Danny Walsh promoted a $1,000-commission affiliate product and tracked one sale on launch day. The vendor added a PayPal checkout button that bypassed tracking, so 40% of buyers weren't recorded. Walsh collected the receipts himself and forced a manual payout of $4,000.
and they were promoting, and their affiliate system would only track sales that went through their credit card system. And they built up to a really big launch, and they were like, all affiliates promote, and everybody's gonna go crazy. And I had really good bonuses, right? And I sent out the emails, and I was slamming this thing, and I was posting all over the place, and was going crazy, and everybody built up to the launch, and I got one sale. And these were like, every time I got a sale, you made $1,000, right? So this was a big thing. $1,000, $1,000, $1,000, $1,000. And I'm like, holy crap, you know, we've made like $10,000 in a day. This is insanity. And this is like, if you get it going, it really does pop off. So we're making all this money, and then people started reaching out to me and going, hey man, I need your bonuses. And I was like, but I don't see you on, uh, the system. I can't like track it. Are you sure you've signed up through me? You know, there's so many people promoting this thing. Um, you know, I, I can't guarantee you signed up under me. And they sent me receipts from PayPal, and then it dawned on me, and I went through the link myself, and I kind of got to the checkout form, and the sneaky vendor had slapped a PayPal button on there at the last minute, which bypassed the tracking. And like 40% of the people were then just hitting the PayPal and checking out with PayPal, and it wasn't tracking, it wasn't paying, it wasn't doing anything for affiliates. They did that at the last minute. On purpose. So now I've got my stack of PayPal receipts because all these people wanted the bonus. So I went knocking to the Mr. Vendor and I said, I've got 4 or 5 people here who've all signed up but they've used PayPal and it wasn't in your agreement and it doesn't track. And obviously they have egg on their face and they had to pay out the difference and they made a manual adjustment. And that was like another 4 grand on top of the whatever we'd made. It
