How To Market Your Business On Social Media (2025)

In this instructional video, the presenter (representing Howdy Media) tackles five common misconceptions that entrepreneurs and solopreneurs have about social‑media content creation. He outlines a four‑step content cycle—awareness, authority, proof, and lead generation—and shows how each type of content (value‑based tips, personal story, social proof, and a subtle call‑to‑action) fits into that cycle. Practical tactics include batch‑creating videos once a week, leveraging AI video editors like Opus Clips to repurpose footage for weeks of posts, and keeping editing minimal. He addresses camera‑shyness by encouraging authenticity, humor, and speaking to the camera as if it were a single person. The video also refutes the belief that a small following or a hostile algorithm limits success, emphasizing relationship‑building, personalized DMs, and nurturing warm leads through email funnels. Throughout, he stresses that content is a relationship tool, not just a sales pitch, and invites viewers to book a strategy call with his agency.

If you clicked on this video, it's probably for a few different reasons. You're posting content, but it's not converting. You're getting the views, but you're not getting sales. You don't have the time to create all of this content at one time, and the list goes on. But today I'm going to debunk all of those myths. It shouldn't feel like a second full-time job creating content. It can be a lot of times, but if you do it the right way, you can save 20+ hours a week by using these strategies. Let's break it down. Belief number 1 is I'm posting but not getting leads. Now, to be honest, if you have no strategy and you're just kind of throwing spaghetti at the wall, you're not going to get any leads. That's not how this thing works anymore. If you have content without a strategy, it's just noise. Let me break this strategy down really quick into 4 steps of the cycle. It's awareness, Authority, proof, and then lead generating. And that's going to be nurturing your leads through like email campaigns on the back end after they watch your content. Belief number 2: I don't know what to post that actually converts into clients. I'm going to let you in on a little secret here. Your audience actually tells you what they want to see. How do you know this? If you post 4 different videos, there's going to be an outlier. Pick that video, double down on it, get rid of all of the other types of videos that aren't getting views. So I want you to start by doing this: create a video that provides value, maybe tips and tricks, education on how to do a certain thing in your industry. The second thing, create a story around what it is that you're doing. Make it relatable. Just like me, I started in my college apartment and I decided to go all in on my business And what did that mean? I started creating content. Well, that content turned into multiple six figures per year for Howdy Media, which is my media company. Number 3, proof. This is going to be social proof that people can see, like testimonials, screenshots of things that you've done in the past, stories of people that you've helped in the past. If you're a house builder, you're gonna put up projects saying, hey, we built this house. 'Under this amount of dollars, let us do it for you next.' And the fourth type of content you're going to want to put up every single week is a call to action. Now make it a little bit subliminal, add it in there at the very end or right in the middle. Just do a few seconds, say, 'Hey, link in the description if you want to hop on a free call with me, 15 minutes, no charge to you, let's talk.' No more random posting. Put up these four types of content and and see what sticks, and then your content becomes a sales machine. Belief number 3: I can't stay consistent. I'm gonna say this— keyword is batch creating your content. What does that mean? I want you to sit down for 2 hours one day of the week, have all of your video ideas ready to go, get the camera out, and batch create. This is the most efficient way to get this done without you having to pull out the camera every single day. Now I want you to go and batch create all this content, either send it off to an editor and edit yourself within 45 minutes to an hour. You have all your content that you need for the week. And if you make a YouTube video, which I highly recommend, use a tool like Opus Clips. There's a lot of AI editors out there now. Use a tool like that. They can cut it up for you. It literally takes 10 minutes after you put the link into the tool and then boom, you have content for the next 3 weeks and you can go in there and schedule them out within another 45 minutes to an hour. And so half a day of work, creates content for the next 3 weeks. Belief number 4: I feel awkward on camera and I don't know what to say. Well, I'm gonna bring you up to speed here. This isn't Hollywood. People are flawed, they're imperfect. You're doing this for your business, you're not doing this for yourself. If you think about what people are going to be saying about you, then you're probably not supposed to be a business owner in this life because people are not going to like you. You can't avoid it no matter how good of a person you are. So just do this for the brand, do this for the business, and start creating right now. When was the last time that you saw somebody on video and critique them like you critique yourself? It hasn't happened, no matter what is going on. And if you still feel uncomfortable, don't be afraid to add a little bit of humor every now and then. I have this guy chillin', hanging up back here. It kind of looks like he's, uh, on a noose. But it's something to break the ice and it's easy to do every single time. Whenever you're making these videos, pretend that the camera is one person. Use words like you, me, I, we, instead of saying you guys, y'all. You don't want to act like you're talking to an audience. Talk to one person. Keep it real. Limit the editing. You don't need to go all out. I rarely edit these types of videos. I just like to put it up there Even if I make a mistake, I always just upload it anyways. Belief number 5 that we're going to be debunking: the algorithm hates me and my following is too small. This has nothing to do with the amount of money that you can make on social media. If you have 1,500 followers, if you have 200 followers, all you need is a few of those people to be loyal fans, to share your stuff, and, and who knows, they're probably gonna want to buy what you have to offer. The whole mission of your personal brand shouldn't necessarily be your priority to get in front of more and more people. It's to build a relationship and build trust with the ones who already follow you, and the following will naturally progress as you do this. So post content that solves problems, engage with people, respond to comments, DM people. If somebody follows you— somebody did this to me the other day and I thought it was a brilliant idea— if If somebody follows you, make sure to take the time to send them a little personalized text using their name. If they follow you on Instagram, say, hey, hey Jennifer, thanks for following my page. What is it that you do for a living? Or what type of business are you in? Or have you seen any of my content before? Ask them a simple question that's not asking for anything sales related. Like, act like you are trying to get to know them because you are. Trying to get to know them. Majority of people don't go above and beyond like that. And so when this person DM'd me, I was like, man, that really stood out. I remembered that because this is somebody who I was not expecting to DM me, but he took the time out of his day to DM me and say thanks for following. And it was huge. It stuck out like a sore thumb to me. So to wrap things up, I want you to reframe your mindset about what content actually is. It's not just marketing, it's creating a relationship and building trust with your audience, which is going to be one of your most valuable assets whenever you do decide to ask for a sale. If you provide at least 9 pieces of valuable content, in their minds, they're not gonna be annoyed if you ask one time, say, hey, we're having a challenge, Hey, we're having a discount. If you want to book our services, I'm going to leave a link in the description, and then go right back to providing strictly value. Remember, you're creating content not for yourself, but you're creating content for the consumer. And once you can get the consumer to let their guard down, realize that you're a human being just like they are, the odds of them actually taking action on one of your CTAs or or clicking a link goes way up. And this especially happens on YouTube because as soon as they click on your video, they are intentionally making that decision. Therefore, they are a warm lead as soon as they click it. And so if you can hook them in and capture them in and provide insane amount of value up front, they're more willing to click that link in the description than somebody on Instagram. Let's just say on Instagram and TikTok, they are just scrolling. They call it doom scrolling nowadays, but they're just scrolling looking to have the next laugh. They don't care about what you have to sell. They don't care about what you're doing. And now they, they get on social media for two things: either to be educated or entertained. Whether they want to learn about something very specific or whether they just want to be entertained, whether that's through a documentary or a a comedy movie, a skit, whatever it is. They want to be entertained. And if you can weave all this stuff together and have a strong call to action on the back end of your pages and throw them into an email campaign, throw them into the, the middle of your content funnel, which I have another video that I just posted before this one. Go check that one out if you haven't watched it about the content funnel. If you can get them in your content funnel, you are going to have a way higher chance of converting them into a sale because you have to capture them, which is your awareness building for your personal brand, your business. You have to, uh, inspire them. You have to get them to click on your profile and follow you, subscribe, whatever it is. And then as they watch more of your content, they realize, dang, this person knows what they're talking about. And so I think I might as well go for this free ebook that he wrote. So anyways, with that being said, it is possible to make this much content if you have the right system as an entrepreneur or a solopreneur who doesn't have a team of editors. It's this easy. Batch create, come up with valuable content, and actually put time and effort into coming up with the ideas. Now, you don't have to be completely original with every single thing that you put out. This is where research comes into play. Go and research and see what exactly is working in the marketplace on social media, and just take the same idea and implement it into your own business. Don't reinvent the wheel here if it's already working. So I hope this video helped today kind of debunk these myths that every single entrepreneur goes through. It's definitely been wall after wall after wall that I have broken down personally. Everything from talking in front of a camera to creating ideas that actually perform well on social media. And a successful video doesn't always mean the most views. Remember that as a business owner, even if you have 20 people watch your video on YouTube, if that's 20 warm leads, I'd say that's a win. If you can convert one of those people I'd say spending the time to make that one YouTube video is 100% worth it. So this is what we do every single week. We help business owners just like you create content strategies and systems. If that's you and you don't have the time and you don't want to learn, you just want somebody to do it alongside with you and, and we'll tell you what to do. That's us. And there's going to be a link in the description for you to book a call directly with me. And let's talk about what that looks like. We would love to see if you are a good fit, because if you're watching this video, you're already a warm lead. See what I'm doing here? I'm doing what I'm preaching. I'm practicing what I'm preaching here. So if that's you, leave a comment down below what you learned in this video and what you're going to be implementing from it. And make sure to hit the subscribe button because we're trying to hit 1,500 subs, boys and girls. Let's get it. We hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you in the next one. Peace.
