You're listening to the Human Upgrade with Dave Asprey, formerly Bulletproof Radio. You're listening to the Human Upgrade with Dave Asprey. And today this is a special short episode about one of the speakers who's going to be at the biohacking conference talking about something that I brought out at the very beginning of the biohacking movement when I was starting it. There were a variety of things I knew about that worked, but I could only talk about so many new things without people thinking that I was just a crazy person. And so I thought, all right, I'm going to structure these from what's most interesting and most surprising and easiest to do. And one of the things that made the first cut, aside from putting butter in coffee, which is a tried and true know Tibetan derived or Ayurveda derived recipe, was something called birthing or grounding. And I talked about this in the very, very early days of biohacking. People thought, are you kidding me? But it was part of my jet lag cure and part of reducing inflammation in the body and something I've spent a lot of time doing. And it's always been a pain in the butt to do it properly. I read about getting off airplanes and standing barefoot in Germany and, you know, cold soil and all sorts of crazy stuff and really got into it. So now it turns out there's something called the anti aging bed. And I've got one of the execs from the company on, they're a sponsor of the conference. And we're going to talk really quickly so you can understand what is earthing and what does it do for you. And there's some stuff you can add on, on top of earthing that uses metals and uses infrared stimulation and things like that. So we're going to get into like, what could you possibly do? And our guest is Christy Hardison from Anti Aging Bed. Christy, welcome.
Thank you, thank you for having me. So happy to be here.
Now, I heard through the grapevine that you were actually really nervous about being on the show. Is that true today?
Maybe a little.
Maybe a little bit. Am I one of those nervous inducing people? I feel judged a little bit here.
No, you have great energy.
But now I'm feeling triggered because, I mean, are you looking at my energy?
No, you have great energy.
I'm just messing with you. See, now you laugh. Now you're not nervous.
Not nervous anymore.

Good. So tell me about the anti aging bed. More importantly, tell our listeners about it because I have one on my bed. But. But talk about what it does because it's really core to the field of biohacking in general.
Sure. So our core technology, it has three components to it. All three of these components are available separately in other products, but ours is the only one that combines all three into one simple product. So we have the grounding or earthing in our cover. The photobiomodulation which is the far infrared technology, and the medical grade pure silver woven into the COVID that makes it antimicrobial and antifungal. So essentially our bed cover fits over any size mattress and plugs into the wall. So you're getting the earthing, you're getting the electron donation from your home into the COVID So you're earthing or grounding while you're sleeping. And you're also getting the other two technologies, Anton Microbra. So it's reducing the pathogen load and protecting you from EMFs while you're on the bed.
So silver protects you from EMFs, or earthing protects you.
The earthing, sorry.
Earthing.
Yeah, got it.
I'm a huge fan of silver and copper in bedding. Just because all those weird skin parasites, dust mites and viruses and bacteria and all, you can kill all of them by having that in your pillowcases or in this case, on the liner that goes on your mattress. I've also found you can put the anti aging bed, you can put it on top of one of the mattress cooling systems and that works just fine.
Right, right, exactly.
And it's not particularly thick, but it's a high durability sort of thing. Is it waterproof? I never asked about that.
It's. So it's kind of like a topper. It does make your mattress a little more comfortable, in my opinion. And you can wash it.
Okay. But if someone wants to, I don't know, a certain amount of fluid maybe got on your bed for some reason or another, like they need a waterproof cover on top of it.
We suggest maybe just putting a regular mattress cover on the top. Yes, but some people like to sleep on it, you know, without one.
Okay. I usually just put a bottom sheet or like a fitted sheet on top of my anti aging bed. And that way if any sort of dust mites or whatever make it through, they're going to be right there on the silver and all. How does the infrared stimulation work on it? Because it's not powered. It's plugged into the grounding part of an outlet.
Right. We have tourmaline crystals that are stamped onto the undercover of the mattress pad. And your body weight activates the crystals. So then they're putting the infrared is going back into the body from your body weight and your body heat. It's heat activated.
And so one of the things people oftentimes don't know about crystals is that, okay, we use crystals even in very ancient times, if you look at say the cut of an old ring or even A crown. The back of the crystal is always exposed to the skin because they were using those for color therapy over acupuncture points. And so there's a reason there's always a right in the middle of the forehead, a giant thing, and it's never covered with metal in the back. So they're getting energetic benefits from that. It was actually Alberto Viotta who first taught me that, who's been on the show a couple of times, a dear friend and a shaman. But the other thing about crystals is that they're piezoelectric, which means when you heat them or flex them, they actually make electricity and or photons. So by putting tourmaline onto the mattress in a flexible thin film, that means every time your body weight and heat are on it, it's generating infrared or it's probably bouncing your body heat back and stepping it up to infrared. But it's kind of cool that you can do that just with a passive mattress pad. And then you plug it into the round part of your outlet. And this works in any country, right? You just have a different plug adapter for.
Exactly.
Okay.
What if there was something you could add to your water to make you perform better, have more energy and protect your cells from damage? Hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the universe and the only one that can get deep inside your cells, mitochondria, and even your DNA. It fuels energy production, crushes oxidative stress, and supports sharper brain function. Hydrogen's a gas, so you can't take it as a pill. So you either have to breathe it in or infuse fuse it into your water, but your tap, bottled or filtered water doesn't have it. That's why I use the Echo Flask. Echo Flask is a hydrogen generator that uses advanced electrolysis and a proprietary proton exchange membrane to infuse your water with pure hydrogen. No chemicals, no ph change, just therapeutic science backed hydrogen. I've noticed more energy, faster recovery, less inflammation, and met mental clarity that lasts all day. Go to ecowater.com dave and use code DAVE.10 for 10% off your Echo Flask. You'll feel the difference in days. Is the air you're breathing making you sick? Just because you don't see mold doesn't mean it isn't there. My friend Jason Earle has been on a mission for over two decades to help people understand the hidden role of indoor air in their health. He's one of the world's leading experts on mold and indoor air quality. And he created the Got Mold Test Kit to make Professional grade air testing. Simple and accessible. It uses cutting edge air sampling tech that top inspectors trust. And it's engineered for you at a fraction of the cost. It takes just minutes to get samples using the patented Biovac air sampling pump. Then you send them prepaid to one of the most prestigious microbiology labs in the world. No guesswork, no paperwork, and no hidden fees. You get fast results, intuitive reports, and great support. And since you keep the pump, you can retest anytime for less. It even comes with a lifetime warranty. Mold may be invisible, but its impact isn't. This kit helps you understand your environment so you can take action for your health. Go to gotmold.com and use code DAVE10 to save 10% and see what's in your air. Because the best biohackers don't guess. They test.
How did you get into all of this stuff in the first place? Because you kind of come, you know, big pharma and all that sort of backup. Yeah.
So back in 2016, I had a little medical, I don't know, you want to call it emergency, but I had a pain to purpose story. I got chronic fatigue. Yeah. And that's when I started listening to you. And I became a huge fan of yours. So I bounced around from doctor to doctor. And a lot of them, you know, were my very best friends and they couldn't help me. Nobody could really figure out what was going, going on. But I had reactivated EBV virus.
So many people.
Yeah.
So.
And listening to you, I started learning about all the things that I needed to do to heal my body. I just had twins. I was a mother of newborn baby twins.
Congrats.
Thank you. And they're eight now. But I started learning about grounding. I started learning about high dose vitamin C, oxygen therapy, ozone.
You didn't just have EBV and chronic fatigue syndrome though. Right. You've dealt with some pretty serious stuff. What happened?
That's right. This past February, I went in to local hospital to have a surgery for fibroid removal. What they thought was fibroids went in and when I came out of surgery, my husband was standing there and had to break the news to me that I had ovarian cancer. They found ovarian cancer. I don't say the word cancer. I call it Lucy. So I had ovarian Lucy. And it had spread throughout my pelvic region. It was on both ovaries. Stage 3C.
Wow.
Not the news that anybody wants to wake up in here from a surgery.
Especially with 28 year olds.
My gosh, 28 year olds at home. So basically the oncologist recommended that we do six rounds of chemo, three rounds, then surgery to remove everything, and then three more rounds.
Wow.
And as a biohacker at heart, I started, you know, first of all, I hit. Hit my knees. We hit our knees and just prayed to God to lead us and direct us in which direction we should go. And my husband, who is a superhero, called my company Anti Aging Bed while I was still under anesthesia and got the frequency machine based off of Dr. Royal Rice Technology. They overnighted it and he had that going in my hospital room. I was in the hospital for three days because I had five liters of fluid drained off of my abdomen from the ascites and my left lung had collapsed. I had two liters of fluid taken out of.
My God, you were really sick.
I was really sick, Dave. I mean, really sick. And I sent you some pictures. I don't know if you have them.
There, but show them if that's okay.
They're pretty. They're, you know, pictures worth, worth a thousand words. But like I said, while I was in the hospital, I did take one round of chemo because I was so, so sick. And I just wasn't thinking or I just didn't know what to think. Basically I hadn't been able to process, process it. So I took the chemo on February 10th and went. Spent six days there. But we had that Tesla frequency, plus I had two more generators running. So I had three programs running at the same time that was addressing the Lucy cells. There's a program specifically for almost any condition from Parkinson's to gout to cancer. And I had it running on female gynecological Lucy cells, killing those while I was in the hospital. And then I went home. I was supposed to go back in in three weeks to get my second round of chemo. Every three weeks, a round of chemo and then surgery. So I went home and like I said, just. We prayed for direction. And I think your gut feeling, your intuition, to me, that is your. That's your message from God telling you what to do. And I don't ever recommend anyone to go against their doctor's orders. But for me, the right thing to do was just to go all in on all the alternative things that I've learned through the years listening to your podcast and just being a student after the EBV virus, I kind of knew how to heal the body. So. But for the first two or three weeks, I was still recovering from the surgery and I just had that machine going 24, 7 in the house. And chemo works for about 10 days in the body. So I had my blood marker, my tumor marker, checked at day 10. It started out at 812, which is extremely high. It's supposed to be between 0 and 38. It's a CA125 blood marker for cancer. So day 10, it had gone to 500, which was, you know, was okay. The chemo probably kick started it a little bit, so. But right before I went in and was supposed to have a second chemo, I went and had my blood checked again, and it had dropped all the way to 115 in only three weeks.
Wow. So you had a really rapid turnaround.
In your rapid turnaround. So I went in and I discussed that with my oncologist. She gave all the glory to the chemotherapy, of course. And I said, but I'm doing other alternative things. By this time, I was juicing. I was. I was doing the frequency technology. And I had gotten a call. You know, God puts angels in your path when you need them the most. And I'd gotten a call from a guy that I'd met at the A4M meeting in Vegas. And he had heard about my diagnosis or. And reach out to me. His name's Travis Steffens from the breast source. And Travis started coaching me on my mindset and how. How you need to vibrate, you know, and fear is a low vibration mindset. So he got me out of that fear and he got me into thinking of Lucy as. As a blessing and then thinking she was there to make me into my best self and. And to do that. And I started looking at it in a whole new perspective.
Why do you call it Lucy?
Well, he gave it that name. I think there are no coincidences in life. And he told me cancer had a bad and negative connotation in the brain. You kind of have to control your thoughts when you're in a state, emergency state like this. And he said, lucy. And it resonated with me because that was my childhood nickname. And I said, wow. I said, how did you come up with Lucy? And he said, it didn't come from me. It came through me.
Wow.
And he said, we're going to work together. And I said, well, how much do I owe you for this? And he says, nothing. When your journey's over, you just pay it forward. You just teach people what I'm teaching you. And he taught me the breath work, which. There's a lot of science behind that. I felt like that was a step staple as well to my healing and to how quickly I healed.
Yeah.
And so, you know, fast forward. I told the oncologist, I'm not interested in that second chemo. I'm going to keep going down my path because I'm healing, you know, I'm putting my weight on. She told me I'd be back in there in 10 days to get the fluid drained off again. The fluid never came back.
Wow. It's important to mention here. For people who are considering something like this, you have to track your markers. If you're not going to do what your cancer docs are suggesting, they clearly have a bias. But cancer survival rates using western treatments have gone up substantially over the last five years. So we're better at cancer than ever before at curing it. But I also know people who have breast cancer. I'm just going to go juice. And they're just putting their head in the sand. And then they have stage four, and there's nothing you can do about it, you know, short of a miracle. So I just have to say you tracked your markers. Yeah. Markers went back up to 800. You'd have been back in the chemo, right?
Absolutely right.
There you go. So I'm not for or against chemo.
Yes.
I just don't like reflexive chemo. Right. You have to do it specifically and carefully. And there's so many doctors listening to the show, I think would agree with what we're talking about.
I just didn't want to be put into an algorithm. I wanted her to see me as an individual and see all the things that I was doing and taken to consideration that there are alternative things that do work and to just see what I'm doing, check my markers, check my scans. We ended up, you know, changing doctors. I ended up going at about six, eight weeks, roughly. I got a CAT scan and the radiologist in the report said that it was interval resolution, meaning what was there was. Was no longer detectable.
Well, there you go. I would say that you got it working. The one tech that you used, in addition to the anti aging bed, you talked about rife technology. I've covered this a few times on the show, but for listeners, the rife technologies. Rife is a amazing guy who actually Tesla borrows some of his inventions from. And rife was working with actually microscopes that were so powerful he couldn't use light. He had to use radio frequencies to illuminate things and discovered that certain radio frequencies, certain types of EMFs would destroy things like viruses and Cancer cells, et cetera. And he was so successful that Morris Fishbein, the founder of the American Medical association, tried to buy the tech when Royal Rife said no. In the 1930s, Morris sent in a bunch of people with jackboots and they broke his microscopes, tried to burn all of his lab books and trying to destroy his work, which still does survive to this day. I got my first rive machine in 1997, and if you look at the episode I did with the folks from Biocharger, we talk about the history of Rife technology. If you just search for the podcast the Human Upgrade, Dave Asprey, Biocharger, you'll find a whole kind of mini course. So I love it that you had a loving husband who was plugged into the right people, the people you worked for.
Yeah. And, well, the amazing people that I worked for or 2 Ask no questions and just, you know, sent it, overnighted it. Our, our CEO, Tim Daughtery, with just an angel. You know, I've met several angel angels in this journey and I'm just so grateful and to be here and humbled that I'm sitting in front of you cancer free in less than three months.
Wow. In three months.
Three months.
I love the story and thank you for coming on and sharing it. And guys, there are, there are lots of people who are told one thing by someone who's following an algorithm, and they literally think you are average. The reality is that if you're listening to the show, you're not average because you're either above or below average. You're probably above average because you listen to the human upgrade. I mean, let's face it, right? They actually compare your brain waves to a database of 1970s Muggles. They literally recorded a bunch of random people from the 70s who were probably high on stuff. And to this day, they compare your brain to this large database that's called a qeeg. And you don't have to do that. So when you come to something like 40 years of Zen, we compare your brain to our in house database of 1500 super brains. So if someone says, oh, you have a 10% chance of getting Alzheimer's, yeah, you do if you live off Cheetos. But you don't live off Cheetos. So you don't have a 10% chance of it. You have a much lower percent. But doctors don't see that because they're taught to think in this. So your job is to understand you can do what you just heard about here. Literally. Christy, in three months did something that's not supposed to be possible. So come to the biohacking conference and get an understanding of how to have control of your own biology and just don't be average because that would be boring.
Gotta be the CEO of your own healthcare, right?
Absolutely.
So that's what started me on the journey. And then when the planets aligned and I was able to leave corporate America and, and go home and start taking care of my children, this opportunity arose and I was like, yes, this is perfect fit. I want to be in the wellness space and alternative healing. This is, this is where I belong.
Wow, quite the transition. And it's funny, there's a connection between ozone therapy and earthing. Right. When you do ozone therapy, you're turning up your cell's ability to make electricity by activating the, it's called a redox system. But essentially the way your cells make ATP so it turns that up. But if you have a static charge built up and you're not able to get it off the body by walking around barefoot for a while or connecting to an anti aging bed or the other ways, you know, going swimming in the ocean, et cetera, et cetera, then even if you've done ozone therapy, you don't get as good of results because you just tend to build up inflammation. So it's that combination of things. Getting adequate sunlight, getting the infrared, getting earthed, and maybe getting something that turns on your cell metabolism. And then all of a sudden EBV goes away and all of a sudden your brain works again. And I have been since the very, very first earthing very primitive product came out, geez. Many years ago. I've been using some variety of that, at least most of the time. And I think it's a part of what makes biohacking work. So I like having it on my bed. I like the addition of tourmaline to do the far infrared reflective things, the grounding and the silver. Because yeah, having little living things in your bed, all of us do, except those of us sleeping on Silver where 99 point something percent of it gets killed instead of replicating. So that just seems like the right way to do it.
Yeah. And then you can combine all three at the same time while you're sleeping so it doesn't take time during the day. It's not something you actually have to go take time out to do like go to the gym or you know, sit in the oxygen chamber or those things, or the infrared sauna. You could do this while you're sleeping and feel better, sleep deeper. Didn't talk about that, but that's one of the first things I noticed when I slept on the COVID was I was having all these vivid dreams. And yeah, that was one of the first things. And then a lot of the people that, you know, I've been in contact who love the COVID they say the same thing. So I think that that's a. It's more REM sleep if you're dreaming vividly, from what I understand.
Yep.
And that's one of the things.
The first half of the night is usually deep sleep, especially if you go to bed, you know, around 10 or 11. So then the first half is deep, second half is dreaming. So if you wake up at 5am to go, you know, hit your reps, you're probably not dreaming enough. You might have needed to sleep in a bit. And if you stay up till 2am, like I like to do, I'm writing books. Unless you do something aggressive that includes earthing, you probably won't get enough deep sleep. So it's like first half, deep, second half rem. So when people are on the anti aging bed, they're experiencing more REM sleep, which might mean they got their deep sleep done earlier and went into REM earlier, or they're just experiencing deeper REM sleep, which is really good. If you only get deep sleep and not REM sleep, you'll still wake up feeling really, really tired. So getting adequate REM is part of waking up feeling like yourself instead of waking up wishing that you had another two hours of sleep.
Yes. That's one of the things I hear the most, is how people are just waking up feeling more energized.
That's impressive. I'm not surprised. I've noticed that earthing in general does it, and that's without silver and all the other cool things that you got built in. So it's neat stuff. And you're going to give a talk at the biohacking conference about anti aging, not just your product. I mean, everyone there, not everyone. Many of the speakers also work with companies that make biohacking products. It's almost like you believe in them or something. But there's also just a general tech talk about the mechanisms of action so you don't have to go buy an anti aging bed. You're like, I live near the ocean, I have a backyard. But to understand the role of earthing, how it works in your body and understand how it all works, you're going to sit down and go, I could probably roll my own. But this is actually an easier solution. And it just works, and then you decide it's worth it or you decide it's not worth it, and either one's okay. But now you know why. Because I think there's real science. So I'm looking forward to your talk at the biohacking conference on June 22nd to 24th in Orlando.
Yes.
And have you heard? All of the preferred tickets are sold out now. So we have general availability passes still available, and they're probably going to sell out, too. So if you're listening to this episode and you like it, you really, really want to come and hear Christy talk about earthing and tourmaline and what's going on with the anti aging bed. And all of the other speakers, including me, will be giving away 40 years of Zen, full $16,000 pass, and a bunch of other big prizes at the conference. So go to biohackingconference.com and check it out. You're going to find that it works really, really well. Well enough that not only do I have your liner on my bed, I have it on the guest bed at my house as well. So. So my guests get an anti aging upgrade while they sleep.
Nice.
Yeah.
Yeah. And my children and my animals also appreciate. They notice the difference. And I have two in my guest rooms as well, in my children's bedrooms.
Oh, no kidding. Yeah. My kids have been grounded forever as well for the same reason. It's just worth it. You get more robust kids that way.
Reducing the inflammation in the body by getting that electron donation from the house is reducing the free radicals in the body. And we know that our diets, what we're eating, what our kids are eating, what we're drinking, we all can use a reduction of inflammation.
We all could. And controlling inflammation is the same way as saying turning up energy production in the body. Because if you eat a piece of steak and breathe some air, it can turn into electricity or it can turn into inflammation, reduce inflammation, increase electricity, and that's just how it works. And it's so much better that way. All right, well, this has been a fantastic mini episode. And where can people find out more about the anti aging bed?
Our website's www.antiagingbed.com.
Nice. So there you go, guys. That's how you learn about it. Or you could just come to the biohacking conference, biohackingconference.com and get a ticket while you still can. It is going to be our best, biggest and best. There's a party both nights. There's a singles event, which is going to be really, really incredible. And I did mention, by the way, guys, I am also single now and actively dating and having a good time. So there's a lot to be said about having a dating event at a biohacking conference because then you get to meet happy, healthy people working on themselves or you can just meet friends when you're there. So I want to see you at the conference and I'm really, really excited to see you Christy there as well.
Along with excited to meet you. Thank you for having me.
