In this instructional video, a Howdy Media representative outlines three essential questions and considerations for business owners when interviewing video production companies. First, they stress the importance of a "partner mindset," urging viewers to seek agencies that aim for long‑term relationships rather than one‑off gigs, because sustained collaboration reveals brand identity and yields compound content benefits. Second, they advise evaluating the agency's systems and creativity balance: a good partner should have efficient processes, be open to client goals, and blend creative freedom with strategic direction to avoid costly mismatches. Third, they highlight a business‑results focus, recommending that agencies track ROI through landing pages, unique tracking links, and analytics to ensure videos function as lead‑generating assets, not just content. The presenter concludes with a call‑to‑action for a free 15‑minute discovery call and encourages viewers to apply these questions, avoid freelancers who lack proven results, and engage with agencies that treat videos as business assets.

Alright, whenever you're out hiring a video company or you're trying to find somebody to help you with a video project, these are some smart questions and things to ask whenever you're interviewing them. And so first thing is gonna be the partner mindset. And so here at Howdy Media, that's what we do. We strive to find only people who are interested in potential long-term relationships. Of course, we do jobs that are like kind of one-off, like weddings and that sort of thing. But we really like to help people for the long term because whenever you can partner with somebody, you can see what it is that their true brand identity is, and you can help them display it over time. And the longer you put out this stuff, the more compound effects that you see with your content. And so look for somebody who's looking for more than just like a one-time gig, because at that point they're just looking for your money, they just want a quick check. You really want to find somebody who's in it for the long term, is going to be like, hey, let's partner together, let's figure this out together, let's use the strategies that I have learned from my years of experience online making videos, and let's do this for your brand, for for the long term to bring the most ROI on your investment. The second smart thing to ask or talk about is the systems that they use and the creativity balance. Some creatives like to go all out and they don't want you to tell anything about what it is that you want or your goals. They're just like, okay, you're hiring me for my expertise, and which is true to an extent, but whenever you're working with brands and companies, you want to be talking to them with an open perspective and an open mind. Because you want to hear what their goals are. Because if you don't know what their goals are, then you can't do your job as a creative. And that video production company doesn't know exactly what it is that you're trying to do. And so you end up spending all this money getting a result that you didn't want in the first place that also doesn't get you any leads or clients. And so make sure that they have systems in place to be efficient, to be creative, or have a creative balance within the team or the production company and your business. And that leads me to the last thing that you should ask, which is Business results focused. Are they focused on the results that the business is getting from the videos, or are they just here to make a quick buck? Kind of goes in hand in hand with the last point. Are they just here to make a couple hundred bucks on the weekend to help buy some snacks for later, or are they in this for the long term? And are they obsessed about getting results and tracking these leads and seeing what these videos actually bring as far as ROI? Because you can track it and there's ways to figure out, use landing pages and figure out tracking links to track all of this stuff that you can see where the traffic is coming from on your videos. And so if you put out a video on YouTube, you can put a link dedicated to YouTube and be like, okay, I wanna know every time somebody clicks this link from this specific page. And then wherever you're sending them, you can see that they came from YouTube and you can see that they eventually closed by talking to the business owner. And so find somebody who is, not just making a video. I cannot stress this enough. Find somebody who is making more than a video. They're making an asset, an online asset for you to go out as the business owner and to find leads and more business and build more trust through this content and this video. And so it could be a daunting task, especially if you live in a bigger city. But if you ever have any questions or want to work together, there's going to be a link in the description of this video. And so make sure to hit it. We could book a call. It's a quick 15-minute discovery call for absolutely absolutely free. We can discuss your goals and what you want to do with your content. But make sure to ask these questions whenever interviewing these companies, because if they say things like, oh, I'm just a videographer, a freelance, just getting started trying to make a couple bucks, then don't go with them. Like, they, they don't know what they're doing, first of all, which is fine, we all start somewhere. But you want somebody that has actually done it before, that you've seen their results, you've seen the videos that they put out, and it's great work and they focus on getting results over views. And so that means bringing leads to the business as a business owner. So I hope this helps. Let me know in the comments, have you used a video production company before? And how do you decide?
