A CEO's social media presence can drive business growth, but only if it matches their actual personality. Marc Benioff shows how it works when done right, though the strategy needs to fit the individual, not follow a template.
How do you feel about B2B CEOs becoming social media influencers to drive traffic to their business?
A lot of times I'll advise companies, and one of the first things I'll do is just kind of, like, suss out the CEO and go like, hey, is this a extrovert with a great personality that's tweeting all the time and loves interact, in which case that can be a huge asset to your company. Right? And lean into that. That's great. I was super fortunate. I got to work with Marc Benioff, right? Like, he's just this amazing figure and person and philanthropist, you know? And I've. I've talked to other ones, and there's nothing wrong with this, but they're like. They came from a dev background, and they kind of sh away, and they're introverted, and sometimes they'll ask me, well, should we have this massive PR budget? And I'm like, well, you know, I might actually move that somewhere else, right? Because I don't think you're gonna be able to leverage the CEO that much. It's really crowded. I think, like, hey, whatever company, it works. Everyone's different. The playbook shouldn't always be the same, right? You always have to adapt to the strengths of your. Of your team.
