In this monologue, Danielle Ralston, CEO and founder of ND Hive, ND Out Loud, and ND Visionary Partners, explains why she created ND Hive and how her neurodivergent identity (Autie HD) shaped its purpose. She needed a system that let her thrive as an entrepreneur, mother, wife, and corporate employee, balancing a love‑hate relationship with structure. To achieve this, she introduced three core practices: (1) body‑doubling—working alongside her team in real‑time to maintain focus and momentum; (2) accountability mechanisms that keep her and her team on track without constant micromanagement; and (3) a community that intuitively understands how neurodivergent brains operate, eliminating the need for constant explanation. She recounts early resistance from her team, the eventual reliance on these practices, and how they became essential for personal and professional success, positioning ND Hive as a supportive ecosystem for neurodivergent individuals.
