I think my FX30 might be dead. If it's dead, then we'll just have to get a different option. But until we figure out what the heck is wrong— boy oh boy, today has been eventful. Um, not the video that I was wanting to make today, but I wanted to reach out if anybody has any solutions to this. So as many of you know, I love the FX30. I love using this camera. But we've run across a slight issue. And if you've run across this, let me know how you fixed it because I'm about to have to send it in. Um, it's unfortunate, but I don't have a clue what to do. I've done all the troubleshooting, I've done all the things to try and fix this camera, but here's what I'm talking about. So whenever I turn it on, it turns on for a second. Boom. Let's see. And then that's what it says. This is camera error. Turn power off and then on. So guess what I do? I'll turn it off and I'll turn it back on, and it does the same exact dang thing every time. It doesn't matter the battery that we use, it doesn't matter the lens that we use. So I'm confused. It just It happened a couple of months ago and then we just switched the battery to like a normal Sony battery because we use third-party batteries. Okay, and then if that's the issue, then I learned my lesson. But I switched it to a Sony battery and it worked fine for a while, and then literally we show up to the studio today and it's not working. So just kind of frustrating. These are the things that, um, people don't tell you about whenever running a video company, a media company, and That was actually the video that I was planning on doing, so stay tuned for that one too, um, to learn about all the things that you don't think about as a business owner, as a video person. But it's been a fun time, um, um, and I'm gonna try to keep troubleshooting, um, and try to figure out who I want to take it to. We luckily got most of the shoots that we needed multiple cameras with done this last week. And so even if it's out of order for like a week or two, I think we'll be able to be all right with the shoots coming up. But we— that's why we have multiple cameras. This is also another lesson. We have an A7III, we also have, uh, A6300. Which I'm about to sell. If you want to buy it, let me know. I'm going to get a 6700. Um, but it's always good to have a backup plan, especially when you show up to very important shoots. Um, bring a backup camera, bring backup SD cards, bring backups, because this stuff happens. And if we would have showed up to a shoot today and we wouldn't have tested this this morning, we would have been screwed. So I don't know, that's just my rants for the day. Thanks for tuning in. I hope you're having a good 2025 so far. Um, ours has been great. There's been a lot of bumps and hiccups along the way, but I'm sharing my journey, I'm sharing my story. Today we have, um, a surprise engagement shoot, which that'll be fun. Um, we have a couple meetings and we have some B-roll, some cinematic B-roll that we're doing for a project, which we luckily only need one camera for. So it's gonna be good. Anyways, leave a comment in the comment section below if you've ever had this problem. Let me know, how did you fix it? Who did you send it to? How much did it cost? Like, I've never had to send a camera in for repair because they normally just work. So this is the first issue that I'm having with the FX30, and there's like literally no answers online on how to fix it. Everybody's like, oh, just restart the camera like it says. I'm like, bruh, I did it like 20 times and it's not working. But anyways, make sure to like this video if you like this content. Um, the next video is going to be more uplifting, I promise. I'm just trying to get the word out there and see if anybody else has had the same problem because I am sick of it. So, uh, make sure to subscribe.
