Is THIS The Sony FX3 Killer????!!

The Sony FX30 delivers cinematic image quality comparable to the pricier FX3 and FX6, at about half the cost of an FX3. Shot with a Sony G Master lens and S-Log3 footage graded in DaVinci Resolve, it produces a film-like look with pleasing highlight bloom. The presenter owns two FX30 bodies and argues that good framing, lighting, and a tripod matter more than expensive camera motion.

Hey guys, welcome to today's video. I want to go over this video called The Beauty of Still Frames Sony FX30 Edition, and it is an absolutely gorgeous representation of the power of the Sony FX30. And so let's go ahead and get into it. I have been watching this video and this creator for a while, and these shots are phenomenal. Like They are so phenomenal. Let's watch the slow zooming out of the frame. Simple but very tasteful keyframes. I love seeing cinematic stuff. The color grading of this footage— so they shot it on the Sony FX30. It says on a Sony G Master 16-55mm lens. Graded in DaVinci Resolve. DaVinci is great. I'm a Premiere Pro guy. Don't— I don't know what to tell you. I got trapped and I can't get out, but I can zoom on Premiere Pro. But that's not the point of this video. The point of this video is to show the power of an FX30. And I've been using— I have two FX30s. One is the A and one is a B cam. They are both that good. I don't need an FX3. I don't need an FX6. Because of this camera. And I paid a sixth of the— what is it, a fifth of the price of an FX6? It's like half the price of an FX3, bro. Let's see. You also notice the sound effects in the background, like great touch. That has nothing to do with the camera, but it's a great touch on the beauty of still frames. They do a great job. I mean, this is a digital camera. It's a mirrorless camera. But they really killed it in giving it a film and like nostalgic vibe. You can see there's some blooming in the highlights, whether that's through an indie filter or whether it's in through post-production. It kind of looks like it's through an indie filter, um, but like killing it. You can do so much with an FX30. I'm, I'm willing to bet 100% they filmed in log, S-Log3, more than likely, because to get these types of grades, that's definitely what you got to shoot in. And it's so, it's so simple but beautiful. Like, this is what people like underestimate whenever picking up a camera for the first time is like letting the movement in the frame become the interesting thing. Like, you don't have to have all these handshake and like gimbal and, and all these things. Like, you don't have to be moving the camera. But if you were to just set it up on a tripod and worry about getting your frame right, and then don't worry about moving the camera from then on, create the movement within the shot, like of the subject, if that makes sense. They do a great job of that. It also helps that they're in like a gorgeous scenery with a lot of great lighting and a lot of shade. from all of the trees and a lot of greenery. So that definitely helps. But man, if you would have just pulled this up on a TV, on an 8K TV, and you would have just been like, what do you think this was shot on? I would have guessed minimum an FX6. Minimum an FX6. But the fact that this, this camera body I think it's like $1,700 used, is producing things like this. I think it's one of the greatest assets that a creator and business owner could have is something like the FX30 because it's easy to use and it's, it's very like lightweight. It's very small and very affordable to get into this type of quality work. It's almost done. We got 10 more seconds. Great video, and that's it. And it is gorgeous. It is gorgeous. And if you guys— I'm, I'm really curious, have you guys shot on an FX30 before? If you have, what did you shoot and how did you like it? If you don't shoot on an FX30, what kind of cameras do you like to use? Are you Panasonic guy? Are you a Canon guy? Everybody has mixed opinions. I personally am a Sony diehard fan, and I will be using Sony at least until somebody comes out with something better. Right now Sony's killing the game. Um, I really don't know of another camera company. Maybe, maybe Nikon with the one acquisition of RED. We'll see. It's probably going to be more high-end stuff. Um, Canon's just way over the top expensive for the quality that you get, in my opinion. But I like Sony. Let me know what you guys are shooting on. Where are you guys watching this video from? Like, I have viewers from all over the world and I want to get to know you. I want to know exactly who I'm talking to. So let me know in the comments as well as what you guys want to see next.
