A website alone won't grow your brand in 2026. People discover and trust you on social media, podcasts, and video first. Your site is just where they convert after you've already sold them elsewhere.

I'm just gonna say it, okay? Your website is not your marketing strategy. Welcome back to today's backyard shenanigans talk. A lot of business owners think, well, I have a website, it looks good, works good, so we're good. And I get it, website is very, very important. I make them all the time. But here's the real truth: most people are not waking up every week wondering, I should go check out that company's website. That is not how people consume information anymore. They are all on Facebook. They're all on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, all these platforms, watching podcasts, watching videos. They are listening to people. They're building trust with the brands before they ever fill out a contact form. That's what it takes now in 2026. Your website is usually where people go after they already care. Landing pages are great examples of this, but content is what pre-sells them. I mean, what— it's what makes them care in the first place. So if all you have is a website but you're not consistently showing up with videos, stories, education, testimonials, podcasts, behind-the-scenes content, you are basically expecting people to trust you from a digital business card. That is not enough all alone anymore. It used to be. Your website should help you close the deal. Your content is what should build the trust before they ever even get there.
