Two pastors discuss balancing church leadership with family life. One reveals struggling with depression from the pressure of juggling both roles, while the other argues a pastor's primary ministry should be at home, not the pulpit.
So Cody, how do you manage being a pastor and a father? Is there a balance you have to— are you being serious? Yeah, this is manly.
Okay, manly stuff. I've tried really hard to say my number one ministry is my ministry at home, because if you go pastor a big church or pastor any kind of church and people love you and they like you and they want to listen to your preaching, they come to church, but you suck at home and your kids play with Flop, wear skinny jeans, drink Celsius, and drive Priuses, then you've done something wrong.
Guys, I just want to let all of you know that I got the Prius about a year and a half ago. So about a year and a half ago, I've been struggling with depression. Yeah, that makes sense.
I would be too.
My pastor just, he really hits deep with those jokes.
