything written down, and I have to write it down myself. Sandwiches, those are absolutely— I put my sandwiches in here. I had notes from a meeting today that I put in here, and you will see that I always have Post-it notes. So right now I only have one colored one, but sometimes I can have like 8 or 9 different colors of Post-it notes that I put in here, or they can end up up here depending on what the tasks are. And I really try to lay everything out in a way that is very, very visual. That's why I use all the Post-it notes for everything. Because I need that visualization in order to keep track of everything. So what are my best tools for productivity? Oh, my last tool for productivity is I have accountability. That is a productivity tool. I will tell you, and anybody asks me how I've made money and how I am successful and how I could do all of the things, is I have accountability. I have daily check-ins with my own accountability person. I have people on my team who help keep me accountable. And I've got Gina and I have Avery and I have Emma, obviously. Dena and Emma and Avery, they all keep me accountable and on track. Without them, I would not stay on track. That's why I'm on track. It's not because I'm amazing or I'm better than everybody else at these things. I have people that keep me on track. Without these people, I would lose my shit. Not kidding. And I'd lose my crap all over my house all the time. My husband laughs because I could have like 9 cups of coffee in the house as I walk around. Yesterday, because I was cleaning, Doing little bits of things here or there. I had 9 cups of coffee in my house all the time because accountability is what keeps me on track. Accountability is why I'm so successful at all my businesses. So my marketing business that I just started, come along for the ride this month as you see me really launch and get moving with all of that. I've got a lot of things going on. How do you stay productive? And Jessica, I can't handwrite stuff. I mix up letters too much and spend more time erasing or scratching stuff out. That's awesome. You know how your brain works and what you need. I will tell you 90% of what's written on here is probably spelled wrong. I can ignore that now because I've just given up. I just gave up. Now I have other forms of accountability. Lauren is helping me stay on track for a couple things. Denise helps me stay on track for things. Even Jessica and, and like everybody takes care of each other. And that amount of community and amazingness is huge for me. And it's huge for me to watch all of you take care of each other. Like Laura asking Jessica if she's staying on track with a couple things that she had. asked for accountability on. These are the things that are why an ADHD brain can thrive and can be accountable and can get all of the things done and, and, and, and, and. It is so important to do all of those things and to be able to stay on track. How can you this week stay on track and get accountability? And Avery, while I'm thinking about it, I would really love you on that call if you could be on that call with us this week, because I think that you could really help us here in the community. You were on that call. So send me a message on Slack. And yes, I'm telling one of my assistants to send me a message on Slack here during my live. And this is how I operate. I don't forget to utilize the support that I have. I have amazing support. I have amazing things going on, and people can work with me and help me stay on track and help each other stay on track with all of this. So how are you staying accountable? What are some of your favorite productivity hacks? I want to hear everybody's productivity hacks. Uh, Jessica has some amazing ways that she does things. Avery does one thing some way. Jess has another way. Laura has her own way. I want to hear what your productivity hacks are this week because let's talk about it and let's talk about what were some of the issues with your productivity is as well. So Thursday when I come in here live, we'll talk about how to solve some of the ADHD issues that we have with productivity and talk about some of the things that can go wrong with productivity with ADHD. So tell me all about the things that you use right now to keep you on track. I can't wait to hear from you. Have an amazing day, and I really look forward to hearing from all of you of how you're staying accountable, how you stay productive, and what you're doing to overcome ADHD with productivity.
